I posted this on Social Media just as I began to read this book
"I fall in love a lot.
Mostly with strangers I see from afar, or smoothie vendors at festivals, or with celebrities I follow on social media or speakers who touch my heart.
This is different then celebrity crushes or idolized posters on a wall.
This is God reaching in and revealing humanity, the vulnerability, the connection He desires for all of us.
I saw Chris Simning speak at a youth retreat several years ago.
I fell in love.
I've had his book for a bit and knew it would be something that held words you simply want to absorb. Completely".

I'm read this in 2 days which is really fast for me and all I can say is I fell in love with Chris even more. "When Oceans Roar" makes me think I should write to him.

This book was outstanding. The author shares his powerful story of living with a physical disability. I cried at times, laughed at times but when I finished the book, I was in awe of how God took his brokenness and turned it into His purpose! The author spreads hope to other hurting hearts through his speaking. This story is a must read! It will touch your heart, but most importantly, it will feed your soul!

God uses our scribbles for His purpose

I have met the author a couple of times after he spoke at retreats. He is living proof that God uses all our differences to further His kingdom on earth. This book has shown me a side of the author's life I never knew about before. The struggles and the pain he went through growing up have made him stronger because God brought people into his life to show him that he mattered. You've got to read his story. Even at my age I can still learn how much God has done for me and that He can still used me where I'm at.

Chris Simning has come to our church a few times to speak. He is an amazing man with a powerful testimony to share. His smile is infectious and he is a great story teller. As you read about his disability, trials, disappointments, and miracles you will be transformed. He is not defined by his disability; he chooses to be defined by his Savior, Jesus Christ. I know Jesus will say one day, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Chris lives in light and love as he shares his journey with his readers.

Beautifully written autobiography. Chris's story will inspire you. Highly recommend reading this book and then answering the questions about your own life at the end. I've heard Chris speak a few times and I still learned many things I didn't know about his life. Thank you Chris for your scribbles!

The story of Chris’s life is truly inspirational. It’s a great lesson grasping brokenness and finding purpose in life. Occasionally the words blurred as my eyes began to water as I felt some of his life struggles, but there were many more tears of joy. The book was very well written. I couldn’t stop reading it.
