"He lives on land, permanently. How are we supposed to make this work?" Kaerius asked, watching the boy sitting on the sand dunes. "You're not. We're not designed to fall in love with them. You're burdened by this," Laiken replied, sinking under the waves and swimming away, leaving Kaerius to stare at the human he had bonded with, and leaving him alone to make a life-changing decision. On a hunt gone wrong, Rowan is left with limited time to remove a supernatural bond before he falls in love with the one species he was raised to hate.
It's definitely a 5 star read and I sure do hope more people read it cause this is amazing. The magic system is light but done well. The fantastic creatures? Amazing. The main characters are charming. I loved how they made friends. Seeing their romance blossom into something so pure and beautiful was so satisfying. The plot twist was something that my brain didn't even think of but it made so much sense. I loved the family dynamics ( towards the end). I desperately wish it had a sequel so that I could spend more time with the characters.
This book is fantastically creative with an entire new world comign to form. the species and magic that is intwined and twisted itno the plot os captivating and amazing
