Tilly is a witch . . . at least, she thinks she is. All she really knows is that she has powers she shouldn't, and that the cruel women she escaped from—who definitely are witches—will stop at nothing to make her their prisoner again because of those powers.
But Tilly has fallen in with a strange group—a pack of werewolves. The pack wants to protect her; none of them more so than Dominic, the alpha's kind-hearted son. Tilly thinks she might be falling for him, but she can't help being fascinated by his brooding, mysterious half-brother Spencer.
Caught between the two, Tilly isn't sure anymore what she's most scared of: the witches hunting her down, or her own heart betraying her.
Loved it! I was a little surprised that I enjoyed it so much! I've read plenty of books about werewolves and/or witches, so it wasn't novelty that hooked me. I still feel like Lynch succeded in making something of her own here, but I can't quite put my finger on it...
When I find myself thinking about the characters while I'm working I know it's an intriguing book! I was drawn in from the first page and I haven't gotten out yet, although I've finished reading. The cliffhanger ending didn't help with that...!
I loved that we got both Tilly's and Spencer's point of view (Tilly's in first person narrative, Spencer's in third person), and I really liked them as characters, as well as Dominic and Desmond. I'm not over the moon happy with the eternal triangle thing, but I think the author solved it to my satisfaction. Now I need the next book, please!
(I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.)
This book takes off at a run and doesn’t let up until the final page is turned. The author has created an intriguing story that is filled with complex characters that drive the story. The imagery and emotions the characters feel jump of the page - I felt I was a part of the story. I look forward to reading what happens next.
ARC RECEIVED FOR HONEST REVIEW Wow !! this book really pulled me in and wrapped me in its spell. I absolutely loved it !! It was full of drama telling the story of Tilly, a witch running from the cruelty of her so called family who is found by Spencer who isn't what he seems. They both have a pretty big secret each which leads to a lot of drama, and the fact that his half brother, Dominic also wants to be more than friends with TIlly doesn't tame Spencers beast. They both want her and she loves them both but in different ways and it's not until they know each others secrets that she realises who she loves as a friend and who she loves as a lover. Such an amazing story extremely well written, it had me laughing and crying and hating at times !!! BRILLIANT !!
From reading the summary, I thought that the book would be good. I wasn’t expecting it to be great!! I was hooked by the first chapter and I couldn’t let it go until I was done with it!! It was so well written, that I was keeping congratulating the author silently, and I was anxious the whole time. One of the other great things was that it wasn’t tiring, something I find very important in a book. Congratulations to this new author, and I hope I read her next books, as well as other works of her, soon.
Run is the first in a very different kind of supernatural world, where witches and werewolves exist and demons can come to the human realm to run rampant. I liked what the author created, where there was all kinds of magical potential, both light and dark, motivated by intentions. I am always a sucker for werewolf dynamics and this was a pack full of unrest and strong personalities, about to explode with conflict.
I struggled getting into the story, not really certain what was going on and if I really cared. The story is dual narrated by Tilly, who is on the run from her evil adoptive family who just want to use her for their nefarious purposes and by Spencer, the unwanted lone werewolf who is struggling with his role on the outskirts of his pack. I felt like a romance was going to brew between the two, but their interactions were awkward and combative, not at all leading towards the love I was hoping for. Instead, it seemed like Tilly was leaning towards another love interest who was well developed and engaging, which made me doubt everything I was anticipating and super confused.
Keep in mind that this is the first book in a trilogy and ends with a huge cliffhanger where everything is a mess and I have no idea how the characters will get out of it. This is the perfect series started for anyone who likes dark and gritty paranormal stories with strong characters and plenty of conflict and angst.
I received Run as a free copy from the author/publisher. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion.
I was reading a pdf copy which constantly changed fonts (to discourage piracy, I suppose)-- this made the reading difficult and I distracted from potential grammar and punctuation issues; for this reason, I recommend reading the Look Inside feature at Amazon, to scan the first chapters and determine readability for yourself.
There was one obvious continuity issue, but it only halted my reading progress for a few minutes (as I back-tracked to check the problem was in the story, not my comprehension). While I wish there was more character depth, this was a terrific YA story with a unique, intriguing plot line.
Once I adjusted to the fonts, I began to enjoy the story and characters. While the reading was great, and a good bargain for the pricing-vs-word count, the abrupt, cliffhanger ending was very disappointing. I'd read the next book of the series, and hope for a better conclusion, but I'll admit I'm curious as to how this all will end and the pricing would make it worth it to buy books one and two at the same time.
Tilly finally escapes her captors and runs for freedom. The forest, usually her friend, seems alien and full of dark surprises but just as she thinks she’ll succumb to the darkness she is rescued. Three handsome brothers are among her saviours and it doesn’t take her long to lose her heart but with a past that is hell-bent on catching up with her can she afford to stay and risk her friends’ lives? This paranormal story is a little different, and it offers a new perspective on the young adult and paranormal genres. Lynch unwinds the story at a fairly fast pace but allows us to indulge in a little romance in between. The imagery is full and expansive without going into long description and the scenes are vibrant. I’ve read books by this author before and she has a very fresh and lively character development skill. Tilly, Spencer, and Dominick are easy to relate to and very likable and I’m looking forward to seeing Tilly get her man in the next instalment.
Tilly runs from her crazy and demonic adoptive family. They don’t do anything but hold her captive. She ends up in wolfs territory, and is taken into to safety. Dom is the Alpha son. He is kind hearted and very gentle. Spencer is another son but he is moody and brooding. He finds Tilly and vows to keep her safe. Tilly doesn’t think anyone can keep her safe from the witches. Dom and Spencer both via for her affection and she really doesn’t know what to do. Can this clan keep her safe and the witches at bay, or will they all fall? Excellent read. The storyline is like no other. Very graphic and very heartfelt.

I was given this e. book for an Honest Review , for my Blog. Promoting Authors, Books & Reviews Having never read H.G. Lynch before , I wasn't sure what to expect. I am so glad I was given this opportunity, Good New to me Author. I wll be reading all her book's from now on. This Book is Clean. ( Not used to that)!! Yet it held my interest all day, I read it in 1 day! The emotions from the characters are pure and I could feel all that, I Love when an Author can pull me right into the story as if I am right there, watching it all feeling it all.
Run, the first book in the Caged Trilogy, is a fantastic book! I will be reading more books by this author as I am highly impressed with her writing. I could not put this book down once I started reading it. It caused me to feel so many emotions while reading it. It is very well written and easy to read and follow the story line. Reading the first part of this series that entails the going ons between Spencer, Tilly and Dominic had me rushing to read the second installment. I will definitely be recommending this book to others!
Run (Caged Trilogy Book 1) by H.G. Lynch is an awesome story that I have read. This is book number one in this awesome start to a brand new series written by a brand new author for me to read. I loved reading this story and I am so hooked on it can not wait to read the rest of this awesome series. I highly recommend this awesome story to everyone who loves reading about witches and wolf shifters.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
I picked this up because I liked the idea of the blurb and the cover called to me. I loved Tilly from the start and even as the story wove its many twists and turns, I couldn’t help but get pulled along for the ride. Spencer, Dom, all of them were so expertly crafted that they felt real. You ended up cheering along for them, even when you knew that things might not end happily. I’m so glad I have book two in the trilogy because I need to know what happens next after that explosive ending. An excellent start to a series and one that I recommend!
Wow! This one had me hooked till the very end! I loved how fast paced this story was and so full of different twists and turns. The characters were entertaining to read and I can’t wait to see what happens next. The only thing I didn’t care for was the relationships the main character had I didn’t like the “love triangle” aspect. I’m definitely interested to see where this story goes with the cliff hanger ending.
Tilly is on the run from the evil witches who had kept her prisoner for her powers. Passing out from injury and exhaustion, she doesn't realize she's in werewolf territory. Saved by one of the pack members, she awakens bandaged and disoriented. After getting to know the pack, she knows that the evil witches are going try to get her back by any means necessary. Evil doesn't stop from trying to concur good! Loved this book. Gotta read the rest. Go Tilly!!! Kick some evil butt!!
I really enjoyed this book. I was actually getting annoyed with how the main female character was treating the two male leads at times. But for me that just shows how well the writing and story is because I was getting so involved in the story, it almost felt like I was there. It's also an interesting twist to the end of this one. I can't wait to read book two!
New to this author but absolutely loved this book. Love and betrayal are just some of the emotions portrayed in this story. If you love wolves and witches then this is the book for you. This story flows so easily that you are finished without realizing you couldn't put it down. Excited for the next one.
Poor Tilly runs away from the 3 witches that adopted her as a small child. They use her and abuse her so she runs off, right into a werewolf camp. There, she meets Spencer who is the black sheep of the family for a few different reasons. I love storyline, suspense, interaction between characters, and drama. Can't wait to read the next book.
This is a really interesting take on werewolves. There is a strong Romeo and Juliet aspect going on here. It is entertaining and moves at a good pace. The emotions from the MC felt genuine based on her back story. The editing leaves a little to be desired. Some missing words, wrong words, or grammar issues. Not enough to be completely distracting. I would be interested in continuing this series.
Lots of action and adventure in this well written story. This is the first of a trilogy and does have a cliffhanger. Lots of teen angst happening throughout.
I absolutely loved this book! I loved the dynamic between the characters and the story. I can't wait to see how Tilly will evolve as a character. I loved that it's a long book so it's a very satisfying read. Even with that, I can't wait to read the rest of this trilogy.
The author kindly provided me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I have given it 3.5 stars.
This is a very good young adult romance, which features lots of paranormal action you don't want to miss!
It's action packed and thrilling from the very beginning, pulling you in to thick of the action from the very first word.
Run is very promising start to a series that holds so much potential, I can't wait to read the next installment. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good paranormal romance filled with action and drama. Go one click it now!
Tilly has never had a moment to herself. Ever since the witches sunk their claws into her, she's had to their bidding. Deep inside, she detests the fact that they've made her do such wretched things. Darkness and light war within her, often forcing her to choose sides. She wants nothing to do with the darkness and does everything possible to ignore it. That's easier said than done, though. When the opportunity for freedom presents itself, she dives head-first into getting as far away as possible from the witches. What she never anticipated, however, was running into a pack of wolves, never once knowing they'd change her life forever.
From the moment you start reading Run, you're plummeted into the dark and twisted world Tilly lives in. This is a girl who's put up with so much pain and heartache that she wants nothing more than to end it. Her emotions, her uncertainties, even the thin sliver of hope living within her pop off the page. That's how vivid the author paints every picture she creates. You see and feel everything these characters go through every step of the way.
I dove into this series without knowing where the journey would take me. And that, lovelies, is the beauty of a good book. It captures your attention in ways you never expect. When an author takes time to craft the world his or her characters inhabit, it shows. HG has done this. She wants you to experience the world through Tilly and Spencer's eyes. Yes, the world is far more chaotic than we think it should be, but it's that chaos that drives the characters forward.
With every step Tilly and her friends take, we get to see their world change. At times, it's hunky-dory. Sometimes, it's far worse than we could have imagined. Tilly's determination and her urge to survive are what drive her to find the happiness the witches denied her at every turn. It's awesome to see her fight off their advances. The thought of giving into the darkness scares her. It would scare anyone, in all honesty.
What's in store next for her and the others? I think we'll see soon in book two. Are you willing to dive in and find out? I know I am!
Running through the woods one night, Tilly takes a nose dive and ends up in a werewolf camp. She had been running for her life from the women who had adopted her when she was a young child. They were witches and they were very cruel to her, making her raise demons and basically torturing her when she didn't do as told. That had been her life for years until she escaped and then was rescued by Spencer, the black sheep of the werewolf camp. He was the son of the alpha, but his mother had run off with him and when she died, Spencer was brought back to his father to live. He had been a small child when he came back and his father didn't treat him as nicely as his half-brothers, taking out his years of anger and frustration of his son instead. Tilly connects with Spencer like no one else in the camp, but insists that she doesn't care for him. Spencer's half-brother, Dominic, has been getting very close to her and it makes Spencer jealous. Realizing he has feelings for Tilly is a fight for him since she is always with Dominic. To make matters worse, no one knows what Tilly is or what she's running from, but it could put them all in danger.
I love rooting for the under dog. Those kind of books suck me in and I couldn't put this one down. I read it in one day. It was fascinating to watch the romance between Tilly and Spencer grow even though they keep trying to push the other away. And things only get more complicated when the past comes out to play, but Spencer never abandons her. He is always there for her. It's sweet considering how distant he is to everyone else. He's a very complicated character. Tilly, however, is a rather naive girl since she was guarded and put under lock and key for years. So having boys all over her like that is something new that she must sort out for herself. Her feelings are confusing and I could see where they would be for someone who's never even had a boyfriend before. This is a must read!!!
This book drags you in from the very first pages, with main character Tilly running from something, or someone, although we aren't sure exactly what, or who, it is until much later in the story.
I love stories with supernatural creatures, and this one was no exception. We not only have witches, but also werewolves. Tilly finds herself involved with a group of people who have a secret, one they don't want getting out for fear of retaliation. But Tilly also has a secret, one which she isn't willing to share with them, but for very different fears.
This isn't just a paranormal story, it also has its fair share of romance. Tilly finds herself in the middle of something which she will need to dig deep to work through. There are more than a few twists and turns throughout which make her choice a little bit harder. She needs to work out if she can trust anyone, or is she truly on her own?
This story is written very well, all of the characters are engaging, and I honestly didn't want it to end. The author leaves us with a cliffhanger ending, and I am desperate to know what happens next!
Great story, with promises of something greater to come. Bring on book 2!
Many thanks to the author for providing me with a copy in return for an honest review.
It took me a while to decide if I want to give this book three or four stars. But then it's me having issues with the heroine and not with the story so I decided for a very well written, captivating and compelling story, with very complex characters and unexpected twists, a background that played in my head like a movie and decidedly bad villains (I always enjoy those). Even though I could have strangled Tilly at least twice for her extreme dumbness and cruelty that I can't excuse with her age and inexperience. If you don't like love triangles you will have your problems too. And Dominic is just too good to be true, if it wasn't a fantasy novel I would have felt him too much. Spencer on the other hand is great, completely and all around, with all his flaws and all his darkness. I absolutely rooted for him! The book ends with a mean cliffhanger, forces you to read on quite nicely and since the love triangle is sorted out by then (at least I really hope it is) I will definitely look into the next book of this series.
What an enchanting read! I was completely caught up in the chase from the very beginning of this awesome book! The writing was very descriptive, the storyline was intriguing and the characters were very complex. I loved being entrenched in the underworld of shifters and witches! There were a few times I just wanted to slap Tilly on the back of her teenage head, but she was still a loveable character. The twists and turns in this story took me for a pleasant roller coaster ride that I thoroughly enjoyed. There is a gigantic mountain of a cliffhanger at the end though! I'm so glad I had the second installment in this series or else I'd be in pure agony at the end! All in all, I absolutely enjoyed this amazing book by HG Lynch!
Something witchy!!! Welcome to Tilly's world the only problem is she was adopted by a claim of evil witches that abused her from day one. Once she became of age she ran away only to find herself in a world of magic and shape-shifters. There she met Spencer, he can relate to her because he is not excepted by his pack. He is drawn to her, but the only problem is he is not the only one and the biggest threat of all is that they do not know what Tilly's is and that can destroy the whole pack. This is what I live for all paranormal, all time great read!!!!
I was given this book in exchange for my honest review.
What an amazing read! I was drawn into the world that H.G. Lynch created in Run from the start, I did not want to put it down, it left me wondering what could possibly happen next, there was so many secrets & plenty of drama, I loved it, I have to admit, that I even ugly cried once or twice . Her characters Tilly, a witch on the run from the people who adopted her (nicest thing I can say about them) Spencer & Dominic werewolves are beautifully written, it was such an amazing enjoyable read.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
This is the first book in the Caged trilogy and it's a great paranormal romance full of non-stop action and adventure and I loved reading this! This grabbed hold of my attention and didn't let go until the very end and I loved all of the twists and turns that kept me guessing as to what was going to happen next. My favorite paranormal romance stories are the ones where there's a mix of all kinds of supernatural creatures and this book has plenty of those. This is a well written story that I highly recommend for anyone to read and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
