The beloved fashion and lifestyle illustrator celebrates the best, most important joys of all--the little pleasures--in this guide full of ideas and inspiration for tapping into your own happiness and creativity.
This delicious book begins with an invitation to discover joy every day, just as Kerrie Hess does. Her fabulously creative life has turned her into one of the most eagerly-watched influencers on Instagram. Kerrie's secret is that she's discovered the little things that make her heart sing, and now she wants to help you do the same. From the very first sparkling words to the charming illustrations of macarons, peonies, teacups, and jewelry to the images of strong, chic women who grace its pages, this book is a love letter and guide to what makes us truly happy. Weaving through pleasures, including relaxation, creative pursuits, time with family and friends--in person or virtually--as well as fashion, beauty, home, and travel, Kerrie shares her favorite joy-givers and her tips for bringing sparkling moments into each day. Brimming with Kerrie's signature original watercolor illustrations and photo vignettes, and beautifully evocative text written with Paris Dreaming author Katrina Lawrence, this book is an unquestionable object of desire. Garance Doré's Live Love Style meets Inès de la Fressange's Parisian Chic , with plenty of powerful prettiness and personality that is all Kerrie's, and that will help every reader discover her own sources of inspiration and daily delight.
Kerrie has created a transportive book which inspires each reader to add a little piece of joy within their daily routine. This could be, sipping tea from your favourite tea cup, indulging in a sweet pastry from Ladurée or spending an evening curled up with a book and cuddling your pet. There are so many ways to add little sparks of joy into your daily life and Kerrie's book has allowed me to focus more upon these little, seemingly insignificant details...🌸
Great book that talked about bring the joys in the little things such as stop & smell the roses or having a cup of tea with your grandma. Not forgetting to put your perfume on and wearing your nice clothes for no special occasion at all. To make planning for a vacation a joy by visualizing the vacation every night the couple weeks leading up to it and to romanticize the packing. Also to look up little places to go while you’re there.
She also talks about how a vision board can come true to keep doing them every year. To clean, organize and curate your wardrobe to pieces that make you always feel great. To be mindful, present and to meditate.
All in all great book definitely a reread at least once a year.

Beautiful art and colors. This book encourages femininity and all the girly things that have been forgotten or hidden or to shy to reveal. It reminded me that I love bouquets of flowers in my home and the color pink. It is a book for the girly girls that are looking for a relatable friend or perhaps to find a part of them that has been tucked away, waiting for some encouragement. It is also a time piece written during the pandemic, with subtle references, reminding us how our focus could be redirected more on ourselves when given the space, or solitude.
A cute "coffee table" read. This woman clearly enjoys her life to the fullest & is the epitome of femininity. Sweet suggestions for everyday living, albeit more suited for a "young adult" audience, things I would have relished reading when I was 18 and desperately trying to make a statement about myself. Lots of lovely, simple, beginner "how-to's". I would have enjoyed something a bit more appropriate to a women running a household, or glamour with children in tow- but that's simply the season of life I am in. Gorgeous illustrations apt for reading in the bath or a spa afternoon :)
This was such an uplifting book to dip in and out of and keep on the coffee table for others to look at. The art work of Kerrie Hess is just divine in this and all of the tips in finding joy in the little things was timely for living through a pandemic. This book is as beautiful as the delightful Ms Hess when I met her earlier this year at a Mother's Day high tea. There are a few quotes in this book that I will definitely be using in the future.
As opposed to other methods of “sparking joy” where you live your life frugally wearing your one white t-shirt, one pair of jeans and sipping from one teacup!
This book allows you to spark joy surrounded by your own eclectic possessions! If that means mismatched teacups... fantastic, that’s your joy!
Honestly makes me want to book a flight to Paris and eat macarons at Ladurée!
What a beautiful book. The illustrations are so pretty and it’s overall a reminder to stop and appreciate on the little day-to-day things that make life beautiful and joyful. A blissful read ahead of a brand new year.
It's Midge Maisel meets Marie Kondo .................. Directed toward women younger than I. However, I did find a couple of interesting ideas and comments that might improve my outlook.
I so enjoyed this girlie book. The writing, the illustrations, the content. If you'd like a couple of hours to disconnect & unwind & give your brain a bubble bath, this is the book.
