Renegade is the first book in The Mercenaries series by Raven White. This is the first book of Ms. White’s that I have read, so I was curious as to what I might find between the covers. This is a romantic suspense- with danger, mystery, opposites attract, Alpha males, and a sassy leading lady. This is a tried and true recipe, which Ms. White has put her own spin on. It is fairly predictable, but enjoyable nonetheless.
I really feel that the story could use a little more development and depth- which would make it an even better read. There were intriguing and suspenseful moments, and the chemistry between Eliza and Renegade was off the charts. So, if you like your stories on the spicy side- this definitely fits that bill.
The story definitely got better as the story evolved- but there were parts where the flow was disrupted, and the story lagged from time to time. I am intrigued by where this series is headed, so will be keeping my eye out for upcoming releases: Hacker (Book 2) and Sensei (Book 3) are listed as releasing soon.

I enjoyed this book. It is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more. This is a creative, well developed story that I couldn’t put down once I started it. It is full of action and romance, of course having a hot sexy hero made the story engaging. The characters had great chemistry and made the story realistic. What will happen when Renegade becomes a bodyguard to protect a friends sister? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens.

This is the first book in the series and is Eliza and Renegade's story. Overall this was a pretty good read and for me, I liked that Eliza could help protect herself I thought there was good chemistry between the characters and I enjoyed the storyline, I will be looking out for the rest of the series.

The story Renegade (The Mercenaries Series Book 1) by Raven White is a wonderful book to read. I loved the storyline and the characters. It is a book that has both suspense and romance. I really loved the character of Eliza McKay. She is strong, independent, intelligent, and a wonderful singer. She was been attacked and her brother, Sparrow, has called on the services of Sam “Renegade” McGill to keep her safe. Renegade is a man that takes his job seriously and has a comradery with those he works with. He also finds himself very attracted to Eliza. He, however, knows that she is off-limits. Eliza also feels the attraction to Renegade. Will they act on their attraction for each other? Will the one that attacked Eliza be caught? What does the future hold for Eliza and Renegade? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has romantic moments that make the temperature in the room rise. The story also had me wondering what was going to happen next and if the attacker was going to be caught. I also enjoyed reading about Sparrow. He is protective of Eliza and will do anything to keep her safe. This is the first book in a series, and I can’t wait to read the next story. Don’t miss out on a book that you won’t want to put down until you have finished the last page. I highly recommend reading it.

This is a first time author for me. I was intrigued by this series. Alpha men and they are protectors....WHERE DO I SIGN UP? Double the fun! This is kind of an insta-love along with a friend little sister genre. I thought This really got better the further along it went. One of my problems were her injuries and the sex that came after the hospital release. It seemed unlikely that they would get together with her terrible injuries...OR that he would care for her welfare and wait Until she had recovered a bit before diving in. Their activities in the bedroom seem pretty rigorous and I kept saying Ow...Ow...Ow for her. I also would have thought the police would have been interviewing her after the first attempt as well but nothing.
The characters were sexy, strong and kept the tummy flutters were a fluttering. I liked Eliza’s attitude. Growing up with a hard headed brother gave her a heads up dealing with Sam. There is a large crew of mercenaries. They all have different and fun personalities. I enjoyed the bond they have with each other but I got tired of their “Copy That” response.
Overall this is a suspenseful sexy story. It has it’s good and not so good parts. With a bit more time and length to fully flesh out situations this would be superb. But as right now it’s a fun read.

Raven White has written this first book in The Mercenaries Series. This is the first book and it takes off on page 1. It is well written and filled with suspense. Raven White is new to me, but I can already say, I'm going to enjoy this series. You can't help but fall in love with her characters. Her blending suspense with romance was a real rollercoaster of a ride. This alone will keep you reading. I for one am looking forward to her next book in this series.

Sam aka Renegade is a former military member now mercenary who is called to return a favor to his friend Sparrow. Sparrow's sister Eliza has been attacked recently and wakes in the hospital confused. She is not sure who attacked her an why. Renegade is to be her protector. Sparks fly when the two meet and the danger intensifies. The two must work together to stop her attacker and maintain her safety.
I loved this short story. I was able to read it in one sitting. I am excited to see what comes next in this series. I loved all the characters and how well they were developed for such a short read. Eliza and Renegade were amazing. I loved following them and also the wit and humor they shared in their conversations. The storyline was easy to follow and organized. I loved that several supporting characters also had their own sections which played an important role in the development of the story. It had an excellent plot and climax as well. I was definitely hooked immediately with this book. I highly recommend it!

This is a good book about a young woman (Eliza) who wins a contest and becomes a singer in a band. She gets viciously attacked and her police officer brother arranges for a mercenary named Renegade to protect her while they search for the attacker. Eliza and Renegade are very attracted to each other and eventually there are great sex scenes in the midst of other events, such as more attacks on her. I wish there had been more clues and/or more suspects to make it more fun for the reader to figure out who-dun-it, but when things start to happen, events are shocking and surprising. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy good romantic suspense novels. It's a good length, too, not too long for the story to reach a conclusion.

I wanted to like this story more, but it pushed the boundaries of belief. Renegade is your typical alpha male ready to step in and save the day. He is asked by a former brother in arms to protect Eliza from a stalker. I was relieved to find Eliza was not your typical damsel in distress that was unwilling to do anything to protect herself or had TSTL moments. This was not the case, but for someone that was in dangerous territory of puncturing a lung, having sex immediately after being discharged from the hospital was a bit much. She is also in hiding at a remote cabin, but goes outside during a blizzard because she heard a noise and wanted to investigate while leaving Renegade sleeping. This is glossed over as an acceptable occurrence. I liked the characters, but the story itself needed work.

This is a new to me author, and I must say i will be looking for more from now on.
Eliza wakes in a hospital having been attacked and her big brother there wanting to help protect her. He calls in Renegade, and boy oh boy do the sparks fly.
I read this book pretty quickly and a lot happens that just needs to be read. But just know, it ticks all the boxes i look for in a romance book and I couldn't read it fast enough.
Must read.

This is the first book that I've read from Raven White and I wasn't disappointed. Between the action and romance I couldn't put the book down. The story was so imaginative and I loved the characters. I loved how this renegade mercenary which once was this bada$$ military man now is a body guard fro his best friend's little sister (I'm a total sucker for these stories). I can't wait to read more from this series

I have never read anything by the talented Raven White prior to seeing Renegade. However, when I saw this cover and read the blurb and a few teasers I knew I had to find out what story this book held. I am glad that I picked it up and will be checking out the rest of the series now as they come. I had a few things that were somewhat confusing while I read this book, but I found that the writing became more structured and easy to follow as the book wore on. This made me struggle with my rating and gave it a good solid four stars. I just would like to see a cleaner flow in the next book so I will keep an eye out for that one.
The storyline is fairly simple revolving around a friends to lovers/ love at first sight concept. It was predictable as far as romance novels go but I don’t think that was the true beauty in this one anyway. The scenes, world-building and the sexy swagger really made this book all it is. I found myself fanning my face several times as I read about the sexcapades our two main characters embark on. Whew! So expect that romance, heat, and kink, to be hot and spicy. Make sure that is your cup of tea before reading as well. I loved this factor, so for me it was not a problem. Like I said this is book one in the Mercenaries Series so there will be more and I’ll be right there for it ready to see what will happen next!

In this story, Eliza wins a singing contest/reality show to become the lead singer of a band. One night, after a show, she is attacked and left for dead. Her brother is a police officer and former military and he brings in a member of his former team to act as her body guard once she comes out of her coma. Renegade has to take the assignment. When a brother calls, you answer. He and Eliza have an instant attraction that could cause problems on the case. But he takes his job very seriously and vows to keep her safe while her brother works on finding her attacker.
This story was an interesting read, but for me, I wanted more details. There were things that were really skipped over and left up to you to make assumptions on how things occurred, but I think it was just because it was such a short story. It’s a good beginning to the series and I think it will only get better as the series goes on. The characters had great potential and intriguing personalities. I look forward to learning more about them. You’ve got to love a group of hot alpha military men! And Eliza is a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and is willing to fight for it.

I struggled between 4 & 5 stars on this book...This is my first read by this author and I completely enjoyed it. I went with 5 stars because I was totally hooked on the story and how it was told and I did not want to put it down until I finished.
It was definitely predictable and I figured it out early on so there was really no twist for me as the clues were quite obvious. The only thing that kept nagging at me was the blizzard, her outside covered in snow and finding the truck key in her hand, this was never addressed, and kind of threw me off, but what had me most invested was the interaction between all the characters and the build up of what is ahead in the books to follow. I love this group of people and can't wait to get each of their stories.
It was a quick and super simple read and there were plenty of scenes that had me blushing and I do recommend reading it because there is a ton of potential for an awesome series ahead.

Eliza wakes up in the hospital not knowing what happened and then it slowly comes back to her. She won a competition to be the lead singer for a band and go on tour for them and one night she was attacked and left for dead after a concert. Now her brother is calling in a favor from a friend he used to serve with so she can be protected while he investigates what happened to her. Renegade aka Sam is her bodyguard for when she's released. She demands to go back to her life so they let her however the first concert back she has a near miss with her attacker again and is put in lock down. Sparks fly between her and Sam while they are at his place however he can't make promises for anything long term. Will they finally catch whomever is after her? Will Sam realize Eliza is perfect for him?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. This was a short story so a quick read but I enjoyable. Eliza is attacked and her brother Ron (or Sparrow) pulls in a favour from Renegade to protect his sister whilst they try and find her attacker. There is a bit of action as Eliza tries to get back to work (as a singer) and Renegade tries to protect her. A little bit predictable but still enjoyable. There are some steamy adult scenes as Eliza and Renegade determine where if they should cross the line of their professional protector/protectee relationship.
A few editing errors, but didn't distract from the story. I really enjoyed learning about the other Mercenaries and am looking forward to reading their stories.

This book held my attention from the very beginning. There’s a lot of action and some hot scenes between a very strong alpha male and a feisty female. Eliza is a singer with a band and is targeted by an unknown assailant, she ends up in hospital and her brother decides that she needs a bodyguard, he just happens to know who - Renegade. A very well told story with a lot of intrigue and a bit of suspense. I must admit that the identity of the perpetrator took me by surprise as it wasn’t who l thought it was! Enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the next one.

This was an awesome book that I really enjoyed. The story and characters grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading. I loved Renegade and Eliza and watching them grow together, they were well written and went well together. Sparks fly between them and they need to put aside their differences and work together. I found this book amazing with great word building making me feel apart of the story and watching it unfold in front of me. A definite must read for any fan and I can't wait to read more from this author!!!

Renegade by Raven White is the first book in the Mercenaries series. This is a well written book that will sweep you along with the story.
The main characters in this story had such a great chemistry. It was brilliant to read about them together and I liked their interactions immediately. The author did a great job with the story too. It had the right amount of action and romance to make it exciting.
It was a nice easy story to read. The kind of book that you can lose yourself in for few hours. For me this is the perfect lazy afternoon read, hot alpha male, feisty female to keep him on his toes. I am looking forward to reading more from this series.

Renegade by Raven White is the first book in The Mercenaries Series.
When I was a young hormonal teenager I wished I had an older brother because then he would have friends and at least one of them was bound to be hot and Eliza was lucky enough to have that older brother with the hot friend who also is former military and extremely alpha.
Renegade knows what he has to do and that's protect Eliza but the pull they have towards one another cannot be denied.
This story has a little bit of everything and I couldn't put it down. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

A great start to a new series...
Renegade is the first book in The Mercenaries Series. I really enjoyed this story. The characters were well developed, likable, and had great chemistry together. A nice easy read.
Eliza & Renegade have instant undeniable chemistry that they both try to fight, knowing it can go nowhere with both their careers, and the fact Eliza’s brother worked with, & is close friends/brothers in arms, with Renegade.
The threat to Eliza’s life forces them to a safe house where Renegade can protect her more effectively & their chemistry gets to a point it can’t be denied.
But they struggle with what happens when the threat has passed and they return to reality.

Book one in The Mercenaries Series by a fairly new Author this is the first book I have read by her. This is mercenary Sam “Renegade” McGill and singer Eliza McKay's story there is suspense, drama, danger, attempted murder, twists, turns, and romance. I want to read the next book. Well written and a great read. Renegade is ex -service man and group of men who works to protect. A friend calls in a favor to protect his sister. Eliza is the sister of the friend, who is in the hospital from an assault. They need to keep her safe till they get the one who did it. Eliza is a singer of a band that she won to sing for. They fall for each other, but she's off limits to him. Great story line😯😊😁

A fast romantic read that was full of drama and suspense. The main characters had an instant connection and intense chemistry. The storyline was fast and action packed that kept me reading. I enjoyed the storyline. This was the first I’ve read from the author and look forward to seeing what she writes next.

Renegade (The Mercenaries Series Book 1) by Raven White was a super steamy read. This was a quick and steamy read. The story was good and the twist was interesting. Eliza was a spunky character read, I loved that she was not a whiny submissive character. Renegade was steam and alpha male energy from the first point of view.
