Life’s not all fun and games…

Hitwoman Maggie Lee has faced off against some bad people in the past, but nothing she has ever faced before has prepared her for her new assignment. Nothing.

What could be worse than working at a kid’s game center?

Flashing lights, beeping machines, screaming kids on a sugar high, and the world’s biggest claw machine may be the combination that finally pushes Maggie over the edge, as she tries to hold down a legit job as a cover for her first PI case.

Not that her downtime offers any respite. While she’s “off” she has to deal with family drama, dangerous dancers, a weird job assignment from the mob boss, and a VERY high stakes poker game.

Thankfully she’s got her animals to confide in, a bodyguard who’s looking out for her and a certain police detective on her side.

Maggie’s got to deal with the hand she’s been dealt…but there’s no guarantee she’ll come out the winner.

Okay I’m just going to say it... Hitwoman Plays Games is my absolute favourite story in this series!!!
Want to know why???

Okay so I’ve loved this series from the very beginning, it’s had me in stitches laughing more often than not, it’s had me cringing, embarrassed, angry, sad... basically all the feels and hey this time was not different in that respect it had all the emotional pulls as usual but this time it had Maggie being more ‘Maggie’ but in a grown up way, instead of always taking care of everyone else and minding everyone else’s feelings Maggie actually let her own feelings show throughout this mystery it was interesting and fantastic at the same time... interesting because well Maggie has always been a bit of a doormat where others are concerned and she always just bottles her own feelings up it’s about time she let her feelings show on her face because being hurt by those who are supposed to love you sucks and they should know your hurt by their actions.
And fantastic because it feels like Maggie has turned a bit of a corner personally and that had me cheering her on more so than normal and I always cheer Maggie on.
As for her menagerie of talking pets they always make me smile...
and the mystery was a jumbled mess that Maggie figured out eventually as well as helping Patrick out to lol I do love how Maggie manages to juggle so much at once.

Poor Maggie! She’s up to her eyeballs with responsibility as usual. This series keeps getting better and better with each book. Love Maggie’s crazy family and all her animals. So many laughs (every scene God is in), a shocker or two, and lots of mystery kept me up all night!

Maggie is starting her new job with Lawrence and is thrown into an investigation that tears into the family and Delveccio has her tasked with retrieving an item for him. The men in her life are pulling her in different directions. She has to work with Patrick in a fake job, Angel drops a bombshell, & Gino is making no bones about his attraction to her. Teaming up with her pet menagerie she navigates the dangers of her new job and tries to hold the family together. Revelations about the past and a new addition to the family round out this emotional story.

Wish I could talk to my dog like Maggie does with all the animals. A clever idea by the author to add a bit of magic to the mix. In this episode of this funny and endearing series Maggie is asked to save Angel. Of course, she would do anything to help anyone but to save Angel after he tells her he is seeing someone special, takes a special person. That’s our Maggie. She must play poker against a cop and if she loses, Angel could be arrested for a car accident. Well, while this plot is going on, there is another one where she is working in a Kid’s Game Place. She is supposed to seduce the father of one of the kids so she had to go to The Corset Shop and be outfitted by Loretta, her aunt. It is a fun read but I wasn’t ready for it to end. Never am. I love the series so I know there will be a Book 25 in the near future. Start with Book #1 and work your way into Maggie’s life.

Maggie and menagerie are back! This time she's caught up helping Griswald (yes the US Marshal!), Delveccios (to save Angel!), helping Loretta (risque dancers at THE CORSET causing accidents), working for Patrick (and helping him solve a drug case), as well as care for Katie and all the animals. It's a wonder she can keep it all straight. Better still, she manages to keep secrets and help everyone else without killing anyone!
But you want to know the problem with this book? It's over way too quickly! I laugh when I read Maggie's story and wish it would not end so soon. It is always a wonderful escape and a treat to read one of JB's books! Fantastic fun!

Maggie once again finds herself in a predicament. The woman never catches a break. It seems she's always juggling several balls at once. From taking care of Katie her niece, her multitude of animals and her family there's not a lot of left over time for anything else. This book like the others in the series have many laugh out loud moments and hold your breath moments. It's exciting and dangerous at every turn. Maggie has several men her in life but seems at some point every one let's her down. It all comes out ok in the end but the journey is a good hang on kind of time. If you want to thoroughly entertained this series is just the one.

Another winner! I loved reading this story of Maggie's misadventures in criminal activity. She does it all in this novel, from working undercover to rescue a child from a bad father, to casing the DA's house, and playing poker. This one has it all - a good story, a bit of humor, and a bit of angst as Maggie has to interact with men she's had prior relationships with.

If you enjoy humorous mysteries, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Did not put it down. This was a great installment in the series. There was some closure but still a couple things left hanging for Maggie to deal with in the future (hopefully near future). Hints towards things happening for her Aunts. It is hard to not give spoilers so basically it is fun story that will definitely interest anyone. Best if the previous books have been read first as it does continue from the previous books.
It made me laugh and tugged at the heart strings at times.
Happy to see the way things went for some of her family and where they seem to be going for others!

The Games She Plays...To Win!

Maggie Lee is back, and this time she's working undercover in an arcade, to get a little girl from her father, who happens to be wanted by the law, and give her to her mother. But her murder mentor, Patrick Milligan is also undercover in the arcade on a drug case. Add to that Templeton wants Maggie to help him win a poker game, where the stakes are high! Can she rescue the little girl from her father? Will she blow Patrick's cover? Can she win the poker game? Read it, and find out. You'll be glad you did!

Cant wait for the next one!

I stumbled onto this series not long ago and I absolutely love it! The animals, the family, the forces pulling Maggie in a million directions; each book gets better than the last. I’d love for Maggie to have a little peace and quiet simply for the sake of her sanity, but I love her shenanigans even more. Keep up the great work!

Maggie is off to explore new adventures on her first case. She has to juggle work danger, talking animals, and family drama. As scary as that sounds facing past relationships may be even scarier. Another fun ride!

Confidence

Maggie is starting to exhibit more confidence. Damn if that's not attractive. Hope she keeps it up. Game house and a game of cards make for an entertaining book.
