Gabi was born to play polo, but her career opportunities are far from abundant. She’d have her best shot at her goal if she could move from Brazil to the US, where many of her family and friends already live. However, the US government doesn’t exactly issue work visas without a sponsor. And there aren’t many women’s polo teams in the US that are hiring.
Tyler already gave up his dreams. Because of an inherited debt, he’ll probably finish paying it off when he’s dead. Tyler had to drop out of vet school and work, work, work. He desperately needs money, but his options are limited.
Until Tyler meets Gabi, and she proposes a deal with the potential to change everything.
She will pay him to marry her. He’ll get the money to pay off his debts, and Gabi will get a green card and the freedom to follow her passion. A fake, temporary marriage to a beautiful, hot girl doesn’t sound like a bad deal.
As their fake marriage starts to turn into a real one, a twist of fate threatens to tear them apart, and a choice needs to be made.
While Juliana Haygert dreams of being Wonder Woman, Buffy, or a blood elf shadow priest, she settles for the less exciting—but equally gratifying—life of a wife, mother, and author. She resides in North Carolina and spends her days writing about kick-ass heroines and the heroes who drive them crazy.

Thank you Juliana Haygert for gifting me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The first thing that had me sold right from the start was “fake marriage.” I knew what I was getting into—it’s one of my absolute favorite tropes. Still I found myself thinking “Omg, girl! You’re absolutely crazy!” when Gabriela proposed to Tyler, a man she’d only known for no more than a minute or so because she wanted to get her green card in order pursue her dreams playing professional polo in the states.
Crazy. But worth the whole journey of watching two idiots fall in love while they kid themselves into believing “it isn’t real.” Of course, you have angst. LOADS of it, and boy does this story have its moments where you feel like you’re being kicked square in the feels. Because of Tyler’s past and his reasons for agreeing to marry Gabriela. Because of two characters failing to communicate to the other; whether the reason is out of fear of offending the other or just being plain emotionally constipated.
I loved this sweet and highly emotional story. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will be extremely frustrated while Gabriela and Tyler grow into their own persons. But I’d read this story a million times over again. I literally read half of it in one night, not wanting to put it down!
One of my favorite tropes is fake marriage/relationships. Because honestly, the story could go anywhere or be anything. And Haygert wrote this story to perfection and did the whole thing beautifully. And it was like hardly anytime at all had passed since I last left off with this series. When in fact, the last time I read them, it was 2016. Crazy!!
Haygert gave us such an incredible couple to read and fall hopelessly, head over heels in love with. What I adored about Tyler is that he wasn’t a cocky character. He was to himself most of the time and a bit temperamental. Which is understandable with his current situation. But it was a breath of fresh air after all the mafia men I have been reading lately, to have him be the way he was. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my angsty, driven mafia men, but Tyler was a great reprieve.
Alone, both Gabi and Tyler were good characters. But together, in the middle of it all, they were everything. Sure it took some time to find their way, even if they didn’t know they had found it until it nearly slapped them in the face. But their chemistry together was on fire. They have precious souls and I was happy how the story ended. 5 Stars!!
Ok, ok... Everybody knows about my fangirl obsession with Juliana Haygert and Breaking Series (check my 10 Stars Review for Breaking Free here) and I know I am not reading so much these days but I'll be dying for this book.
Did you read the summary? So far it's sooooooo god!
Me: I won't read more romance books for fun. Just for work. My ultimate fave author: Guria, check your kindle out. The Breaking Series is my ultimate fave series and Breaking Down worth the wait.
Oh I absolutely loved this entire series, but Gabi is my favourite character. Such a strong character who knows what she wants and grabs it with both hands. Recommend to all
