About the author

Born on the glorious Atlantic Coast of Canada, on a tiny island called Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, Mira is the only child of two only children. Reading and writing was an escape for the shy, quiet and curious child. Not really fitting in, became more of a badge of honor as years went by. Originality was something she aspired to define on her own terms, often going against the social norm for her own views on what was right or wrong.

Now in her 30's, Mira still lives on the same Island she was born. A true Caper, who never left for any reason except a few short trips beyond the causeway, the idea of being far from her roots never enticed her away... Now, she is raising four children, surrounded by extended family and lots of pets. When Mira isn't writing she is cooking, painting or wanting to be writing.

Iver and Ilayna

Romance between members of two tribes. Iver is the king of the mountain tribe and has captured Illayna and wants to make her his queen.

The narrative jumps around a bit.

Characterization and plotting are good.

The first book in the Princes of Insula series. Illayda is the princess of Willow Kye tribe she is forced into Iver, The Bear King's territory, he is the new king of the Wood Lords and wants her. I enjoyed reading, and want to read more in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
