This book is a haunting yet powerful read that lingers in your mind long after you finish it. When Angels Cry: The Forgotten Children by Lee-ann Suddick doesn’t just tell a story—it makes you feel it deeply. The premise is dark: a brilliant neurosurgeon, Dr. Tanner, thinks he can play with lives through twisted mind-control experiments. But fate turns the tables when Isabella Kent, one of his victims, fights back, and the forgotten children he hurt rise as a voice of justice. The way the author captures this reckoning is both chilling and moving at the same time.

What makes this book stand out is how it balances raw emotion with suspense. On one side, you feel the heartbreak and innocence of the children whose lives were shattered; on the other, you feel the heavy weight of karma that is unavoidable even for someone as powerful as Dr. Tanner. It’s not written like a complex medical drama—you don’t need to understand science to follow along. Instead, the story hits straight at the heart, reminding us that no cruelty ever goes unseen and that justice has its own way of returning, sometimes in unexpected and spiritual ways.

Lee-ann Suddick’s writing is simple yet piercing, filled with a sense of truth that comes from lived pain and compassion. The book is dark, yes, but it also shines with hope, faith, and the belief that love and justice will always find a way. If you’re looking for a story that’s emotional, gripping, and meaningful all at once, this is one of those rare reads that makes you stop, think, and reflect on life, choices, and the invisible strength of the human spirit.

When Angels Cry by Lee-ann Suddick is a great, although disturbing, read. A story of tragedy and struggle shown through the eyes of a number of different, interwoven characters.
The themes are often disturbing. But hope always seems to be there, floating just out of reach, however.
This book is a very emotional and compelling journey into both light and dark. It touches on murder, child abuse and other of the worse types of human behaviour.
That is the dark side of the book. On the light side of the book there is love and sisterhood. Love is the light that shines through the layers of darkness.
The author has suffered throughout her own life and her struggle is what she draws on when writing this book.
I recommend this book to all readers. Expect to be touched and humbled by the reading of it.
