This Charmless Man

Rate this book
For fans of Sophie Ranald, Maxine Morrey and Mhairi McFarlane.

Dating hasn't always turned out well for Lucy and her latest prospect isn't any different when this 'perfect' man turns out to be...well, rather charmless. Not that she cares, but for some reason Lucy always seems to be making a fool of herself in front of this jerk whenever they bump into each other.

But what happens when he helps her out of a sticky situation? Maybe this charmless man isn't as charmless as she first thought? Could he possibly be attracted to her?

And just when Lucy starts getting her life on track, her career explodes and takes her to unexpected places and notoriety. Please don't mention Knickergate!

Can the two misfits ever get together or have they both blown it before it begins?

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by!

I’m a writer living in the beautiful city of Bath, along with my husband, two kids, and our mischievous dog, Bobby. My writing journey began while living in sunny Spain, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I love to explore a variety of genres, from lighthearted romantic comedies that’ll make you laugh and swoon, to deeper, more mysterious tales that might just give you chills. Whether you're looking for a heartwarming escape or something with a twist, you’ll find it all in my collection—available on Kindle Unlimited.

I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out at lmbarrett.author@gmail.com with any thoughts, comments, or questions.

This had a lot of potential, however, I don’t like falling-down-can’t-remember-what-happened-last-night drunk heroines. Shame.

If you are looking for a "funny feel-good romantic comedy" as the byline suggests, this is not the book for you.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a terrible book but, bloody hell, it's definitely none of those light frivolous things.

It starts off great, 2 people who can't stand each other then come to realise they've misjudged each other - I would have been happy if that had been the whole book.

Add in lots of drunkeness, newly acquired fame, cheating and drug addiction plus yeaaaars in between before the couple finally get back together and you're more on track.

Like I say, no a terrible book but definitely not the story I thought I was going into.
