The Sanguine Crown #2

Butterfly Effect

Rate this book
Vengeance has a name, and it’s Ryan Callan.

Drowning in a wave of grief and guilt, Ryan pushes herself to the limit to track down Maxim Smyrnoi and make him bleed. Used to going at it alone, she doesn’t want or need anyone getting in her way. She’s willing to do anything to capture her prey.

But Ryan finds herself caught up in not one, but two games of cat and mouse. For every step closer to Maxim she gets, Crown Prince Nickolai and the Royal Guard are hot on her heels.

Can Ryan set aside her lust for revenge in order to find justice? Or will her anger toward Nickolai and the rest of the Sanguine Court push her into a trap of her own making?

With Maxim taunting her at every turn, Ryan will have to be the epitome of an ice queen to not let the man get under her skin…

If you loved Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer, Vampire Academy by Richelle Meade, or Slayer by Kiersten White, then lower your fangs because vampires are back, and they're more enticing than ever.

Butterfly Effect is the second book in the Sanguine Crown series by Susan Harris. This new young adult vampire series pays homage to the classics, while breathing fresh and revitalized life back into the genre.

Susan Harris is a writer from Cork in Ireland. An avid reader, she quickly grew to love books in the supernatural/fantasy genre. When she is not writing or reading, she loves music, oriental cultures, tattoos, anything Disney and psychology. If she wasn't a writer she would love to be a FBI profiler or a PA for Dave Grohl or Jared Leto.

Ryan is back in the seond installment of this page-turning, favorite new YA Vampire series for 2020 and is more beautifully damaged than ever! Having been left with one of Susan Harris' signature evil cliffhangers I know that fans will be as eager to get their hand on this as I was.

As I am a strong believer in NO SPOILERS in reviews, there is very little that I can say about the actual story other than if you liked book 1, you will love book 2, and you will be wanting to get book as soon 3 as soon as it is available.

If you love vampires, in particular books such as the Vampire Academy, and perhaps you a feeling a little lost after tearing through Midnight Sun in the 24 hours after it came out, then you should pick this up. Well actually you should pick up book 1 first, so that this makes sense, and as the eBook is FREE right now on all platforms you really have nothing to lose!

Another easy 5 stars from me and this is 100% Melanie's Muses Certified!

Ryan's story contines in the second installment in this brilliant new take on vampires.
So much I loved about this would be too spoilery (that's a word right?) to post but if you liked book one you'll like this one as well. The way Susan writes the emotions of these characters is so real you can find yourself relating to multiple characters at times depending on the situation.
If you like vampire novels you'll love this series. It's original with a charm all it's own that will leave you wanting more.

It's funny how I went from finding Edison as annoying and a jerk to being an endearing brother.

That's what happens when Ryan throws her entering being into something, fighting tooth and nail, and shouting truths until the blindfolds are lifted and her peers see the world through her eyes. They see for the first time how they're divided and not a unit. How hard she worked and could take down multiple rogues single-handedly due to her dedication, perseverance, strength. For once, she's respected, still intimidating, and vulnerable.

Omg this is absolutely fantastic

This is book 2 of The Sanguine Crown series and it just gets better and better, I absolutely love these characters. Ryan is torn with guilt over her friend's death and her love for Nickioli. Will they ever get it together I hope so. Her revenge is so much it is eating away at her. I really hope book 3 will be soon. Absolutely fantastic book A MUST read

As in good Susan Harris fashion, this book also ends in a cliffhanger. I hate and love those at the same time. I'm now sitting at the edge of my chair, screaming a heartfelt noooooooo into the void. Ryan's story is a gripping one and I need to know how her story will end.

She did it again

Susan Harris keeps getting better and better. Again she has written another page turner on the edge of your seat thriller. I am laughing, crying and bitting my nail the whole time. Can't wait for the next book to see what happens.
