Full Bodied Ink is an enjoyable first in a series. Lark and Dutch spark off the page and into your heart in this charming second chance at love story. Lark is a hot mess and Dutch is just hot. I look forward to more in this series.

Old Lady Shoes
What is it about “kitten heels” that makes women’s lit author’s hearts go pitter-pat? Each and every time an author describes a woman’s shoes as “kitten heels”, I picture my grandmother shoehorning her twisted, arthritic feet into too-small kitten-heeled dress shoes because she was too vain to wear flats. To me, it reeks of uncreative romance novel tropes.
In terms of this book, I immensely disliked the female protagonist. She can’t drive. She can’t figure out directions. She doesn’t know how to use a map app. She won’t walk two blocks because of the aforementioned “kitten heels”, then complains about the parking. She flips people off and calls them names. What is there to like about her? Then “Dutch” suddenly has some extranormal sense that “she’s the one!”. I haven’t read contemporary romance in nearly a year and I am quickly remembering why.
