How to (Not) Marry a Princess

Rate this book
Saving princesses is hard work. Getting out of marrying them is harder.

Brice has come to the dragon’s lair to save poor Princess Primrose, even if he doesn’t want her hand in marriage. The beautiful young man being held captive alongside her is a surprise, and Brice may not want a prize for his chivalry, but he wouldn’t mind taking Aidan home with him.

Quirky and fun...I suppose I just expected the secret to have a little bit more impact on the story. There was a lot of room to play and I felt it was a missed opportunity.
Still, it was an enjoyable little short.
And bonus, it was free!

3.75 stars rounded up

Cute little fairy tale about a knight who goes to rescue a princess who has been kidnapped by a dragon, but he definitely DOES NOT want to marry the princess. Instead, he ends up staying at the dragon's lair for another person, the young man who lives there.

I'm rounding up the rating because Brice's best friend, his horse Rocinante, is such a delight!

A charming and unusual fairy tale. Our hero is a poor knight with a great relationship with his horse. Together they try to do the kind things a knight does such as rescuing kidnapped princesses. He finds the dragon cave and watches other arrogant knights defeated by the dragon. While the dragon is busy he sneaks into the cave. What he finds there is a serious departure from the standard fairy tale. The characters, including the dragon and his family are adorable. Very definitely a fun read with a happy ending.

A knightly read!

Saving princesses is hard work...
Getting out of marrying them is harder...

Was not expecting that twist - knew there was a lot more mystery and that we would get answers but it was a total surprise. Although looking back, there was some clues (I'm glad I didn't pick up on it beforehand as it made it all the more enjoyable).

Lovely writing and enjoyable characters. Great story.

Full of knights, princesses, rescue, dragons and love.

Perfect for readers of fantasy romances.

This was utterly charming and amusing. It reads very much like a fairy tale, no on page steam but it's delightfully sweet. The character of Ro the horse was just... wow such sass!
The reveal at the end had me dying I knew there had to be a twist, but I did not see THAT one coming. I had to put my ipad down for a minute.

Such a charming and sweet story! Each person gets to blaze their own path to happiness in the future. They each find a way to make their own choices, even when their parents may have something different in mind. Sweet and fun!

That was precious. A completely charming, wonderful little short story that gives warmth and fuzzy-feels like it gets paid to.

5/5. Calm down, people. It’s just a fun little faerytale, it’s not that deep.

Sweet and fun, without making me gag. I liked it, even though it is certainly not something I would likely read much of.
