Live-in property & pet caretaker needed. Six-year minimum. Background check required. Generous compensation. Marriage of convenience required.
The moment that Wyett Villin read the ad on her local community’s page, she knew that it would be perfect. It didn’t matter how big the house was, what kinds of animals she had to take care of, or what the compensation was. She didn’t give a flip as long as it got her out of her childhood home and away from the person that she despised the most.
Only, she had no clue that by accepting the position, she would be agreeing to watch over the mini-mansion and two large dogs of Hunt McJimpsey, computer hacker extraordinaire, sexy nerd, and convicted felon of Souls Chapel, Texas.
She’d meant to make her life easier, not complicate it more.
***
Hunt McJimpsey was careful. He knew exactly what he was doing and practically planned every single step that he took to make sure that he always had his tracks covered.
But one single mistake costs him five years of his life, and if he’s going to go down for the crime, he might as well make it spectacular.
Three years into his prison sentence, he’s a changed man, and definitely not for the better.
He’s harder, angrier, and even more brilliant and conniving than before he went in.
He thinks that by keeping up with his dogs’ babysitter, his property caretaker, and reluctant wife, that he’s only doing his due diligence as a responsible person. Only, what starts out as curiosity for his property turns into genuine like for the woman that is caring for what means the most to him.
When an opportunity to get out of the hellhole known as prison arises and the only thing he has to do is join a motorcycle club and sign some of his free time away to help those less fortunate, he jumps at the chance.
Not only because he’s ready to get the hell out of prison, but because he’s ready to meet the woman that he’s been falling for, one visit a week, for the last three years.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
I can't pick just one thing that really worked for me when it came to Doin' a Dime, but I know that I ended up feeling that this story was utter perfection!
Hunt McJimpsey was the perfect combination of alpha, sexy, nerdy, compassionate man. Wyett Villin was his soulmate in every sense. She had a huge heart. She was a survivor. She was sweet and beautiful. And their chemistry was intense.
Hunt may have been a felon, but in my opinion, at least when it comes to fictional males (can't be saying this and be a representative of the criminal justice system), he went to prison for all of the right reasons. A hacker extraordinaire, he was one of the good guys. Now that he works for Lynn, he's even more so.
Again, I fell in love with LLV's words and without giving away the plot, I hope I've convinced you to fall in love with these characters too. If you love love, romance and all the feels, this story is definitely the one for you!
Book#4 in this series of ex cons given a chance to right wrongs by the mysterious bad ass Mayor who are now members of a pseudo MC club. I like the trope and the characters, but their was something missing for me in this latest LLV outing.
Hunt was an interesting and quirky character. I loved that he didn’t think or act in a predictable way. Plus, he was a nerd so 🔥. Wyett was such a sweet heroine. She had the biggest heart and I enjoyed reading as she and Hunt fell in love.
The plot was good, with most of the conflict supplementing the growth of the relationship. The secondary characters were featured but I wished they would’ve had more of a role in order to better connect the series. Also, other than the title, there is very minimal integration of the MC lifestyle.
All in all I enjoyed this addition to the Soul Chapel Revenants MC and look forward to more from LLV.
Complementary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.
Doin' a Dime is another LLV book I read in one sitting. Wyett and Hunt are great and have a strange twist on a marriage of convenience!
Wyett was raised by a horrid aunt after her family died. Now that she is 25, she has to fight her aunt tooth and nail for the money she is now set to inherit. Hunt just got sentenced to 10 years for a hacking crime and needs someone to take care of his dogs and house since his family is trash as well. Oh, and he knows he wants it to be Wyett and he adds a clause that they must marry-you know, so she can handle everything while he is in jail.
These two get to know each other via prison visits. It's so unconventional but it really works for them. By the time Hunt is released on parole, they have a super deep connection that just continues to grow. There is some tension from each of their families which adds to the story, but the focus is really on their relationship.
Doin' a Dime was a great read and I think it will appeal to fans of the marriage of convenience trope as well as fans of just plain cute romance stories!

I seriously need to pay better attention to the secondary characters when I'm reading. Because I had no clue that Six's bestie was the leading lady in this book until way too late. And being the fact that Hunt was the hero of our story just made that even better.
Everything about Hunt made him awesome. I really loved him so much. He was quirky, smart, caring, well-built and he loved his dogs, almost as much as he loved Wyett. Every time he explained why he did things; I think I loved him a little more. And with this told in dual point of view, witnessing his thoughts about Wyett, along with his actions was beautiful.
Wyett was just as sweet and smart and had more than her own share of quirky. Everything that had happened to her made her stronger and more determined. And I loved that she was so kick butt and take names. Not once did she feel sorry for herself or act like a victim and I loved that she was a little bit nuts.
As always with this series and the amazing Lani Lynn Vale this was well written. I couldn't get enough of the characters and the story had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. Now I can't wait for the next book after the baby bomb Hunt dropped.
I think Hunt and Wyett’s story is my favorite so far of this group. I loved the hot sexy dirty talking nerd vibe Hunt had going on 😊 ♥
After Hunt McJimpsey, a computer hacker get sentenced to prison after doing something he shouldn’t have been doing, he meets a Wyett Villin one day at a coffee shop and asked her if he could touch her eyelashes… lol From there he was instantly smitten and when he has to go to prison he decides to place a position available for someone (Wyett) to live in his house look after his two big dogs and also marry him…
Wyett really needed this position. Being in a battle with her aunt regarding her inheritance all her money and assets have been frozen, so this is exactly what she needed. Over the next few years she visits Hunt in prison and looks after his interest. But what happens when his released from prison. Will she have to leave or will she be able to get to know the sexy nerd a bit better 😊♥
I loved this story. These two are my favorite couple now. I loved Wyett and Six’s friendship. They are freaking hilarious together. Hunt was a hot alpha possessive inside and outside the bedroom. I loved how he took care of Wyett and trying to help her with her situation with her aunt. But also he was on her side and would do anything for her. Definitely my favorite. I cant wait for Sin’s story 😊 ♥
Ok, Lani Lynn Vale, Imma need you to stop being so freaking talented. My heart, mind, body, and soul are unable to process this amount of awesome and I don't know if I can ever actually recover from the book hangover I currently have after reading Doin' A Dime. See, I already thought Lani had delivered the best of couples, and then here she comes, dropping Wyett and Hunt and ruining me for all others. How is anyone supposed to live up to these two?! Especially Hunt. Lort, that man. He's just out here ticking all my "Yes, please!" boxes. ✔Sexy Nerd ✔Only soft for his woman ✔Loves dogs ✔Protective while still being respectful Sign me up! I will read this man over and over again for all eternity and never stop smiling about it.
At first I thought Hunt was a bit creepy with his eye lash comment to Wyett and how he looked into her. But then when he customized a job for her I liked him better, sure it also benefited him, but it was mostly for Wyett, giving her a safe place while she battled her aunt. I really liked how Hunt and Wyett got to know each other while he was in jail. The visits allowed them to become comfortable with each other.
The MC, seemed like an odd place for Hunt, but he fit in and got along good with Lynn. I also loved how Hunt went after Wyett's aunt and helped bring her down.
The ending to this one had me laughing, from the last jail visit to a little one snowing the cop.
Excellent read! I have wanted Hunt to have his own HEA ever since he first appeared in Any Day Now. He intrigued me & when I learned he was part of this series... well, I may have excitedly squealed a little. ; )
Anyway, Hunt & Wyett are awesome & I loved their story! It was fun & flirty in the beginning, even w/ Hunt having to go off to prison. I also HIGHLY enjoyed the level of interaction all the guys have in this one, as well as seeing more of Six & Wyett's friendship. They're nuts when they're together & it's HILARIOUS! Even better, tho, are all the guys' reactions. HA!!
This story has banter, wit, sass, steam, action, and puppers! Highly recommend!
First off lets just say we are loving this new series. We loved this story from cover to cover it was a lot of fun, a bit sad because Hunt and Wyett did not hit the lottery when it came to family it was quite the opposite.
Hunt that sexy little computer was quite the surprise and not your typical geek. We fell instantly in love and more and more in love as we turned the pages. Hunt in our book was superman without a caped what he did for a woman he knew in passing was remarkable even willing knowing the consequences not only did he do what he did for justice her did it for future generations.
Wyett was just another character that was easy to fall for not only was she kind and sweet she had one heck of a backbone to survive what she did living under the roof of her sinister Aunt. Loved her personality, she made us laugh time and time again.
We loved the fact this couple had a very unusual beginning but, even with that beginning, you somehow just knew they were meant to be together.
Overall we loved this story, and we can't tell you how many times we laughed throughout this book it was just what we needed, and the characters were just amazing, and it amazes me that this eclectic group just fits together knowingly. Wyett said it best they were family and in the fact that she or her children would never be unloved as there was a ton of love in that group of misfits who may be bad men in the eyes of others but, do what right and just in their eyes for all the right reasons. Talk about chemistry and hotness, this book was full of sizzle. Can't wait for the next in this awesome series who have so many amazing characters, and we definitely can't get enough of them.
Hunt and Wyett meet each other under VERY weird circumstances….but Hunt is intrigued by Wyett so he does his “hacker” thing and devises a plan to help her out and himself🤔 Now a few years later and Hunt is getting out of prison early and he needs Wyett to continue helping him but he needs to ensure she feels the same way about him that he feels about her❣️
A great story that kept me riveted and continuously swiping to get to the next page, the next chapter and then to that amazing epilogue😂 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series with Sin❤️
My, oh my, I knew the sexy nerds did it better! *wink, wink* Actually Ms. Vale was the one rocking it, because Doin' A Dime hit all the right spots for me. All. Of. Them. Oh la, la, just be prepared, Hunt and Wyett are going to knock you 'marriage of convenience' lover's heart, in all the right ways! *Dreamy sigh*
Full review to follow...
“Love you, Wyett,” I told her quietly. “You mean the world to me.” She pulled back so I could look into her watery eyes. “You are the world to me.”
Gotta love the geeky hot possessive dominate hero!
Good addition to the series, learned some more about the guys, but nothing about Lynn's primary mission.
Did border on sex overload because once they started having sex they didn't stop - it was like every chapter. Would have appreciated more story development.....
When Hunt McJimpsey sees Wyett Villin and has a short interaction with her, he knows he has found a solution to his problems. Hunt is schedule to turn himself in jail for a computer hack he does not regret, but he needs a wife who will be in control of his home, dogs and protecting his interest. When Wyett answers his carefully created ad he knows she is the one.
Hunt is serving his time and the one highlight is when Wyett comes to visit. However Wyett has issues with an Aunt who is doing a number on her and while Hunt is behind bars he is doing his best protecting. When a man arrives to offer Hunt a deal to get him out sooner, Hunt decides he is on board and the one thing he is focused on is making it known to Wyett he doesn't want to let her go. While they could easily divorce and go their separate ways, Hunt knows he needs her by his side is Wyett willing to give him a real chance?
There is a lot to this story that I am not going to delve into. This was a wild ride and the interaction between Six and Wyett is hilarious. Hunt is not what I expected he is a bit darker then I thought he would be. Sizzling chemistry between Wyett and Hunt. Amazing story and I can't wait for more.
This author’s characters never fail to make me laugh yet always tug at my heart as well. Hunt and Wyett have moved to the head of that line! Hunt was all big and bad as an ex-con with abs of steel yet phobias that made him heart-meltingly human. Wyett was his champion, as he was hers, and was ready to fight for, and with him. Together, they made the most endearing couple…
Seriously. These two were made for each other. They were struggling with some horrible, life-threatening things, yet they still managed to live each day to the max. They craved (and loved) each other, and you could see (and feel) it in all the mundane daily things – as well as the crazy, drama-filled ones as well. Entwined through it all was love and friendship, between themselves, their friends. Their puppy kids.
I finished this story and started right back at the beginning because I couldn’t help myself. I needed more of the heat and heart that was Wyett and Hunt!
Wyett answers a Live-in property & pet caretaker ad. A four year commitment with generous benefits and a marriage of convenience requirement. Posted specifically for her.
She wasn’t concerned by the size of the house or the types of animals. She needed a sanctuary from her nightmarish childhood home and away from the person that she most despised.

Hunt McJimpsey was a sexy computer hacker, convicted after meting out his own brand of justice. Always cautious, he planned every aspect to ensure not to leave a trail. One mistake costs him a ten year prison sentence. Two years ago, someone cruelly ruined an elderly lady’s life, embezzling her out of her entire life’s savings. Three hundred and forty thousand dollars. A rather large corporation that ‘helped’ the elderly manage their money. Only, they didn’t manage her money. She needed access to her money for her cancer treatment, but they refused. They would go on walks every single day and she told him everything about it the night before their usual walk. When he visited her because she hadn’t met him for their regularly scheduled walk, he found her dead. She’d committed suicide. The note explained it all—she didn’t want to die in pain—so she chose her own way out.
Four years ago Observing Wyatt he realises she has really long eyelashes. So long, that can’t help but wonder if they’re real. “Are your eyelashes real?” I blurted. “Yeah,” she said. “They are. Why? Do they not look real?” “They’re so long that they kind of make me think that they’re not. Can I pull them?” So I didn’t interact with people all that much. “Sure.” She grinned. “Go ahead.” When I reached forward and did just that, I think she was surprised. The only thing to come off when I reached for her eyelashes was a bit of mascara and one tiny hair. I looked down at it on my calloused finger, made a wish, and blew it off. When I opened my eyes again, she was walking away, sipping her coffee as she did.”
At six months into Hunt’s prison sentence, she visits him and sees a dark, brooding stranger, a shadow of his former self.
He’s a changed man, harder, angrier, and even more intensely brilliant.
“What brings you here?” he asked, sounding distant. He also felt different. As if the man that had gone into this place wasn’t the same man that’d come to me now. My eyes trailed over his face, his eyes, then down his neck. It paused on a scar on his throat, and my eyes lowered. He cleared that throat where the scar hung, causing my eyes to come up to his.”
“What happened?” I asked softly. “A shiv,” they tried to cut my throat the first week I was in here.” “How… why?” I stiffened. His lips formed into a small smile. “Because they could. There doesn’t have to be a reason. I was new. Big. Intimidating. They didn’t want me to think that I was big man on the totem pole because of my size, so they made sure to let me know.”
Eight months later
He looked rougher than he had before. After my first visit, I’d made it a mission of mine to go see him once a month. Sometimes even more than that if I could hack it. Except, I’d gotten sick last month and had missed our visit. So sick, in fact, that I was still trying to regain my strength. Apparently, I’d caught my first casualty of war—pneumonia—from nursing school.”
When an opportunity for early release is presented, he jumps at the opportunity to leave his own personal hell behind.
Hunt doesn’t like being touched, being close to anyone, or even thinking about getting touched. Wyett is the exception.
Meeting his awful family members is sheer torture. Cretins that never deigned to visit him in prison, yet aghast at the temerity of being presented with Wyett, suggesting theirs must be a marriage of convenience.
After meeting all three sisters, as well as the one brother, she was introduced to copious amounts of undisciplined children running around, unsupervised and out of control . The entire visit, they were mostly ignored. Hunt isn’t adopted, he’s the result of his father’s infidelity with his secretary. When he was born, his father’s wife took him in, and the secretary had to sign away her rights to remain gainfully employed. It’s easier to treat him as an outcast rather than having to explain that he’s a mere half-brother.
“I found out by cleaning off my father’s computer when I was eleven. They’ve been selling this lie that I’m adopted since.” “They sound like awful people, why do you even hang around them?” He’d sat down and they’d all handed him computers, as if the only reason he was there was for their personal convenience, too lazy to take it to a computer store. That’s all he was to them. “You should just slow all their computers down to the point where they go buy new ones. Or do annoying things like make their computer browsers close and not re-open with all the tabs they had up.” “If I fix it well, they won’t come calling. And I won’t feel obligated to stop by any time soon.” “You shouldn’t feel obligated anyway, these people are like cancer. I haven’t seen a single redeeming quality in any of them. Not even the kids”.
My wife had just saved their blood family’s life, and they couldn’t even thank her. Hell, that poor kid was standing by the edge of my sister’s chair, looking pitiful, while Willa chatted away about all the M&M’s that were scattered across the floor that Wyett had dropped. Gritting his teeth, he placed a call, vowing to block all their phone numbers from his life. “Hunt? Is that really you? How the hell are you, man?” Out of all of my brothers-in-law, Phil was actually one of the better ones. “Your wife decided to trash my wife for the last hour, chose to whisper like a catty bitch instead of watch your kid, and he nearly drowned in the pool. The two-year-old. My wife saved him from drowning, but now your poor kid looks like he’s about to cry at any second and Willa’s too busy bitching about how fat she thinks my wife is to notice or care, now, I’m not sure if you trust someone to watch your kid who nearly let him drown, but I felt like you needed to know.” “I’ll be there in ten minutes,” he said. I hung up and shoved the phone back into my pocket and then walked to my family. “I am dead to you, I no longer exist at all. I no longer exist to you. I hope he divorces you. I hope that you see how utterly awful of a person you are. I hope that tonight you can’t sleep as you think about your young child nearly dying because you were over here talking about my wife and how fat you think she is instead of watching your kid as he slowly drowned in the pool. And I hope that it sits like a bitter pill in your throat as you think about my sexy as f-k wife saving your son from dying.” I turned to my ‘mother.’ “And you,” I spat. “Thanks but no thanks. I’m not your child. I’m some whore’s son. That is actually better for me. I really appreciate you saying that I’m adopted all those years, though. It makes me feel better that people won’t know that I’m related to this a**hole family in any way by blood. And seriously, don’t come knocking when sh*t hits the fan. Leave me out of it.”
Wyett’s aunt has been squirrelling away vast amounts of money from her trust funds for years. Her parents’ will clearly stated that in the event of their death, she would be entrusted to her uncle Deighton. Only, they hadn’t planned on her uncle being with them when they died. They also never planned for her aunt to crawl out of hiding after ten years and petition her mum’s best friend for custody. Because, if they had, they would’ve made arrangements to ensure her mum’s best friend, Andromeda, as custodian in the event of her uncle’s death. Watching over meant she had access to her trust fund. Stella relished a lavish lifestyle. Wyett would not have control over her trust funds until the age of twenty-five.
The final straw had been when she’d informed Wyett that her father’s estate wasn’t meant to pay for petty things like advanced educations. Yet, it could pay for her to get her nails done, and her hair highlighted. “You may live here until six months after my birthday, which is when it’ll be going on the market to sell, and, though this is all in the paperwork, I’ll give you the highlights version. If you wish to buy it, that’s fine, but not a penny of my parents’ estate will be touched. You have been removed from all accounts except one, in which a monthly stipend of a thousand dollars will be transferred. After six months, you will no longer get that. All furniture, knick-knacks, and every item down to every single spoon, has been accounted for. It is listed, item by item. Even the belongings in your room. You may take everything that is yours that my parents didn’t buy. And I’ll be generous and allow you to have your clothes. At six months, you’re either out of here on your or I call the cops and you’re out of here not on your own. Your choice”.
As expected, her aunt contested her inheritance freezing all of her assets, thankfully she is resourceful and has both a job and a home with Hunt.

Hunt and Wyett gave me all the best feels. Both characters lived pretty dysfunction lives with terrible families that made their lives difficult to say the least.
Hunt doesn't like to be touched. He doesn't really like being around people in general, he prefers to dig up all their dirty secrets on screen instead. He's the hot nerd with the strength and 6pack to match his brain. He's sharp and likes control but he has this sweet side with Wyatt that really hits you in all the feels. I loved him hard.
Wyatt is my kind of woman. She's been through the ringer emotionally and physically. Shes experienced so much hardship and yet she isn't jaded and despite her circumstances she still managed to reach for the stars and chase what she wanted. She's strong and loyal and understanding of those around her. She's also hilarious and super relatable. She's that all round loveable character.
These two had me all up in my feels. Their journey is just so endearing. The struggles they faced. The time apart and together.. everything they endured on their journey to HEA. It made them stronger, it made them truly appreciate one another and love eachother harder. I adored the unsure awkwardness of that initial attractive and not actually being able to do much about it. I freaking LOVED the build up and all the anticipation I felt when reading it. The tension is real. The chemistry is explosive. They fit together in the sweetest way but it's not just that.. the banter, the ease between them. Everything just felt right.
I died laughing here. There is so much to their story.. so much depth. So many wonderful multidimensional characters that instantly have you intrigued and wanting more. The story is slow burning but it didn't feel slow or like it was missing anything despite it not being super action packed. It was gritty with a little darkness and unpredictability. It was also all kinds of hilarious and swoony!!. It has all the feels.
This series is shaping up to be my favourite yet of Lani's. I've bought and read every single book from this author so when I say that, it's no small feat. Even after the many books she still continues to deliver books that make me escape reality, experience every emotion possible and still leave me wanting more in the best ways. Bring on the next!!. I'm so excited for Kitty Kitty!!.
Extremely invested in this series! I truly love the premise of this new series from Lani Lynn Vale – good people that make decisions for the better good but that change their lives forever and mark them as bad people – it doesn’t get better than this! This installment involves Wyett, who after the death of her parents and their friend, ends up living with her awful aunt, biding her time until she gains access to her trust at 25. Hunt is the computer genius of the MC, but before he joined forces with them, he purposefully got caught and faced jail time, but after meeting Wyett, he decides to protect and support her before he goes to jail so he creates an advertisement only she can see that will get her out from under her aunt and able to live her own life. After seeing the same ad everywhere, Wyett finally answers it, and ends up marrying Hunt before he leaves for his sentence. As the years go by, the pair become protective of each other and develop feelings, but prison changes Hunt, and by the time he gets the opportunity to join the MC, he’s not the man he was when he entered. The crazy drama that unfolds involving Wyett’s aunt is crazy – and there were definitely things I didn’t see coming, but I loved every second of reading this book. I continue to love LLV’s books as well as this series, and I can’t wait to see who’s next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Their marriage of convenience turned into true love in the most uncommon situation, that is, h visited H once in a month when he was in the prison. After he was released, they got to know each other better, not to mention the chemistry.
While Doin’ a Dime was lighter on action, it more than made up for it with sizzle because this one was super hot!
Who knew Hunt had such a bad boy side? The quiet hacker of the group might get his hands dirty in a different way, but he’s definitely not someone to mess with. With a few keystrokes, he can wreck your life. Good thing Wyett has him in her corner. If anyone needs a knight in shining armor, it’s her.
For fans of geeky guys who get the girl, Doin’ a Dime is a must read! There’s plenty of heat between Hunt and Wyett, just enough intrigue to keep you hooked, and lots of moments that will make you want a Hunt of your very own. Wyett is a strong woman who likes to handle things on her own, but she understands Hunt’s need to take care of her. These two were so sweet together! They were perfectly matched in every way.
Two thumbs up! Five stars! Ms. Vale knocked this one out of the park...
With one book after another Ms. Vale has created a special place in my heart courtesy of her delightful couples, steamy storytelling, and sizzling action both in and out of the bedroom. Each new release has me waiting in breathless anticipation while being left with a smile on my face once the last page is turned. Today's new release once again kept me glued to the pages as two apparent opposites find a decadently delightful connection in the MC world that has these two going from friends to something much more in a charming slow-burn romance.
Readers have seen glimpses of Hunt McJimpsey in previous books, but it's here that he takes center stage...and boy, what a big impression he makes on me! As a computer hacker Hunt's always been content being in the background. He's always the man with a plan, but when a hacking job goes awry he ends up with a prison sentence of five years. While he's away he makes a deal with a young woman to care for his property and pets in exchange for a marriage of convenience. Things don't go quite as planned though as her monthly prison visits bring them closer together in a heartwarming connection that changed both of them irrevocably. From the outside Hunt looks to be a real bad ass, someone you don't want to mess with. But behind the MC facade is a delightful hero. Hunt's sexy with a strong code of honor as he's quick to help the little guy defeat the bad guys. He looks as though he fears nothing but he has some quirks that humanize him and make him all the more endearing. His family is truly unpleasant and I hope to see them eventually get their comeuppance as their actions during his childhood has left him unable to be touched, made him doubt the existence of love. He's drawn to Wyett from the very start and I thoroughly enjoyed their slow-burning relationship as it helped readers see a different side to them both. Readers got heartfelt talks and deep insights that strengthened their connection and made them both stronger. With each turn of the page I fell even more in love with Hunter and have added him to my list of book boyfriends.
Wyett Villin is a formidable heroine with an evil aunt who's trying to rob her of her inheritance which makes an ad placed by a computer hacker for a house and pet sitter the answer to all her prayers. She'll have a safe place to live while getting the protection of her smart and sexy husband in name only. In exchange she shows herself to be a loyal, caring, and kind hearted wife in name only whose monthly visits have them starting out as friends before their connection turns even more sizzling. Wyett's a delightful heroine from start to finish, a heroine who puts Hunt first and shows him that he's indeed worthy of being loved. They make each other better and are perfect additions to the Souls Chapel Revenants as they continue on their plan to clean up the town and the nefarious things occurring behind the scenes.
This is another winner from Ms. Vale courtesy of an immensely appealing main couple and their adorable journey to HEA. There's sweetness, steaminess, with just a bit of mystery and angst throughout the story. There's also richly rewarding humor that often put a smile on my face, a smile that I'm still wearing as I think of this book now. Along with an unforgettable main couple, with their sweet and sizzling romance, were glimpses of the other members of the MC. Some we've seen before and some are just starting to have their stories told, but either way I was drawn to them and was captivated by the unconventional and familial vibe between them all. By the turn of the final page Ms. Vale has once again shown herself to be the Master of MC Storytelling and I recommend this book (and series) to all those wanting a story that warms the heart, makes you blush, all while keeping you on the edge of your seat!

Ohhh I didn't think I'd like the story of Hunt and Wyett so much (these are two characters that I have trouble understanding in the previous books) but in the end it was a huge surprise crush =D I loved their first meeting (the quintessential bizarre meet-cute with the eyelashes xD) and I loved watching them fall in love little by little despite their differences !
Same criticism as the previous books (and I have the impression that this will be the case for the whole series), it lacks a well-constructed plot (I would have liked more answers and that we had a lot more details on child trafficking !) and drama related to their family / ex etc. (their families were awful but I wish I had so much more detail and confrontation ! Like for the heroine's aunt killing her hitmen ?) I guess that's why I usually love the books by LLV and that's why even if I really enjoyed reading this book, it's not a favorite !
In short, if you are looking for a cute and sexy romance easy to read, I recommend it !
Hunt needs a caregiver for his house and dogs when he goes to jail . . . he picks Wyett and makes it look like a random job posting. Wyett needs a place to stay as she fights her crazy aunt for her parents’ estate and agrees to a marriage of convenience. However, with one visit a month they somehow start falling in love and wanting more.
Hunt and Wyett are my favorite couple of the series so far! Hunt is a sexy computer nerd with a fabulous sense of humor. I adored that he hated to be touched by anyone, including his family, but never felt that way with wyett. And, I loved that even though he is a hacker and enjoys getting revenge on the bad guys, he has an absolute moral compass and heart of gold.
Wyett is super quirky and I really adored her as a character. She is a hard worker and loyal to a fault and is the perfect person for Hunt . . . and the first person to really put him first his entire life! She also fits well into the little family that Lynn is creating, especially since she is Six’s best friend.
As a couple Hunt and Wyett are adorable and endearing . . . and hot as can be!!!
While we don't hear much about Lynn's business in this book, there is a fantastic backstory to Hunt's rotten family and an even crazier tale about Wyett’s insane aunt. I will also never think of camping the same again . . . and fully endorse why Hunt and Wyett decided to move out of his loft! 5 stars!
Doin a Dime by Lani Lynn Vale Souls Chapels Revenants #4- Releasing May 18th
“Your hair reminds me of a pineapple,” he murmured softy. “You’re a fineapple.”
I seriously don’t know how Lani does it, her books book me in from the very beginning and I can not put them down. This book was absolutely amazing, the main characters meet in a very peculiar way but it takes nothing away from their romance and the sparks that fly between these two.
Hunt McJimpsey is the quiet one, the one in the back on his computer that people normally wouldn’t look twice at, but this man has some serious looks and even more skills on a computer. Whilst he’s normally pretty good at covering is tracks and impose decision levels him going to the last place he expected. Then he runs in to a beautiful young women who flicks his mind in to gear with a plan he is sure is going to succeed.
When growing up, Wyatt Villin went to an all girls catholic school she absolutely hated, but what was worse was that it was better then being at home. One thing is is grateful from that place is meeting her equally as strange best friend Six. Wyett is finally 25 and is ready to get her life back, but some huddle come up that she just can’t shake, but getting married to a complete strange might just save her.
I am absolutely loving this series, I do not know who Lani does it. This hot computer nerd and this strange nurse have some series bang. I loved it and can’t not wait for book 5.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Doin A Dime and for that I’m very grateful.
Not my first read by this author and I started reading ARC vise this series from book 1 and 2 then I came across book 3 and wasn't really a fan based off of the blurb and what I kind of know what's coming from Book 2. So I stopped, and skipped to this Book 4 in which I purchased and really glad I did because I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. From page one, Lani has a special way with words is the best way I can describe it. It's fresh, new and keeps you captive for all the pages. Now I know not every book of her's will be it for me so I am glad to report this was. From the hero and heroine to the actions and side characters everything was what I loved about the author's writing style and this series. Looking forward to more!
This is another hit by LLV! I loved both Hunt and Wyett and their insta-chemistry. The story kept me hooked and I had to read it as fast as real life would let me. I laughed and cried and loved all the characters. I cannot wait for the next book! ~ANDREA
"The more I read, the more I enjoy this group of misfits. Hunt and Wyett's story is another hit in the series. Hunt is the quirky, smexy, hacker that can worm his way into finding any information he's looking for, no matter how hard someone tries to hide it. Wyett has family issues of beyond her control that are wreaking havoc on the life she is trying to create. When she and Hunt find each other, their story is put on hold just as soon as it starts. Instant attraction, building chemistry, mystery, suspense, nagging unanswered questions, strong character connections that continue to build. A story that I literally read in one sitting because I couldn't stop turning the pages. Next up, Kitty, Kitty. Looking forward to Sin's story. " ~Shirley
This series is fun to read with the usual LLV OTT flare! The characters and secondary characters are easy to like and they all relate well to one another. The heroines are fun especially six and wyett.
Hunt was such a sympathetic character that was impossible to not like. He did it tough in jail and the only thing LLV didn’t do was show us he revenge promised on the guard that constantly beat him up and made his life hell along with being creepy to Wyatt when she came to visit. Maybe we may see that closure in another book.🙃
I laughed quite a bit during this story, but still felt like something was missing that I can't pinpoint. It may be because I've been anticipating a story for Wyett, since she's Six's best friend and I knew she would end up with one of these guys.
Maybe because of that anticipation I was a bit disappointed that the chemistry wasn't more explosive.
Finally, I’ve been waiting to get my hands on Wyett and Hunt’s story and I devoured it all in one sitting! It was love and first eyelash...lol!!! Hunt and Wyett’s love bloomed under the oddest circumstances, but it was stronger and untouchable! They’re a force together and their love story made my heart so happy!
