I have one assistant and two other trained bodyguards. That is the make up of my team, and I’ve made sure each member is an ex-Marine.
I know how to work with fellow Marines and they know how I like to run things. I can’t say my business is exactly booming right now, but we’re getting there now. So when Jeff, my assistant, tells me about the security detail job that has come up for a local wedding, I’m more than happy to hear about it.
Effie sits in the booth across from me and I can’t stop myself from staring. I know I really should focus on what she’s saying, but she has a body that is calling out to be touched. Curves in the right places...

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Effie and Shane. Shane owns a bodyguard company and Effie is a party planner. When Effie hires Shane for a wedding, he thinks it is her wedding. Effie wears a fake engagement ring so she is left alone and not hit on my men, she wants to focus on her career and not find a relationship. Effie and Shane both ffel their amazing connection, but Shane thinks Effie is engaged and decides he has to stay away from her. Effie wonders if she should have told Shane the truth and knows when he works the wedding, he will learn the truth when it isn't her getting married. Effie wonders if she should give Shane a chance and thinks she might have missed her chance to be with him. I liked this story. I liked Shane and knew he really cared for Effie. I think he wanted to be with her, but also was honorable and wouldn't push things if she was with someone else. Shane knew they had amazing chemistry and thought Effie was the one, but he also knew he had to let her go if she was happy. Effie had to decide if she could have a relationship as well as her career. another good one.

Effie is a wedding planner who wears a fake engagement ring to discourage unwanted attention because she is married to her job and does not believe in HEA. Sh is an ex-Marine who runs a security firm. When Shane meets with Ellie to provide security for a wedding he assumes she is the bride but he is instantly attracted to her. She doesn’t tell him that she isn’t the bride and she flirts with him but feels that it’s safest if she leaves. Will Shane realize that Effie is not getting married or will she tell him she is not the bride? Will they find a HEA?
I thoroughly enjoyed this cute instalove story. The author did a great job explaining Effie’s feelings of disillusionment about weddings and showing Shane’s growing feelings Effie. I recommend reading this book for a fun short story.

This is a short romance. I loved the characters.
Fairytale weddings don’t make for fairytale endings.
Effie is a wedding planner. She has an appointment at a bar of all places. She's looking around and then she meets his eyes. A man like him can only mean trouble.

This is a very short, fast paced romance. It is so sweet. Shane and Effie had an instant undeniable connection even though neither of them were looking, nor wanted, a relationship. I especially enjoyed the epilogue. Very entertaining. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review

This was a fantastic, short read with a HEA. I read this inst-love story in less than an hour & really liked it. This was book #2 in the series “Alpha Mavericks Brigade”. I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
