Good Night New Jersey highlights the Atlantic Ocean and sandy beaches, fishing boats, rafting the Delaware Water Gap, blueberry farms in the Pine Barrens, Lucy the Elephant, Asbury Park, Adventure Aquarium, Lakota Wolf Preserve, lighthouses, and more. Welcome to the Garden State! This lovely children's book captures the true spirit of New Jersey. Young readers will discover all the attractions and iconic landmarks this diverse state has to offer.
This book is part of the bestselling Good Night Our World series, which includes hundreds of titles exploring iconic locations and exciting, child-friendly themes.
Many of North America’s most beloved regions are artfully celebrated in these board books designed to soothe children before bedtime while instilling an early appreciation for North America's natural and cultural wonders. Each book stars a multicultural group of people visiting the featured area’s attractions as rhythmic language guides children through the passage of both a single day and the four seasons while saluting the iconic aspects of each place.
Definitely a homer rating. Steers clear of Northern New Jersey, which is probably for the best. A blatant reference to Bruce Springsteen is all I ever needed.
I don't normally review my kids' books on here, but Maxwell got a few really cute ones over the weekend. This one was a bit too expensive ($10 for a board book is nuts!) but it was adorable and actually reminded me of the cool things about living in NJ, which is easy to forget with our corrupt government and overpopulation. This book is a winner for anyone who wants to introduce their kids to teh idea of home!
Whether you’re a New Jersey native or a new resident to New Jersey, this is the perfect good-night story to read to your little ones. The 20 page board book (preschoolers and above) covers all major/recognizable locations throughout New Jersey allowing your little ones to get a sense of location and history. This picture book provides kids with the feeling that not just them but their whole state is now going to sleep. From the Jersey Shore, to George Washington and the Delaware River, to Princeton and all the way to the Palisades, all of Jersey so now falling fast asleep. Short and sweet, I recommend this picture book to any parent/guardian in New Jersey looking for a good bedtime story. (4/5 stars – Really Liked It)
A cute book for kids who are from New Jersey and will recognize some of the places mentioned and be introduced to new ones. Thought the writing was a bit strained for whatever reason...it's a kids book, it didn't have to be that serious. It just felt clunky.
Highlights some of the gems in the crown jewel of the union that is New Jersey. Though it doesn't cover as varied a spectrum of the region's offerings as 123 New Jersey, still fantastic. It's hard to fault it for being a bit shore-centric, because you can't fault the Jersey Shore.
The image of the boardwalk amusement rides that would be destroyed four years after the book's publication during Hurricane Sandy tug at the heartstrings. The inclusion of a Bruce Springsteen lyric, with the young saxophonist representing the since departed Clarence Clemons is also now a touching tribute.
Bold daring move, including anything involving Camden in a children's book.
Until I read this book, I was unaware that there was a reenactment of George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River every Christmas. Despite living in the great state of New Jersey for almost my entire life, there was still something interesting and amazing to learn thanks to this tome.
Mommy read this to me before my afternoon nap. I really liked looking at the pictures. The elephant got me really excited. The book is also a good size for me to hold on my own, which I love doing now, even though I sometimes drop them on my head.
I love this board book series this particular book features the state of New Jersey and highlights of what it is known for. My favorites include the seashore and the lighthouses. A fun read before visiting the state.
