James Wyatt is an award-winning game designer at Wizards of the Coast, and now holds the position of Design Manager for Dungeons & Dragons. He was one of the lead designers for D&D 4th Edition and one of the original designers of the Eberron Campaign Setting, and has written and co-authored dozens of game supplements. He grew up in Ithaca, New York, and now lives in Washington State with his wife and son.

Not bad. I liked it, and hadn't read an Eberron novel in quite a while. it does have one plot point that is so blazingly obvious from almost the beginning but isn't discovered by the protagonists until the very end. I know that's dramatic irony, but the author kept it up a little too long.

I enjoyed this story about a scholar/adventurer and his friends returning to a previous jungle research site to tie up loose ends and potentially face down an escaping evil. The party itself was nuanced, which was nice - they were friends, but also had plenty of backstory drama to keep them and their conversations/fights interesting.

I do need to point out that while the cover art is exceptional, there is, alas, no sexy tiger lady at all in the story despite her prominence on the cover. Not really a spoiler.

What a pleasant surprise. Coming of the first book which was crap, the second being highly enjoyable, my mind was open. Every now and again I would think back over the chapter I had just read and think “but nothing happened ... but it was interesting to read. “ or “they travelled and talked and traveled ... and it was interesting”.
Really enjoyed this book.

Otra novela rolera entretenida. un poco previsible, pero con un final tremendamente ameno y emocionante. Y hay que reconocerle el esfuerzo en el tratamiento de los conceptos del bien y el mal y su lucha eterna.
Y además dejando cabos sueltos y misteriosos.
