"Something New" is the first book I read from this new author, Ashlee Rose, which is part of the series "Entwined In You". Thanks to the author, this book came to my hands and was read in less than 12h. It's an addictive book that keeps you hooked and takes time with the characters, something I liked.

Freya Greene, 28, is a young woman who starts her life from scratch after catching her boyfriend sleeping with a girl. She moves to London and starts her new life looking for a job she finds in You Magazine, where her friend works. One day she walks into a furniture store thinking of re-decorating her apartment and stumbles into Ethan, a blond boy with hazel eyes with the one that meets later. But in her life appears another man, Carter Cole, owner of Cole Enterprise as well as You Magazine and City Publishing House. But that's not all, as her ex-boyfriend Jake still haunts her.

Freya is sweet, young and is upset by her past relationship, although she does not fall down or cry, on the other side she changes her life and decides to put all that away and fight for her own dream. She is a perfect protagonist in her attitude and in the way she faces life and anyone else. There was a part that I loved about her in a few moments that stopped Carter, it was great.
The other main character in the story is Mr. Cole, 34, is sexy, with money and a good job as CEO. This man who spends the money to make Freya feel pleased, OMG! with the gifts he gave her I would feel pleased too. But I didn't expect that ending, Mr. Cole!

After finding her boyfriend cheating on her, Freya leaves him and moves to London. New house, new job and new life.
And there she meets Carter, her new boss. Her attraction to him is off the charts. Until he tells her that he has flavours of the month girls. And she will be one of them if she wants to. What?!?!?! 😳😳
You will have to read this book to know if Freya accepts.
Carter will make you think about Christian Grey or Gideon Cross. So if you liked those books, this one is for you. I must admit I had my doubts about Carter throughout the whole book🤔. But I like him and I will support him until I know about his truth💪🏼. Believe me, the cliffhanger will make you start the second book fast.
We'll see if Carter and Freya can compare to other epic couples. They are on the right path though

Poor Freya, she didn’t get an easy ride & Carter has a lot to do to redeem himself after that cliffhanger (which I didn’t see coming). I’m still rooting for Ethan so I’m off to dive into book 2 & see what happens. Great job Ashlee. 👍🏻😍

Something New by @ashleeroseauthor was fast paced and easy to read. The main characters Freya and Carter were so good together and they had so much emotion and passion. You can feel the sexual tension and heartache with each page.

This one star book alllllll revolves around this exchange:

I have flavours of the month shall we say, seven girls who I alternate between, the next two months will be you. I don’t see any of the other girls, you don’t see anyone else. Once our two months are up, you go back to your day to day life and once your cycle comes around again, I will call you. You will be paid generously in a wage and gifts.

description

“I like to fuck pretty girls, I like to have a selection so I don’t get bored. I like to wine and dine them and show them a good time. You haven’t got to worry about having your heartbroken, we both get what we want,”

description

And also this one:

So, when I left I called my girls over, I sat down and told them that I needed a break, I needed to work through some things, something I feel very strongly about…”

description

“So, I said I would put them on six months full pay until I know how this is going, this being me and you.”

description

And she responds with:

description

That's it????

description

The only thing he even says that's nice is

“You’re late,” I said with a furrowed brow, he stepped towards me and kissed me on the cheek, “You’re stunning,”

That's not even an original line.

A fast paced read that jumps right into the action and doesn’t slow down.
A romance between Freya and Carter that uncovers truths that Freya really didn’t want to be real.
I’m unsure at this point how I feel about Carter, but I’m hoping that he’s genuine. I’m intrigued to find out more in book 2.

3 STARS!!

I read Promise Me by Ashley rose and that story has a lot of reference to Carter and Freya so I wanted to read this book as well.

This story revolves around Freya who has recently come out of a relationship with her boyfriend since highschool who was cheating on her and Carter who owns the company where Freya works and has six girls as flavour of the month and wants freya to be the seventh.

There is also a love triangle between Ethan, freya and Carter and sensible option is obviously Ethan but love is not sensible so she chooses Carter.

The story is good and very detailed. I really enjoyed the friendship between Laura and freya.and I'm looking forward to read the next work because this book ends with a very unexpected cliffhanger and also in the next book there will be expectedly more about Ethan and freya.

This was an easy and light read.
It is the first book I read by this author and it kept me enthralled. I recommend this book if you like a steamy romance. It ends on a cliffhanger, and what a cliffhanger!
I didn't worry about the editing, there were not so much errors.

I chose not to give this book a rating as I felt like it was very hard to get through. I normally don't have a problem with insta-love but in this case it was not working for me. The writing to me, was very choppy and did not flow very well, especially the inner monologue of the heroine. I felt bad for her situation, but even her blog entries were juvenile in my opinion. Overall, I am disappointed in this book and I don't say that very often. I wish I liked this more but unfortunately I did not.

It was okay.
There were what I would call a few annoying editing issues.
It would have a whole conversation in a paragraph, not start a new line when a different person spoke, so it was hard to tell it it was the same person speaking or a response.
I read it on Amazon kindle, I'm not sure if it's the same on other formats.

It's a bit of a triangle, 2 men are interested but not a strong one.
Small other woman drama.
Cliffhanger.... Trilogy.

3.5 Stars for me.

This was a very fast paced book with lots of heartache, sexual tension, and even a little bit of humor thrown in the mix. I honestly found myself hoping that Freya could finally catch a break, the ending was a huge surprise to me.
Ashlee Rose is a new to me author, and I am so glad she reached out to me! Ready dive into book two to see what happens next.

What a great book! A fast read that still has everything a good book needs to get you invested in the characters stories. I really enjoyed the story, the progression of the relationships in the book and I got pulled into it very quickly and had a hard time putting the book down. The writing made me feel what the character was feeling and I love that in a book. Would definitely recommend reading it.

I can't wait to read more of Freya and Carter's story!

Something New by Ashlee Rose indeed was something exciting for me to read. Freya is starting over away from her familiarity and into the big city after her boyfriend cheats on her. Freya is put through many trials and tribulations, which leave you hoping that she’ll catch a break come to the next book. There are two men after her heart, Ethan, a regular guy who seems to care about her, and Carter, the boss of the company she works. I can’t wait to continue reading the next part of this series!

I absolutely loved this book. It hooked me from the start and only got better. It ripped my heart out, put it back together only to rip it out again. Freya & Carter together was steamy and their story made me swoon over and over. I definitely need to read the next books in this series.

Good steamy story

Good story, enjoyable read, felt a little like fifty shades at times, I sometimes had to skip the steamy bits. Good twist at the end.

4.5⭐️.
Freya leaves her home after catching her boyfriend of 12 years cheating on her in her house. She moves to London, gets a new job, meets her neighbor Ethan and goes on a date with him, and prepares for the wedding of one of her best friends.
In her work, she meets Carter, the owner of the company, he asks her out, she accepts and immediately begins to feel things for him. Until Carter offers her a deal:

“Will you be my number seven?” I looked at him confused. “Your number what?” I shook my head, what was he going on about? He sat up in his seat and rested his elbows on his knees with his hands together, fingers pointing up to his chin. “Look, let me explain…” he took a deep breath. I was now intrigued, “I have flavours of the month shall we say, seven girls who I alternate between, the next two months will be you. I don’t see any of the other girls, you don’t see anyone else. Once our two months are up, you go back to your day to day life and once your cycle comes around again, I will call you. You will be paid generously in a wage and gifts.” I actually couldn’t believe what was coming out of his mouth. I ran my hand through my hair, “Let me see if I understand you properly,” I said abruptly. My voice was raised, “You want me, to be a booty call, for a couple of months, until you are bored of me? I’m not some fucking whore Carter, you can’t just call me up when you want me and pay me in expensive gifts and cash. “I pulled away from him, “I’m not a booty call Carter, I actually thought you liked me, but you don’t, I’m just a fuck to you.” He grabbed my arm and pulled me into him, “I do like you.” He moved my hand down to his groin area, “See.” he smirked down at me. “Don’t – I’m not interested Carter. Let’s just keep our relationship professional, it’s for the best.” He looked away from me and ran his hand through his messy hair, “I don’t want to keep our relationship professional. I want our relationship the way it is. Fun.” I tilted my head, “Fun? This isn’t fun, this is a booty call, I would be your fuck buddy, friends with benefits – I’m not into that, sorry.”

Carter can’t stop thinking about her so he convinces her to give him another chance.

“I brought you here to talk Freya.” I turned to face him, “About what?” I asked inquisitively. “I want to try, I want to try and just be with you,” he said quietly. I shook my head. “Freya, please. After I left your apartment yesterday I couldn’t stop thinking about you, I don’t want to lose you, I had a taste of that yesterday when my actions pushed you towards Ethan. I can’t get you out of my head, I haven’t slept, I’ve hardly eaten. So, when I left I called my girls over, I sat down and told them that I needed a break, I needed to work through some things, something I feel very strongly about…” I didn’t say anything, just listened to him as he spoke, he cleared his throat, “So, I said I would put them on six months full pay until I know how this is going, this being me and you.” He looked at me, waiting for me to say something. I took a deep breath and put my hands on his knee, “Carter, I can’t let you do that. You have needs, you like to switch it up and not be stuck with the same girl. I get that -” He moved closer to me, interrupting me “Freya, I just want you,” he whispered.

For weeks things are going great for them, the wedding arrives and everything is perfect, they make plans to go to NY together, but her ex Jake appears at her house and confesses something to her about Carter that rocks her world and breaks her heart into a thousand pieces.

It is a quite good read although I would like more angst. Now I’m going for the second book to see what happens between them after the 💣.

Something New is Ashlee's debut novel and first in the Entwined In You Series. We meet Freya following a break up which led her to move to London and start a new job. She's dedicated, hard working, funny and just has a great down to earth personality.

Carter is the rich, hot, CEO who likes to be in control and has his pick of women. But despite what you might think based on that description, we are quick to see that he is also charming, generous and kind - if not a little possessive 😉

This was a really easy read for me, it flows well and held my interest throughout. I loved the dynamic between Carter and Freya and it felt different to the usual CEO work place trope romance. I'm not sure if I can put my finger on why, maybe because the characters are very relatable and I could imagine this actually happening! There's plenty of steam to keep the romance lovers happy, but it isn't excessive 😊

Of course there is a cliffhanger because there are more books in the series, so towards the end I was expecting something to go wrong........BUT I did not see what happened coming 😳 I didn't have too many suspicions though I had one about Ethan which I was wrong about haha. It was a great little unexpected twist, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all unravels in the next book when I get to it.

There are two more books in the series from Freya's POV, but Ashlee has also released the first two from Carter's POV, so I need to decide the order I want to read them in 🤔

I'd recommend this book to any workplace romance trope lover looking for a easy, heart warming read....as long as you want a series to binge 😉

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

This story follows the life of Freya, who fled from a small village near Cambridge to London after finding her boyfriend of 5 years Jake, in a compromising position with another girl. She then meets Ethan and what seems like Mr perfect, Carter, and Jake pops up again! Ooooh who to choose!?

While the book focuses very much on Freya’s life and work in London I felt like I’d missed a big chunk of back story here. I’d like to have known more about Freya’s life pre-London and her and Jakes back story. Also, her village and parents were ace & had a great depth of character. I wanted to learn more.
When Freya is stuck between Carter & Jake at the end of the book you don’t want her anywhere near Jake because he’s such and arsehole & you don’t really know enough about him to want her to give him a second chance. Although I was shocked at what Carter first proposed-I didn’t see that coming! It was bizarre and I thought there would be more drama around that, but I think that is yet to come!

The story does finish on a cliff hanger, you just have to feel for the poor girl. In The end I am rooting for Ethan I just hope she hasn’t missed the boat.

While I really enjoyed this book I did think some parts went on a little and found myself skim reading over a few paragraphs. But it has left me hungry for more & I really want to see what happens next!

First I would like to thank Ashlee for contacting me and introducing her lovely books to me!

Freya is young, beautiful and has ambition. She has gone through a traumatic break-up. When she decides to pickup and start a new life in London with a new dream job that should kick start her career. She finds herself struggling at times personally and kinda doesn't have the best of luck in finding that special someone.

Luck on her side she meets 2 gentleman at the same time. Freya is cautious and must choose between the 2 relationships.. Friendship or Lovers...

Everything seems to be going well and perfect..

When things are too perfect there's always a catch and indeed there is!

Ashlee Rose was a 'New to me author' and i was pleasantly surprised with how much i liked this book, for a while I've been seeing little snippets on Instagram for these books and had it on my list to read and the more i read of little teasers the more i wanted to read so while i had a little bit of time i jumped in feet first and I'm so glad i did!
I liked Freya, i loved how she wasn't a doormat when it come to her a'hole ex (douchebag) she was down to earth and hard working and when she meets Carter she knew there was something about him that drew her in.
Carter i really liked him, admittedly I'm a little wary of him but I'm still so intrigued by him that had me keep flicking through the pages eager for find out more about him and what makes him tick.
I'm glad i decided to read these when more of them was out so i can get my binge on because that ending!

Very down to earth and relatable story about the girl who after a breakup starts her life in a new city from scratch while pursuing her dream of becoming a writer.

Freya is so funny and adorable and you can’t help but fell in love with her personality and all her sarcastic view about the opposite sex and her luck in finding the right ONE.

From having no man in her life she ends up with two young men fighting for her attention at the same time - lovable neighbour Ethan and a lot demanding boss Carter. Who is she going to choose? Or yet, despite her determination to find love and feel wanted, she’ll end up alone again?

This is a very fast paced story with the cliffhanger at the end that will make you reach out to the author’s second book in this trilogy.

Loved it

I loved Carter and Freya, I really connected with the characters and the story is so catching...and that chemistry, hot!
I had to take a star off just because the end was a bit, meh... I get it's leading into book 2 but all that build up and then??... Felt a little lacking and rushed. Also, I'm not a usually a fan of the writing style used in this book, I'm more of a first person present tense lover, the way it is written was slightly off putting, some parts read like a script, or a list, more than a book, and I often got confused on who was speaking since there isn't any clear breaks or indications. I found myself rereading a lot of parts to work them out.... So a star was taken off for the writing, but not the story itself. I enjoyed that. Great story.

This story follows Freya as she's starting a new life in London after her boyfriend cheats on her. She gets a new job and meets two new guys. I actually liked Ethan more, I thought he cared about her a lot and matched her better since he was a regular guy. Carter owns the company Freya works for and is used to being a wealthy playboy who gets what he wants.
Freya had some funny and relatable moments, but sometimes she was immature or made poor decisions. The plot was a little slow for me and had too many unimportant details.
I liked this okay, I think it needed more actual plot to it. Maybe the sequel will be better.

What an ending!

I'm not going to lie, it took me a while to get into Freya' s story. Oh, but when I did... I was all in. Ashlee dragged me into Freya' s journey and now, the only way I'm getting out is to binge read this entire series.

Carter, Carter, Carter... Boy do I have mixed feelings for you. On one hand, I'm routing for you but I have a gut feeling you're going to do something insane that will make me want to strangle you. LOL! But I think I'll love you enough to get past it 😂

I'm excited to see where Ashlee Rose takes me with book two.

Oh and Jake... screw you!

I personally didn’t enjoy the writing style. I felt that it wasn’t descriptive enough. It was very one dimensional. I thought the plot was lacking in depth which made it hard for me to get into the book. I usually can pick up a book and read it within a day or two. This one took me a whole week. I didn’t find the characters that interesting and her interactions with the guys were predictable. This book just really wasn’t for me. It might be because this author was new, but for some reason this one didn’t vibe with me.
