Think you know someone? Then think again. This book blows stereotypes out of the window and makes you stop and analyse what you think you know about the world we live in. Racism, raving and religion, it’s all in here. A book about self discovery, inner strength and never giving up. An inspirational journey through life which will make you laugh and cry. Sometimes shocking, but always honest, Friday Bridge is a book you will return to and recommend again and again.
Im not saying this because I kinda know you. But wow Dawn, that is a journey and a half you have shared in this book.
I love to read but would take ages to read.
But this book. I couldnt put it down. It is a very heart felt inspirational journey you have let me read all about you and the boys. Look forward to reading the 2nd book.
I think what I liked most about this autobiography is that it really is like settling into someone’s mind at certain times of their life. The reader gets to know everything, the nuances of every thought, much like how we all think as we live our lives. I especially enjoyed the knowledge this book gives on the Muslim culture from someone who wasn’t born into it. I felt like I learned a lot about it while also seeing a different side. The balance and logic was so refreshing, as well as getting to know a unique person through their eyes.
Dawn story let you see the perspective of a woman convert into Muslim. As a writer, Dawn style is amazing. I felt like I was walking through every step of her story with her. Dawn's work is fantastic. Looking forward to read more of her brilliant work.
