Rate this book
This book was created to show kids that by being themselves they will always belong!

An Inner Truth reflects the truth that lies deep within us. It’s the truth that rejects fear, insecurity and jealousy. It’s pure and stands alone, without carrying the weight and influence of other people.

In this book you will meet Rachel, a young girl whose feelings become influenced by a family member's personal fears. Rachel begins to feel insecure, thinking that nobody wants to be her friend. Her mother and her teacher work together to help Rachel see that her strength lies in the light that she carries within.

Find out what happens in this incredible story about how words can cause children to doubt and feel insecure, but they can also build, encourage and empower, giving them the necessary tools that will allow them to overcome and face challenges in life with bravery, optimism and confidence.

This is the first book of the new picture's book series, Inner Truth, created to help children and adults strengthen their emotional intelligence through stories that teach self empowerment, values, authenticity, empathy and more.

I received a free copy of this book from Goodread for an honest review and any opinions expressed are my own.

I really enjoyed this book, however the messages expressed in the book are more for the parent than the child. The premise of the book required additional explanation to the children for them to comprehend the moral of the story. Basically, parents make mistakes too. The rhyming is always a plus in a children’s book and the illustrations are great. My niece started school this year for the first time, so this was a situation she could relate with. Overall, this is not a book for a really young child; It is more relatable for a school aged child.

Lovely message

The story encourages readers to let go of fears and let their inner light shine. However it also discusses the impact parents can have on their children's feelings and emotions. Her mom's warning that she may not make any friends caused her to feel anxious and avoided interacting with her classmates. I think it's a good message for parents but kids may not relate to this or understand this. However I thought the message is important. Illustrations are also beautiful

This is a sweet and impacting story encouraging readers basically to be themselves, but there is more to it. It shows how important parents influence children. It is a story for children and parents too, while children might not see the parent element. Children will get a good story from it of a young girl looking to find her inner strength and make friends at a new school. The story's message is a new approach, which is nice. The illustrations are also well done

I won a Kindle copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway, and I'm happy that I had the chance to read it. This story has a great message for children - but also for parents and adults. I appreciate the look at how adults can pass down their own fears and insecurities to the children around them, even while having their best interests at heart and trying to help them through what they've learned in their own experiences.

I won this e-book in a Goodreads Giveaway. Overall it was a good book with a good message for kids and adults but I also felt the message was a little harder for little ones to understand and misleading for younger ones to understand how the message was mixed and needed to be worked out (the intent of the story). The rhyming was cute but at times it felt forced and a bit clunky. I read this with my 5 year old and 8 year old and they both were on the fence about it.

This is a great book about self-confidence. It would be beneficial for parents to read it with their children as it contains important life lessons each can learn from. I loved the illustrations however some of the words were difficult to read on kindle due to the colorful backgrounds. Other than that, a very charming and important story.

Only okay

The rhyming feels very forced, and way too wordy for a kids book. The illustrations are cute, and I like the message they’re trying to tell, but it gets bogged down in way too much telling and not near enough showing.

More of a parenting book.

This is more appropriate for parents than children. Mom gives advice based on her past which results in child becoming fearful rather than confident. Mom learns valuable lesson and helps child be confident.

2 For 1 Education. Be Yourself

A timely story of how adults can undermine a child's selfesteem through good inventions. Still, it shows the need to be who we are.

The illustrations are terrific. Great intro for teaching children that adults can be haunted by past.

Bad parenting

An odd story about a mother destroying her daughter’s self-confidence on her first day at a new school. The teacher must step in and point out to the mother that she was using her personal fears to hurt her daughter.

A parent’s past not their child’s future.

A sweet book to remind parents that though their childhood could have been rough or unkind, allow your child to choose their inner light to shine. By putting your faith in them, maybe it can help heal you as well.

Oh, I really enjoyed this! You don't see too many children's books that show a parent doing something wrong and growing after apologizing for it. I thought the illustrations weren't great but they served the story just fine.
