My sister gave herself to the raider warlord to save me. Now I’m hunting him down - and getting her back.

I’ve never forgiven myself for letting that brute drag her off my ship, and I’ve done nothing but search for his horde of warships since he let my ship go free.

Everyone knows the Vandar raiders are cruel and merciless, so when my ship is attacked by another of the alien race’s warlords, I expect to be blown out of the sky. Instead, he takes me as his captive.

I may be the warlord’s property, but no way will I submit to his demands. Even if his hard body and fiery eyes ignite a desire in me like nothing have before.

Despite my captivity, I’m still determined to find my sister. This Vandar warrior might not have her, but he knows who does. If I can give him what he wants, maybe he’ll help me find her. But can I risk letting him control more than my body? Can I risk him plundering my heart?

"Plundered" is a full-length sci fi romance novel with an HEA and no cheating. It features steamy scenes on a raider warship, heart-pounding space battles, and some serious enemies-to-lovers heat.

If you like dominant and dangerous alien warriors, alien abduction to seduction romance, and hot scenes with a happily ever after, you’ll love "Plundered", the second book in Tana Stone’s sci-fi romance series,
Raider Warlords of the Vandar. Each book can be read as a standalone.

I love sexy aliens and independent heroines. I grew up on Star Trek: Next Generation and Star Wars (and I adore them equally). My favorite superhero is Thor (with Aquaman a close second because, well, Jason Momoa), my favorite dessert is key lime pie (okay, fine, all pie), and I still lament the loss of Firefly.

I live in North Carolina in the US and have one husband, two teenagers, and two neurotic cats. I sometimes wish I could teleport to a holographic space station like the one in my tribute brides series (or maybe vacation at the oasis with the sand planet barbarians). :-) When I'm not writing, I love to paddleboard, dive, travel, and read obsessively!

“You seem to have forgotten that you are my captive!”

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💙💚💜🤎❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🫢😤😡😊

The heroine: Tara - after losing their parents when they were in their teens, Tara took it upon herself to take care of her younger sister Astrid. She often had to do things in order to survive, but after winning a cargo ship in a high stakes card game, they had a place of their own and a way to make money. Since Astrid got taken captive by a Vandar warlord, Tara has been searching for her.

The Hero: Raas Kaalek - He is the commander of a Vandar Horde and brother to Raas Kratos from Possessed. He is a dominant alpha male with a hard body and a tail. He spends his time fighting against the Zagrath who are determined to take over every planet in the galaxy.

The Story: Raas Kaalek doesn’t like that his brother Raas Kratos took a human captive and let the rest of the crew on the cargo ship go. So he is determined to find the ship and make them pay for sending the Zagrath after Kratos. However, when he finds and boards the ship, he finds Tara alone and takes her captive.

Like Possessed, this book is told in dual points of view using duet narration which is the best way to go and my personal favorite. In duet narration, both narrators always read the same characters, similar to how it is done in full-cast or radio play productions. This was narrated by Marcio Catalano and Addison Barnes and both did a great job and have terrific voices which matched the characters well.

The story was very interesting, Tara and Kaalek end up crash landing on a planet that is being taken over by the Zagrath, so they have to hide among the people until Kaalek’s horde figures out where they are. They find that the people of the planet have a resistance, they can’t directly fight the Zagrath like the Vandar warlords, but they are doing what they can to undermine the Zagrath.

First things first -
2 Stars for the dialogues, the personalities, world building and the lack of depth overall.
3 Stars for getting me hooked enough to read the whole thing.
Overall I give this book a 2.5

The writing is bad on account of the characters being too simplistic and the dialogues - especially the MMC's - God have mercy. The sentence structures are alright on their own. The plot is minimally interesting - the MCs did spend a chunk of time off the raiders' warbird which provided some sense of dynamism. As in the first book I found the FMCs to be marginally better fleshed out, admirable even, than the so called warlord MMCs. 'Warlord' *scoffs*. You should read their thought processes if it could even be called that 🥴 "processes".. sigh. There's barely any processing going on inside those empty skulls. Here's a coconut 🥥

Plundered and it's predecessor are like badly written Clecanian novels (the Clecanian series by Victoria Aveline) - and in Victoria's case her sentence structures were inherently flawed - nothing like badly written sentences that lock me out of a book real fast on account of my mounting disbelief and inability to sink into the book BUT she did put a ton of effort into providing a unique setting, world building, trials, politics etc that got me invested after the initial hangup. I also think she got better at writing with every book she wrote.
Tana's characters lack dimension, the world building is lazy, the dialogues are unbelievable. The only thing that kept me going is that I could feel the chemistry between the MCs.. to a degree. There were 2 sex scenes, one better than the other. No cheating. Also I gotta say, I'm a massive sucker for anything involving 'mates' who are fated to be together. Yisss. Blame Sarah J Mass, I'm forever changed.

I usually don't bother writing reviews if there is more to criticize than praise, but I want to say that despite all of its glaring flaws, I was able to enjoy reading it. I can turn my brain off from time to time and there are some sub genres I go into expecting a bad book. When I find one that's good the euphoria I feel is ridiculous ✨🤩✨
But that's me. You have been warned 🧿👄🧿

I will be reading the next book 🍆

STORY:

I was excited for book 2, but found it to be ok and likable. To dissect it a little better, the storyline was good, however, for me, the build up between Tara and Kaalek was ok.

Although Tara’s mission was to look for her sister, Astrid, she didn’t show much concern even when Kaalek told her that his brother still had her sister. I thought she would demand to talk to her. It’s only towards the end it was push to the forefront. I also wanted to know what happen to Tara’s crew and ship.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sex scenes were good but wanted more. Most of their time was spent bickering. It was cute and funny but too much of it.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I really love the planet Kaalek and Tara crashed on. Those secondary characters really made you smile and I love their team work.

OVERALL:
Love the storyline, but wanted more from Kaalek and Tara. Too much time was spend arguing and bickering.

✰✰TRIGGERS:

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

"Then show me how a big, tough raider claims a female. Or I'll have to find a Vandar who will."
"No one else can have you."
"Then you'd better fuck me so hard I won't ever want any other Vandar again."

A reluctant Raas finds his mate in a human captain.. 5 stars!

This was my first read of 2021, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love Tana Stone's writing style as it's so easy to get lost in the world she has created and care for the characters she creates. Kaalek and Tara's story was just as steamy as book one with an added sense of adventure and danger that is my kryptonite. I loved how Tara didn't just sit down and accept Kaalek's highhanded and domineering ways, and I swooned every time Kaalek showcased his possessive and protective nature towards Tara. The side characters were just as captivating as Kaalek and Tara, and I truly enjoyed this story from start to finish. I'm excited to read PILLAGED next, which is the youngest Vandar brother's story! ♡

I loved Plundered! These two, Kaalek and Tara were amazing characters and they were even better together.
Plundered starts right after Possessed, Tara was trying to rescue her sister, because she thought Astrid was Kratos' captive. The last time she had seen her sister was when Astrid volunteered herself to go with the Vandars to save everyone on Tara's ship. Tara was trying desperately  to track Kratos' ship which puts her on Kaalek's radar. Krato's brother, Kaalek, wasn't interested in a human female but he also didn't want anyone tracking a Vandar's ship so he boarded her ship and ended up taking Astrid as his captive. Astrid was so feisty, she fought Kaalek every chance she got, their banter was incredible and their chemistry... off the charts!
Plundered was a well-written, fun, fast paced, steamy story with great characters navigating an intriguing world. Definitely my favorite book in this series so far.

I loved this book so much. It was so damn good, couldn’t put it down. This is Astrid’s sister from book 1, Tara, and Kratos brother from book 1, Kaalek. These two were a handful together, ok, ok...she was the handful, but I loved it, and so did he. Challenge accepted.

He goes back for her, and then keeps her for himself. The Zagrath Empire tracks them down. He and her are away from his main warbird when they crash on the closest planet. This just so happens to be a planet that Zagrath has taken over...and that’s where the fun really begins.

Fantastic and fast paced storyline. Safe read, with a sexy warlord of the Vandar raiders, and his fiery handful. So. Much. Chemistry. These two were just smoking hot. I loved the village people, we got to see his brother and her sister, and a group of bounty hunters that are from another of her series, Barbarians of the Sand Planet...which I will be starting next. An epilogue, which sets you up for the next book, which I need now-ish, and a hfn.

Oh My God!!! WOW and WOW. I loved this one - as I believe I have most of this authors stories. The imagination, the excitement, the - just everything... I am almost at a loss for words! What I found fantastic in this one was to bring Danica and her bounty hunters into this story as well. To get all these "aliens" to get to know each other a bit was a great idea. Other than that the storyline was just smashing, the characters equally smashing, and the overall story simply said was great. If you like SciFi at all and romances, this story is very likely going to tick your boxes. I honestly believe it ticket all of mine... So five fantastic stars out of five is just a given.

Raas Kaalek is the younger brother of Raas Kratos who captured the earth woman Astrid from Tara’s ship. Now Raas Kaalek has taken Tara captive onto his ship along with all her cargo and her ships supplies. But he never knew that taking this human woman would cause him so much trouble and conflict. They are discovered by the Zagrath even though they have their cloaking devices activated, Kaalek ejects the cargo and takes Tara off the ship in case she has a device drawing the enemy towards them.

Their ship is hit and sent towards Carlogia Prime where the empire have taken the citizens captive and using them to mine the rich minerals for their own use. What happens will have you grasping onto your chair while they fight for their lives and their love. Tana Stone brings some much loved Dothvek characters to help them in their cause. You will not be able to put the book down till the very last page. But even then you want to keep reading about their younger brother and the adventures he is about to embark on. I can’t wait to read the next story Pillaged.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.

Plundered is the 2nd book in the Raider Warlords of the Vandar. If you read book 1, this is Astrid's sister Tara and Kratos brother Kaalek's story. After taking Tara prisoner, these two must join forces to survive after they crash on the planet Carlogia Prime. However they were constantly arguing and I loved that Tara did just accept Kaalek 's domineering ways. They had intense chemistry and their steamy scenes were scorching hott.
Tana Stone made it easy to get lost in this world. The story was well written, imaginative and descriptive and we are taken on adventure filled with action, alien inhabitants and two characters fighting their growing attraction to each other. I enjoyed this novel and I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would highly recommend it to all lovers of Sci-Fi romance.

DNF; and this is why:

Thankfully didn’t get too deep into this book, waste a whole lotta time only to discover this putrid mess oozing from the heroines POV:

“I had a drawer filled with lacy panties and bras. It was my one indulgence and nod to femininity. I tried not to think of the fact that many of the sets had been gifted to me by males who were grateful for my attentions. I told myself that I was using them more than they were using me, and why shouldn’t I get something nice in return?”

Annnnddddddddd I’m OUT!!!

**3.7/5 stars**

Tara regrets not saving her sister from a Vandar raider and has been searching for the raiders since. After her ship is attacked, she’s taken captive by a powerful warlord, Raas Kaalek instead of being killed. Though she feels a strong attraction to him, Tara refuses to submit. Determined to find her sister, she sees a chance to bargain with the warlord for information.

I didn’t expect to like Tara, but I actually really liked her. As the older sister who had to look after Astrid, she made so many sacrifices to protect her from the harsh realities of the world, and it became her whole identity; to be a protector. Tara was strong and stubborn, always ready to clash with Kaalek whenever she could. I loved that she didn’t let him push her around. With her iron will and strong convictions, she always did what she set her mind to do. At the same time, she was a sensible heroine who knew how to show softness and care when needed.

“I hope you don’t think that just because my sister bonded with your brother that anything is going to happen between us.”
He scooped me up off the ground, ignoring my swats to his chest.
“At this point, I am just trying to survive you.”

Kaalek was a jerk, but I couldn’t help but love him. He was commanding and arrogant, struggling with unresolved feelings toward his father and older brother, whom he always felt inferior to. This led him to build high walls to keep people out and guard his emotions. Accustomed to having everyone obey his commands, he found Tara’s feisty and fiery spirit a real challenge to his defenses. She forced him to let go of his need for control. Despite his tough exterior, he genuinely cared for Tara and couldn’t resist wanting to protect her.

What I wanted was what I’d seen when I’d taken her on her ship. I wanted her fire and her fear. I wanted her so desperate and terrified that she lashed out at me. It was the only way I’d be able to conquer her and make it worth my time.-Kaalek

The banter between them was definitely the highlight for me. Some might not appreciate it, but I felt it added a wonderful dynamism to their relationship, forcing them to learn to appreciate one another in an organic way. Their chemistry was strong overall. While there weren't many intimate moments, I found the ones that were there satisfying enough.

The plot itself was engaging, and I enjoyed the addition of characters from the book Bounty from the Barbarians of the Sand Planet series. I wasn't familiar with Danica and K'alvek, but when they were introduced, it was clear they had past adventures. So I did a little research and found where they were from. If you’ve read that series, you might enjoy seeing those familiar faces, but if you haven’t read it, it won’t affect your understanding of the plot in this book at all. It was just a nice little cameo.

"Raider Warlords of the Vandar" is a steamy sci-fi romance series, much like Tana's other series. The series follows the Vandar, a group of hot and sexy alpha aliens who travel across galaxies as raiders. However, they are not what everyone in the empire believes them to be. They actually fight for freedom against the empire, which takes what it wants. Along their journey, they encounter more than they could have hoped for. The series is full of action, war, and sexy themes as they traverse the skies. Tana's worlds and characters are well-written and believable. If you love sci-fi with sexy aliens and hot romance, you will enjoy Tana's work.

Her sister Astra gave herself to a cruel and heartless Vandar warlord but older sister Tara is hunting her down to get her back. So when her warship is attacked by another warlord she expects to be blown out of the sky. Instead, she finds herself taken as a captive in return for leaving her spaceship alone. She may be his property but she will not submit to his demands even if his hard body and fiery eyes ignite an intense desire in him. The goal of finding her sister still remains and although Astra is not there he does know who has her - maybe if she gives him what he wants he will help her to find her? Her dilemma is whether giving her body to him will be all that he gets or will he plunder her heart too?

I enjoyed this story which had some great twists and turns as well as moments when they really had to rely on each other. I did find the constant arguments between them quite tiring and so I did drop my review by a star because it almost made me give in reading it. I did enjoy the fighting and the other folks that they met on the planet when they were there which was really interesting. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Kaalek and Tara

Tara’s sister gave herself to a Vandar warlord to save Tara and her ship, but there was no way that Tara was going to let her sister sacrifice herself.
Kaalek’s brother found himself bonded to a human, while her sister caused all kinds of trouble for him, so Kaalek is determined to make her pay.
When the two of them crash on a planet controlled by the Zagrath, they will have to work together to overcome the empire.

This is the second book in the series, and it continues on from the story begun in the first book. It can be read as a standalone though I think it probably works best when read in order.
We also see a cameo appearance from the author’s Barbarians of the Sand Planet series!

It’s an enjoyable sci-fi romance, futuristic in nature, aliens included. The hero is alpha, and just a little barbaric in nature, the heroine a spunky human who will do whatever she has to to get ahead.

Recommended for those who enjoy sci-fi romance!

Admiral Kurmog had set a trap for the Vandar raiders but they had not taken the bait yet. This time, he would destroy the Vandar without mercy!

Getting dressed from her brief shower, Tara was upset as she thought that after all she did to keep her sister safe, Astrid was gone, taken captive by the Vandar raiders. Astrid had given herself freely as a prisoner to the Vandar warlord to spare her sister. That was not how it was supposed to be! So Tara’s new mission was to find her sister and get her back safely. But as her crew member frantically contacted her while she was dressing, she felt the ship shudder and knew the Vandar just locked on and were boarding! The Raas of the ship, Kaalek, was leading the boarding himself, much to the dismay of Jorl, who advised him against it. As the second son, Kaalek had a need to be first into battle and constantly proving himself. His older brother Kratos should never have let this worthless human freighter go free the first time when he took the human woman as a war prize. Kaalek had ended up defeating the Zagrath battleship to save his brother’s horde when they were later attacked.

The hangar was empty when the Vandar boarded, so he ordered his men to take anything of value and kill whoever they ran into. Was this ship abandoned? Then they found a room with a female wearing only two scraps of material to cover herself. Despite her fear, she stood up to him, so instead of killing her, he had her tied up and brought along with them. She was relieved her crew had gotten her last command and hid themselves in the compartments built into this former smuggler’s ship. When Kaalek said he would be blowing up her ship, she had to agree to go with him willingly so that he would leave her ship intact. She was a challenge to him, and he intended to conquer her.

Before he could seduce her in his quarters, his ship was attacked by the Zagrath who should not have been able to see them. Despite their invisibility, three of the horde ships were targeted. Kaalek’s officers and he realized that the cargo must have been tampered with and a homing device added so the Zagrath could track them. Had she been a spy, dressed as she was to distract him while the Zagrath followed them? Was she an active participant or an unwitting accomplice? And how would he punish her for this? Death is what she deserved!

This was an exciting, well-written story that raced at an unrelenting pace as the reader was securely pulled into the story. Kaalek felt betrayed and may not even give Tara an opportunity to explain. Would he kill her outright when the fighting ended? Or would that option be wrested away from him as the unexpected occurs?

Raiders Warlords of the Vandar is an alien romance series written by Tana Stone. The premises is around a galactic war with two sides: the Zagrath Imperial Empire and those who oppose it. The Empire is made mostly of humans. The Vandar Raiders are warriors that fight the Empire and all who associate, while aiding those who rebel against them. These aren’t noble warriors. The Vandars are ruthless raiders, taking and destroying. The Vandar species are muscular humanoids, with tannish-bronze skin, magical mating tattoos tails and huge cocks (of course).

Written in first person, Plundered is book 2 in this series, and follows Vandar raider Kaalek and the human Tara. Kaalek is the Raas of his crew, which is basically the leader (aka Warlord), and also Kratos’s brother (from book 1). He follows in his father’s footsteps as well, who was also a Raas. Tara is a human who was a captain of her ship. Her sister Astrid was taken by Kratos in book 1, and Tara continues her mission to find and rescue her. Kaalek tracks down Tara’s ship when he thinks it was his brother’s mistake not to destroy it. He blames Tara for the ambush of the Empire. When he finds her, he confiscated her supplies (which happened to have trackers planted by the empire) and offers to not blow up her ship (where her crew were hiding) in exchange for her willingly captivity. The empire catches them and is ambushed, which results in Tara and Kaalek being stranded on a planet whose citizens were being mined by the empire. With the help of a few residents, the two free a village from the unwanted mining by the empire.

The two fell in love along the journey. Even though Kaalek could have taken Tara’s desired body without permission, he waited until she consented. And she did consent eventually, falling in love the more she got to know him. After he was heartbroken after Tara’s near death, and after the mating marks appeared on both their bodies, the two lived happily ever after.

What initially made me love this particular series was that this wasn’t some alien species that protected all women and honorably waited for consent. No. They took what they wanted. Which made for some very spicy sex scenes in the first book. I wouldn’t exactly call them “romantic,” more like brutish and carnal, which is right up my alley. I liked the idea of less nobility and morals, and more savage dominance. Unfortunately, there was less of that in this book, even though Kaalek was supposed to be more ruthless than his brother Kratos. I was left extremely disappointed with this read. Even though Tara was feisty and put up a hell of a fight, the book fell flat. There was so much potential. I leave this one in the “meh” category. Hopefully the next book will redeem the series.

Alien captive romance

MY RATING
5 stars--WOW
4 stars--would read again
3 stars--was good
2 stars--didn't enjoy
1 star--didn't finish

Should I read books before this one: yes
Cliffhanger: no

SUMMARY
A Zagrath admiral put trackers on the cargo before it's loaded on Tara's ship. "Their desire to punish those who collude with us will be their downfall. As will their taking of the human female." His goal is to take out the Vandar.

Tara is hurt that Astrid volunteered and walked away. I was the captain of the ship. I was the older sister. I was supposed to make the sacrifices and take care of her. She's been doing so since she was 15 and Astrid was 12. She's now 23. She won the ship in a card game. She'd learned sitting on an old man's lap. The tricks he taught me were the reason Astrid and I hadn’t starved, and the reason my sister had never been forced to do any of the things I’d done. Tara's one nod to femininity is lacy lingerie. She's mortified they're being boarded by Vandar.

Kaalek has found the freighter. He wants to see their faces when they know they've been caught by Vandar. He hates being the second son. His second in command, Jorl, is loyal and wise, but too logical for Kaalek's vengeance. They board the ship, no fighters. He finds a woman in black wisps of fabric, asks if she's a pleasurer. She says she's the captain, Tara. She slaps him when he's crude, then asks if he's the one who took her sister. "I'm not Kratos, I'm Kaalek. I am not like my brother. I have no intention of taking a human female as a mate. Would you prefer death, or would you prefer to be my whore?” “Death,” she spat out. “Good. That’s what I hoped you’d say.” He takes her captive, and orders all her cargo be taken, too.

EVALUATION
The plot starts the same as book 1, but then takes an unexpected turn. They have a unique story with the same HEA.

Character development is better in this book, though it's still not great. Why does Kaalek have nightmares? How will they mesh on one ship?

RECOMMENDATION
Adults who like enemies to lovers

FAVORITE QUOTES
“I hope you don’t think that just because my sister bonded with your brother that anything is going to happen between us.” He scooped me up off the ground, ignoring my swats to his chest. “At this point, I am just trying to survive you.”

Best series ever💖💖💖💖💖💖😍

I've read just about every book Tabs Stone has written and I've lived them all for various reasons some more than other, but I have got to say there is something seriously fabulous about this series. I mean I love it. It's like Vikings meets space pirates meets not gorgeous aliens with tails. What is seriously not to love!☺ The story is about Tara and Kaalek. The book before was about their siblings finding danger, passion and love. Tara watched as her sister Astrid was taken by a Vandar warrior and she wasn't going to stop looking for her Until she could rescued her or at least know she was happy and cared for. Kaalek, is Kratos' younger brother. He went to destroy the ship that his brother left when he took Astrid, what he found was a woman to drive him crazy at every turn, challenged him every second, made him think differently and stirred his passions higher than any female before. I really don't want to give a way the details suffice to say their is a few misunderstandings, series sexual tension, danger and true connection between characters. As they learn more about each other, passion and attraction is only one thing that they discover in each other. A true friend, partner, confidant and yes a mate. The characters are so well done and they have incredible chemistry! I have to say this is my favorite series this far. And if you've read Tane's other books your in for a treat surprise when you encounter old friends that you have truly missed. Fantastic read and I highly recommend not only this book but the first in the series as well 💖💖💖 I literally can't wait to read the third!!!💖😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖

Looking for dominant, tall, ripped and hot aliens? If so, highly recommend this story and series!

Written for mature readers (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence such as kidnapping, invasion, fighting to the death, forced enslavement, death, etc.

This is the second story in the series and while it could probably be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc (Vandars vs Zagrath).

There are a couple of grammatical errors that I will send to the author, otherwise this is a well written alien PNR with defined characters and storyline. This story features the siblings of the first story, Tara and Kaalek.

Tara is the captain of her own freighter that she won gambling. Her sister Astrid gave herself over to a Raas to save Tara and now she can’t stop looking for her. Then she is boarded by Vandars (again) and has her crew hide. She is taken captive by the Raas leading the Vandar horde and only agrees to come with him willingly so he won’t blow up her ship, plus maybe she can find out more about who has her sister.

Kaalek is the second son and has the chip on his shoulder to match. When he finds the lovely captain on the old freighter, he can’t resist taking her with him, but will he soon find her too much trouble? Or will he discover that sometimes bad trouble can be just what you need ...

Tana Stone’s Plundered: A Sci-Fi Alien Warrior Romance is book two in her Raider Warlords of the Vandar Series. Once readers get invested in book one of a series, they are almost driven to read them all, and Stone’s warrior romances will hook them from the onset. These novels are about estranged brothers who meet their fated mates as they fight their family ties as well as the enslavement of the Zagrath Empire. Plundered tells the story of Kaalek, the second oldest brother and Tara, a sister who is looking throughout the galaxies for her captured sister. Kaalek captures Tara’s ship, her cargo is seized, and since it has homing devices planted by the Zagrath, they begin the fight of their lives against the enemy. The two must join forces to survive once they crash on the planet Carlogia Prime. This world has been overtaken by the Zagrath as well. They are systematically stripping the planet of the valuable minerals needed for their technology through the enslavement of its denizens. Tara and Kaalek join the resistance and free the citizens. Needless to say, through much personal resistance between these two main characters, there is an HEA filled with interesting details. Readers will enjoy this series as well as all of the other series by Tana Stone. She is a must-read author of alien romance. Good job, Tana!

Steamy and captivating alien romance

I really enjoyed Kaalek and Tara’s alien-human, enemies to lovers, with a side of warlord abduction and crash landing. I love a book with a sexy alpha hero and a sexy, smart heroine. Tara is a human woman who is the captain of a transport. Her sister was taken prisoner by a Vandar Raas and she has been looking for her ever since. Kaalek came to destroy Tara’s ship for encouraging the Empire to attack the Vandar. In exchange for not destroying her ship, Tara agrees to go willingly with Kaalek back to his Vandar ship. Thus begins Kaalek and Tara’s exciting, intense, and surprising journey to their HEA. Despite Tara being taken as the property of Kaalek, this is not a dubcon or noncon situation. They are well matched in their intensity and stubbornness. Their relationship develops organically without forced intimacy. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline with all the good elements that you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, evil overlords, loyal friends, painful pasts, drama, snark, mystery, plot twists, and laughs. I will definitely be reading more of this series. Vandar warriors are clearly no match for human females.

I did not finish the previous book because the hero was a cheating, disrespectful, douchebag. The heroine had no backbone and I could not relate to her at all. I have liked other books from this author in the past so decided to go ahead and give this book a try. I almost quit this book too.

Spoilers ahead

I don't like a hero who threatens a woman with rape, ties her up, threatens her crew, and forces himself on her. He admittedly wanted her afraid and to fight him. He didn't rape her but he touched her without consent. He also planned on screwing her and then also buying whores at the same time. F HIM.. JERK. I also didn't like that the crew stood by and was okay with him forcibly taking her and tying her to his bed because she is "his war prize". This leads me to believe that the crew is a bunch of rapists. Not cool!

They sure are okay with pleasure planets. Are the pleasure planets full of women that are also forced into sexual slavery? They seem to not care AT ALL! Page 47 and I wanted to quit this book too. PISSED me off soo much I had to take another break.

The book and hero did get better. Will give next book a try and if not better, will quit series

Tana Stone delivers another wildly addictive sci-fi romance in the Vandor universe!

Tara, the FMC, is fierce, determined, and willing to risk everything to find her missing sister Astrid but her mission takes a dangerous turn when The Zagarth secretly use her shipment as bait to track the feared Vandor. Our MMC, Raas Kaalek, a ruthless warlord, seeks out the freighter that his brother encountered, wanting to see for himself why his eldest sibling, Raas Kratos has fallen so hard for a human, not just any human but Tara’s meek and mild sister. He soon comes to the realisation, that humans are not the weak beings he first thought and this human, Tara is completely irresistible.

When betrayal and battle lead to a crash-landing on a planet in the clutches of the enemy, Tara and Kaalek are thrown into forced proximity and necessary cooperation. Stranded together, they join forces with the native Carlogians to fight back against the invading Zagarth, forging trust, partnership, and undeniable heat along the way.

My view: This is packed with action, plenty of fun banter, as well as sizzling chemistry, along with the great pacing we are accustomed to with Tana Stones books. Tara pushes back at Kaalek like nobody ever has before, he’s drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Plundered is fast, fiery, and impossible to put down. Delicious alien romance, perfection.
