She is a driven city girl with her eyes on the prize.
He is a smoking hot country mechanic whose prize is her.
Stella Monroe has her eye on one thing...a promotion. So when her boss offers her an opportunity to show her value to the company, she decides to take it. There is just one problem. Moving to a small town away from her city life isn’t Stella’s idea of a good time. But she’s got this. Right?
From the minute she arrives in the country, Stella is beginning to lose her confidence. Her car ends up in a ditch, a snake decides to visit her in the shower, and the quiet is driving her crazy. Her only saving grace is the hot mechanic that rescued her from the side of the road. His mix of kindness and cocky playfulness is definitely appealing, but can she manage her career and a fling?
Katrina Marie lives in the Dallas area with her husband, two children, and fur baby. She is a lover of all things geeky and Gryffindor for life. When she’s not writing you can find her at her children’s sporting events, or curled up reading a book.
Kinda feels like a first draft. The parts of the story that could be interesting are cut super short while other stuff - especially the set up - drag. It just left me feeling meh. Also I'm not interested in the books about the heroin's cousins. One has no personality and the other one is an annoying bitch.
I have had this in queue forever..I was sorry that it took me so long because I got the laugh that I needed. I have never read from this author before but I will since this was funny and cute..Grab a copy and enjoy you will looooove this sisters and who doesn't enjoy a small town?

This is the story of Stella and Johnny. Anyone who needs a chuckle or smile in their life needs to read this book. There is going to be something somewhere in this story you can relate to. This is a story of a city girl, Stella, who gets sent to the country by her job but you cant believe all the things that happen to her. Johnny comes to her rescue. It's a good easy read, standalone, HEA.
Sweet and clean, but good Good romance whose sex scenes are implied and not described, but the story is very romantic and it works well because the characters are endearing without being annoying, and their relationship knows a few twists that keep the interest: Johnny is timid at first, but he's also an alpha, while Stella is strong, independent, but irresistibly attracted to Johnny. Stella has to go to a new agency of her company to have a promotion in the American country. She loves to live in city and she's close to her cousins, so, the shock will be tough. After a car accident, she is rescued by Johnny who will become the first person she will know in her new temporary life. She is attracted to him and vice versa, but because she won't there for long, they quickly agree not to get attach to each other. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
no stars, because it was crap! i skimmed read over a couple of days just to pass time. i could have wrote this book when i was in the 3rd grade. got it in a reveal book box and it makes me consider cancelling. don't waste your time! 0/5
Ok you guys, YOU ALL NEED TO GO GET THIS NOW! Stella and Johnny are so awesome and so 100% relatable!!! There were so many funny thing about Stella that I kept thinking, OMG THIS IS ME IN THIS BOOK! On top of that, she's strong willed and super funny. What isn't to love about a lead woman with those qualities?? Stella is also a city girl, which I can 100% relate to. Although, I may have died if I had been in a situation or two of hers, and I am not exaggerating lol!
Let's talk a little more about Stella. This girl is so awesome! Part of how I can relate is that she's super clumsy, but a total workaholic. As much as I try, I'm definitely both of those! BUT this leads her to Johnny, and holy cow is Johnny awesome! Stella is definitely the type whole thinks/thought work was more important. Insert Johnny. I was so dang happy that Johnny wasn't a serial killer when he helped Stella at the side the road LOL. (I am one to almost never remember a blurb before I read a book, so I was in the dark about the names). He was so perfectly kind, but also had a truck load of charisma. This man was smoooooth! I loved how he treated Stella from the moment they met. Also, THEY HAD SPARKS. Holy cow did they have sparks. They caught each other with lingering eyes more than once. So I was so super excited to see just how daring Johnny was.
Johnny is one relentless people, and I loved that about him! He wasn't about to let Stella fall through his finger-tips, especially when he could see that her desire matched her own. Watching these two figure things out was SO MUCH FUN. I had so many laughs, but also there were some pretty amazing steamy parts.
Now, I cannot talk about this book without talking about the cousins!! Tiffany & Aubrey are both one of a kind! These girls are definitely ride and die. Made me want to text my cousin and check in! What I loved most was how supportive they were. Although, Tiffany did give a lot of crap, you could tell she 100% cared. Everyone needs an Aubrey and Tiffany in their life!!! I CANNOT wait to see what she has in store for these two!!
Back to the book, this book was so awesome. I don't want to give away much, but there's everything you need. There's some really funny parts, some serious parts, some steamy parts, awesome friends and a few wrenches thrown in to throw you off. You cannot ask for more! Go buy now!
By far one of my favorites! Why you ask because Stella is so relatable. Are you scared of creppy crawlies? Stella has you covered on that. Clumsy AF? You guessed it, Stella again has you covered.. Suspicious if a random dude trying to help you is a serial killer? Stella again has got your back, sista!! She had me dying. Just cause im a country girl and i have these traits but ive gotten better with the creepy crawlies status. Haha. Also, i kinda envy these girls and their relationship. Stella and her two cousins have a close relationship where you could honestly think they are sisters. I don't have that with my cousins whatever the reason. So this book was so much fun to read cause i got to see a side of a relationship that i don't have. I absolutely loved Johnny! He was great and so persistent. Which hey when you know what you want, you go for it! Did anyone catch the tiny bit we got of good ole Reaf from Welcome to your life and From this moment? Miss him and the group from Taking Chances series but it was great seeing him. Im super excited to see what's to come in this series especially since it means we see the cousins get their men!
Gone Country is the first book in an all new series from Katrina Marie. What happens when a city girl has to head to the country temporarily for a job? Well, read and you’ll find out.
Stella was so fun. She is hard working, her job is important to her. She is full of sass but such a klutz. As a character, she is super relatable. She also has her two cousins, Aubrey and Tiffany, who are hilarious! I love the relationship with the three of them, they are much more like sisters than cousins. Johnny, the small town mechanic and Stella’s knight in shining armor when she first comes to town.
Stella and Johnny had instant chemistry and it just grew more intense as the story went on. I loved their relationship and I can’t wait for more of it in the future to see how far the come.
Gone Country is a fairly quick read but it is full of laughs, a little steam and just an overall feel good story.
Book: Gone Country Read By: Ebook Author: Katrina Marie Narrator: Na Genre: Romance Main Characters: Stella and Johnny Recommend: yes Spice: 🌶️️ Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
Book one in the Cousins Gone series by Karina Marie. This is the first book I’ve read by they author. I grabbed it on stuff your kindle day, and I thought I would give it crack.
“Damn, there’s no need to be violent.”
This book was a light fluffy read, with lots of sweet romance. It didnt hit the spot per say, I needed a bit more to grab my attention, but it was ok for a in-between books read.
“Basically, that we’d never work once I moved back here.” He looks like he’s about to interrupt”
Sometimes I need a fluffy book between the more dark romance that I read and this did the job. However if I read romance regularly I would be left disappointed with this book.

We have Stella, a workaholic city girl, who forgets to live just so she can get a promotion in her company. She's also a family girl very close to her cousins. More like sisters. One random day she gets her big opportunity, but as usual there is a catch. She has to go away to a small town to start a new project for her company.
In this city, she doesn't start with the right foot, but she gets a knight in shining armor in the form of Hot mechanic Johnny. She's not used to him or the country, but little by little they develop a friendship that quickly grows into something more.
At the end, she finds what she didn't know was missing in her life.
If you're looking for an angst and drama filled read keep looking BUT if you're looking for a read that will have you chuckling and feeling good afterwards this is it. She's a hardworking single woman more focused on being promoted than hanging out. Then she gets the opportunity of a lifetime which turns into a lifetime lesson on what's really important. Away from her cousins it's time to figure out what if she has overlooked is what she should be focusing on. Cute feel good story with some steam and fun is something this author is good for. Love these characters and the first standalone in her new series.
This was a fantastic book to read if you love romantic comedies. The main couple of characters are hilarious and full of wit and charm. This was a quick read for me because once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I had to find out what was going to happen with the two of them and their relationship. And the cast around them, mostly the cousins, were phenomenal. I was wishing that I had cousins like them. I thought the author did a great job with the writing and detail to make me imagine this was taking place in my hometown even though it wasn’t. She kept me interested until the very end. And she has my anticipation high for the next book in the series.
Stella was a workaholic in Austin with a demanding ungrateful superior when she gets the opportunity to manage opening a new distribution center in Asheville. Johnny is the mechanic who picked her up when she ran off the road to avoid hitting an animal. They decide to have a fling while she’s there, but their feelings for each become stronger until his ex and her job back in Austin get in the way. There were plenty of funny and sexy moments in this romance.
I've read several books written by Katrina Marie; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Stella is a bit of workaholic whose sole purpose is getting her proverbial ducks in a row, so when she's offered a chance to prove her work she takes it she just didn't count on it relying on a move to the county side where she meets a Johnny. Cute feel-good rom-com, with a good storyline and some steamy moments.

I love it when the characters in a book are relatable, fun, entertaining and a joy to get to know. When the story line is just as fantastic and has those laugh out loud moments. This book is all that and more! Don't hesitate to get this book. The description grabbed me in and I'm so glad I didn't let this one slip by.

Gone Country is the first book in the Cousins Gone Series. This is a clean sweet romance with city girl Stella and country boy Johnny. The characters are fun and Johnny is a little gun-shy due to an incident with an ex. This story is well written and has humour, drama with his ex, and a sweet clean romance.

Katrina Marie's books just keep getting better and better. This has been my favorite one so far. Stella thinks the thing she wants most in life is a big promotion.. until she moves to Asheville and meets Johnny. This book was such a fun read for me!
The book is a good romantic comedy read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable funny romance read.

I am recommending to my friends. I was so entertained and thrilled while reading this story. I truly loved the twist and turns, ups and downs, and I also enjoyed all the characters.
I must say, this was a very happy and fun read to engage in upon reading! From the start to the main plot concept to the character introductions I was defiantly hooked. It was impossible not to get hooked in with the drama or the funny moments going on as the book progressed its plot!
The story of this book was so sweet and full of heart for sure. I loved the story as well as the characters. It was a fun and light hearted read for me to enjoy. I'm a country girl at heart so this book defiantly felt like home to be in more ways than one. I loved it! The story of city girl with big dream, doesn't plan on finding the most amazing guy ever, Will it come down to having to make her choose one or the other perhaps? I think you will have to read this one to find out!
Johnny and Stella were for sure two different, but special characters. Johnny reminded me of my husband, Sweet, good soul, and good with his hands in more than one way maybe haha. Stella was a girl with her head on her shoulders well, but not prepared for what life can throw at her. She was fun to read and her alone gave me a lot of chuckles as I read. It was comical in a good way to read about her and Johnny and time together and the events they faced. It was a good and fun read for me!
The book was very enjoyable and as I have said gave a lot of heart and then some! I really enjoyed this first book in a series. I was very happy reading this and I will for sure be enjoying more from this wonderful author! I highly suggest you read it, you will for sure enjoy yourself as much as I did!
Genre romance. The male character Johnny is single and doesn't date for no good reason,, but he does wink. The snoopy and clumsy female character Stella, who mostly doesn't like anyone except her two female cousins, comes to town reluctantly since the big boss asked her to set up a distribution center of some sort in a small town at least fifteen miles to a grocery store. "Wow, there really isn't anything out here is there?" She moves into a country house that's evidently okay -- not described. For some reason, it has a curvy driveway. Fast food seems to drive the characters. (I think he tows her car with a chain that makes him grunt and groan to attach. With the chain and no one to hit the brakes on her car during the tow, she's lucky her car wasn't further damaged. He has a hole in his kitchen floor. (Termites?) He's the hero -- rescues her from her wrecked car and the snake in the shower, then gets her his mother's car to use. She forgets to put any clothes on when she calls him to save her from the snake. The couple's conversations are on the light side, but lust rules. The word "nice" shows up frequently. His high school ex shows up and would maybe want to get back together with him. He hasn't been with anyone since. A possible conflict could be that she lives in Austin and he likes living where he grew up, but no problem.
This is the first book by Marie. Gone Country is about a city girl who moves to a small country town. She meets and falls in love with a mechanic.
Stella moves from Austin to Asheville for her job. She leaves behind her two cousins and best friends. On her first night there she meets her true love. The one who will ease her stress away at the end of the night. The quote I chose for Stella is: “And put some damn clothes on."
Johnny is headed home after his friend cancels on him. He finds a beautiful woman stranded on the side of the road. He does suggest casual dating, but it doesn't last long. The quote I chose for Johnny is: “Yep. She inherited it from her father when he passed away. When he owned it, it was just another bar where the local drunks hung out. Then Angie took over and gutted the inside, updating everything in here so she could open back up. She’s actually the one who renamed it. Kind of like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. She said she wanted to turn it from something ugly to a beautiful place where guys would be proud to take their dates. I have to say, there have been fewer bar fights since she became the owner.”
A somewhat flat novel. It wasn't really for me I'm afraid. Found the plot inadequate, the characters poorly described, their personalities undeveloped. The storyline was predictable and for the first 22% into the story very little had happened. This lengthy introduction did not benefit the book. Although there was a perceived attraction between the main characters Johnny and Stella, the romantic content is so clean, I'd give it a 12 rating. There were a few exchanges between Johnny and Stella that were witty and their developing feelings could be felt There were so many scenes in the book that did not contribute at all to the storyline or made much sense. There were several spelling errors, so the efforts of a good editor would benefit the book. There is a HEA but other than Stella's close and well-described relationship with her cousins Audrey and Tiffany, the rest of the story had left me wanting.

I absolutely LOVED this book. From the moment Stella met Johnny, I knew this book was going to be good. It's one of those books that I could see being turned into a movie or a TV show. Stella is trying to get a promotion at her job after working very hard for countless years. Johnny is the country hottie she meets during her newest adventure of temporary relocation. This is book 1 in the Cousins Gone series and I will most definitely be reading the other books in the series.
This book, is a masterpiece I fell in love with the whole plot of the story!!! As you can see it took me 3 days to read it and had such a hard time putting it down!! I loved every minute of it and I think everyone needs a Johnny in their life, definitely my second favorite book of the year! Hats off to Katrina
