She’d prepared to be flood in during the storm, alone…she didn’t plan on being stranded in a haunted house with him. With an antebellum home to protect, Olivia doesn’t waste any time in her preparations. She’d promised her employer she would take care of the place while she was in the hospital. No power and no exit route is par for the course this far from town. But her plans didn’t include a sexy PI who seems intent on digging into her employer’s every secret. Isolated by rising flood waters, Olivia can’t get away from his questions or the heated attraction he evokes. Still she can’t shake the feeling he’s hiding something. Will the old trunk in the attic reveal a new kind of storm? Will his investigation into a long lost heir destroy the very love they’ve both been longing for?
Dani Wade astonished her local librarians as a teenager when she carried home 10 books every week – and actually read them all. Now she writes her own characters who clamor for attention in the midst of the chaos that is her life. Residing in the southern U.S. with a husband, two kids, two dogs, and one grumpy cat, she stays busy until she can closet herself away with her characters once more.
Olivia has been a companion for Miss Della for the past two years. Promising to care for her home while Miss Della is recovering from a broken hip, Olivia is making all the preparations for a bad storm. The old home is secluded away from town, and when the phones go down and the power goes out, the last thing Olivia was prepared for was a knock on the door…or to see a handsome stranger on the other side! Going with her gut instincts, Olivia allows him in from the storm, and when he tells his story of why he is so insistent on meeting Miss Della, Olivia offers to help him unravel the mystery behind his quest. There is something broken behind his haunted eyes, and Olivia opens her heart and prays Ren won’t make her regret trusting him.
While this is the second installment in the Secrets of Covington Corner series, Haunted Heritage may be read stand alone. Dani Wade has written a small town insta-love romance with a hint of mystery and paranormal I devoured in one sitting! My only complaint is the story ended much too quickly. I would have enjoyed reading more of Ren’s and Olivia’s budding romance! Would recommend and look forward to reading the rest of the series!

Mystery, romance, secrets and haunted house makes for a good read.
This is the second installment in Secrets Of Covington Corner.
After being cheated out of share of the family farm. Olivia meets elderly Mrs. Mason and they quickly become companions for each other.
Mrs. Mason has broken her hip and is in rehab and with a torrential downpour fast approaching, Olivia has promised Mrs. Mason that should look after her home which is far away from city where internet, wireless service and cable tv is limited.
Just as Olivia has settled down with the power out and the generator has kicked in there is knocking at the door and she is wondering who could possibly be out in this torrential downpour. Olivia opens the door and she sees Ren with the beautiful blond locks and the most gorgeous blues eyes. Ren is a investigator and is looking for Mrs. Mason and needs and wants to get in touch with her to question her about an heir. Olivia is fighting her own battles and wonders if she can trust Ren. This is a great short novella HEA and I am looking forward to reading about the remaining friends Jamie and Piper.

Olivia is looking after Mrs Mason's house while she is in hospital and now there is a storm brewing and then everything goes black as the power goes out but Olivia is prepared as this has happened before. The house is supposed to be haunted and that doesn't bother her at all until there is a banging on the door and she is alone and now.a.but rattled. Ren is a private investigator and he needs to speak to Mrs Mason urgently but what he didn't expect was for a beautiful spit fire to answer the door. After Olivia turns Ren away his truck gets stuck due to the storm so he eventually convinced Olivia that she is safe with him and spends the night. Olivia and Ren get closer and then things are revealed that throws Olivia for a loop as her last comes back to haunt her. There are twists and turns along with betrayal, secrets, lies, hope and a second chance. I really loved this book and I had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. Dani Wade is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.
This book picks up hard on the heels of the previous, only this time our focus shifts to Olivia. Companion to the elderly Mrs. Mason, she’s all set to ride out the storm in the woman’s home to ensure it suffers no great damage from the rain. In the middle of the storm, Ren comes knocking at the doorstep, bringing a cloud of secrets and Mason-family drama with him. When he triggers bad associations with her past, can these two salvage what they’re building together? This may have been a quick read, but I was immediately pulled into the story and charmed by these characters. Olivia is fierce in her protection of Mrs. Mason, and both Olivia and Ren made my heart hurt for what they’d been through getting to this point. I thought the ending was utterly precious and I can’t wait to see what the author brings us next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
Olivia has promised Mrs. Della Mason that she would care for and protect the woman’s secluded antebellum home while Mrs. Mason was in the hospital for her broken hip. With the phones and power out, she was not expecting company as a private investigator, Ren, arrived in the middle of the storm and ends up having to spend the night.
With a mystery to solve, an allegedly haunted house, and the arrival of a stranger, all capturing the reader’s attention, where will the story lead us? Ren and Olivia quickly feel an attraction to each other. Will they fall in love so quickly? What’s in that old trunk in the attic? Will Ren find out the answers he is looking for?
Romance and mystery will keep the reader entertained or at least riveted to the story line to find out what’s going on! Grab your copy and if the mystery will be solved.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Olivia is house sitting for a good friend Miss Della that has taken her in after she had family trouble. Miss Della house is where the lights goes out when it storms and so Olivia loads the wood boxes so she can have a fire to keep the house warm and to have a light. The house has a few doors open and close on their own. Now would be the time to get the book. I will be getting more from the author.
WE have a little mystery. What will Olivia do when a stranger shows up at the door? How will she protect herself and maybe her heart? Why is he asking questions about her employer? What will Ren do to get Olivia to let him In? What is this noise going on in the house? Why is she not scared? Will she let me know the truth?

I liked Olive and Ren. This book was a good read. There is romance and mystery and I enjoyed it. This is a fun little series and I look forward to reading more books in it.
Although I enjoyed this book I can’t give it five stars. Olivia, the main character, rambled quite a bit which made it hard for me to get into the story. It also jumped around leaving me a tad confused at certain parts. The characters were wonderful. Olivia was so real to me. She had doubts, trouble with trust, fiercely loyal. Her childhood wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Ren is mysterious, out for answers with only one outcome, this causing him heartache he didn’t see coming. There’s mysterious, romance, lies that are revealed.
