If anyone asks me what made me read a novella called "When the Demon came", I will just point to the first sentence of the book which made me explode with laughter.

"The demon, when it came, seduced Emily with its most powerful and ancient proposition: to help with the washing up and the laundry."
In all honesty, starting a book like this is the best way to attract reader attention. Second reason I loved this book is that it was short - a quick-read that I could finish in one sitting.
Emily's character was just so relatable and would definitely remain so for a while. She was tired of all the zoom meetings and being unable to read a good book left her frustrated, as it often does.

“World’s been like that.”
With no stories so good.

I have gone through a long reading slump where no matter which author I picked up, I just couldn't finish reading the book. So Emily and I were kind of on the same page at that point. But from then onwards, with the window salesman, things get sensual. This was a fun sultry read which can surely make you relax and I mean that encompassing all sense of meaning.
