Short dark steamy vampire romance. I gave it 3/4 stars because part of the plot was the same as book one, kidnap a girl who is breeder and find out they are your mate. Also the part about them rescuing the witch during the full moon sacrifice that didn’t catch my interest so I skipped a few pages of it. This book did do better than book 1 in the series because Hannah and Caleb had great chemistry and banter, also Hannah was able to be a dominant to him. Hannah gives it brat vibes, especially in the cave scene where she was pushing him to see how far he would go. The spicy scene where they do it three times is amazing. I liked how we saw Rachel and Vincent again in this book, Zara the author always does a really good job of getting her books to interconnect, which I really love.

The story delves deeper into this organized crime world when Hannah is taken to Castle Varga and also features a reconnection with Rachel and Vincent from Book 1. All Hannah’s training for the last five years as a NERV agent is suddenly in question in the hands of Caleb as more hidden otherworldly secrets come to light.

Decent read
The plot was pretty good and it leads us into an ongoing story that will develop through the series. However, I was beyond annoyed with the typos. There were several occasions where the author wrote the wrong person's name. So many that I stopped trying to report since it drove me completely insane. For an avid reader and English major, it was too difficult to overlook the constant mistakes. It distracted me from the actual story. On top of that, there was a lot of "telling" in the story that felt choppy. I did enjoy the mystery of it all. So not too bad of a read.

Loved the story. Circumstances bring vampire, Caleb and a vampire hunter, Hannah together and he recognizes her as his mate and she is a rare breeder. Danger lurks all around as someone is trying to control all of the different mafia families. This is an excellent story, well written and full of danger with a budding romance between Caleb and Hannah. I would highly recommend this book as a great read.

Is it getting hot in here? Maybe just because this book is HOT!!!! If you like your men tough, sexy, and slightly sweet? Well, then my friends you have to read this book! Not just for the sexy man inside but the wonderfully written vampire romance story that has just the right amount of steam, suspense, and twists and turns that you leaves you wanting more at the end!

This is book 2 of the Midnight Mafia series. This book had my attention from the start and kept me pulled in until the end. I thought the character work was great and the story had a great flow. I would recommend reading.

Less steam but more plot with this one. Didn’t expect that but I did really enjoy it. More fighting, more paranormal, but still those spicy scenes were the best. I felt like there was a better connection between these 2 MC’s compared to the first book and that made me enjoy their banter more. I’m curious who this next book will be about!

A sinfully hot story that had me hooked from the first page. The idea wasn’t new - Buffy and Angel - but it was a fascinating story. The dark and dangerous vibe was palpable throughout the story and made for an intense read. I totally enjoyed this story.

Much better than I thought!
Zara has a way of writing that really makes the paranormal sound realistic. This is a great way to spend the afternoon with a really great book! This is a series and I like that its not a lengthy one . The sex is a plus as always!
