U.S. History is designed to meet the scope and sequence requirements of most introductory courses. The text provides a balanced approach to U.S. history, considering the people, events, and ideas that have shaped the United States from both the top down (politics, economics, diplomacy) and bottom up (eyewitness accounts, lived experience). U.S. History covers key forces that form the American experience, with particular attention to issues of race, class, and gender.
Once I finish my exam I will finish this class on the Dean's List again for the semester. Thank you for an enjoyable textbook to read. The links to additional info were great when you want to find out more about that particular topic.
This book was pretty depressing. There was so much death and destruction and war. Most of the characters were unlikeable and horrid. Some were okay. Awfully depressing stories and things
These textbooks, which are free on Kindle, are written at the high school to the college freshman survey level. Covering major elements of US history with supporting linked resources, you get a great, balanced, perspective on the growth of the nation until about 2015. Well worth the lengthy read.
Excellent review.of United States history from its founding to the Obama administration. Learned a lot about the history I forgot when I was in high school and college. All in all, a great read.
Got this book because classes are about to start and this was one of the required books. Got it on kindle cause I like to read digital and it has a nice order to it easy to read
This book is detailed and well structured. I have used it for two classes and finally finished it. Overall, the book is perfect for intro history courses and I would recommend it over others.
