Wolf Bonded

Rate this book
A year on the run, and this is where it’s led me.
North Port, Washington—the last place you’d expect to run into a pack of wolf shifters.

Especially when up until now, I didn't know they existed.

When I first arrive, Rory, Marlowe, and Kaleb are about as eager to tell me the truth of their nature as I am to call up my abusive father and let him know exactly where to find me. They have a reputation to uphold and me… I have a reputation to avoid. I need to stay hidden. I need to stay safe.

Or else he’ll find me, just as he always has.

But there’s a problem with that.

I’m not very good at staying hidden, and these boys… they’re not very good at keeping secrets.

Between the four of us, we’re bound to run into chaos. Just like we’re bound in other ways.

Wolf Bonded is a full-length romance novel with multiple love interests. It’s the first book in the Wolfish trilogy, a paranormal series where the main character has no intent to choose just one of the sexy werewolves who’ve fallen head-over-heels for her—whether they like it or not.

Not too bad, this one. The next two books are awful, but this is the one that sucked me in enough to keep me reading.

16-year-old Sabrina and her mother are fleeing her abusive father. They've secretly rented a cabin from one of her mum's colleagues, buried in some tiny podunk town. On Sabrina's first day of school she meets the Gray brothers: Rory, Marlowe and Kaleb are mysterious senior who constantly vanish from school and live in a huge mansion at the top of the mountains. Sabrina is intrigued, especially when she ends up being partnered with Rory for a school project and learns their secret: they're werewolves, and she's their mate. Too bad she's a human and it's forbidden to turn her. She'll wither away and die while they live on for hundreds of years after her... so is there any point to starting a relatiobnship?

That's basically the plot of the whole book. Kaleb is my favourite character: he's like an overgrown, excited puppy and it's quite endearing. Rory is the stubborn alpha-jerk and Marlowe is just insipid as water. No offence to water.

Sabrina herself is quite boring as a heroine too. She seems to have no interests or hobbies, and I actually preferred the boys' POV chapters to hers - something I NEVER do.

Ordinarily I'd be like, 'think I'm going to read the sequel!'. Well, this time I did do that before starting this review, which is how I can categorically inform you that - despite my generous 3-star rating - the rest of this series is crap. Give up while the going's good, if you're going to try this one.

This was a pretty big disappointment. I tried so hard to keep reading. I somehow pulled through but with great annoyance. It started off fine enough but then deteriorated quickly into angsty teenage stupidity and boring star crossed lovers nonsense. It was eerily reminiscent of Twilight.

Sabrina and her mother have been running from her abusive father for about a year now. They’ve finally settled into a little town in Washington, surrounded by forests and quiet. There, Sabrina meets three guys. She’s drawn to them for unknown reasons and can’t help but stare and wonder about them. All very Bella Swan-like, yearning after Edward and being creepy about it. The guys even have the same weird set up as the Cullens did in Twilight, where they sometimes disappear for days on end and then just show back up like nothing happened. She also has the shitty “friends” to boot.

Secrets galore up in this shit too. No one wants to talk about anything and it’s all about “it’s not safe here for you” blah blah spiel. The guys are shit about keeping their secret while showing off their enhanced abilities, so Sabrina knows something is up. Then we finally get to the whole secret reveal thing and Sabrina finds out they can never be real mates together because it’s against the rules to turn a human into a werewolf. So, they’re just not gonna do that. For their fated mate. Yeah. And it’s a dumb reason too for why that rule is set in place.

The plot, again, was very close with Twilight and I didn’t really find the plot engaging. The characters were also dull and disappointing. Not dimensional and didn’t make me connect with any of them.

Anyway, I skimmed pretty hard after some of the complete nonsense I read. I just had to finish the book to see what happened or if the story got better. It didn’t. So yeah, not gonna pick this up again.

First of all I was confused for a most of my time reading this because of the names. That’s my fault, lol, they seem like girl names to me…

Rory is super confusing, like he’s all grumpy, protective of the territory, and stuff like that, then she almost drowns and he’s kissing her and is super confused himself, Idek or care at this point

No clue about the mc‘s dad too, literally the mom should be more understandable, she like stop this doom and gloom! Ugh how irritating, the girl is supposedly scared of shadows (not really if she took a walk at night by herself), and the mom is all annoyed with how her daughter is emotionally scared. Lol I don’t particularly enjoy weak mothers, but what can I say, … nothing

2.5 stars The writing is only okay and the story gets boring. Characters flat.
Even thought I was not expecting much, I still ended up being dissapointed.

I sort of enjoyed the first half of it because I was intriegued and interested, but I do regret that now. I didn't read it for the quality after all, I was expectign something different.. and more exciting.

Point is: I did not like this. The writing is not the most eloquent, but I wouldn't mind that if the character also weren't so.. stupid?? Or I guess if their emotions an actions were convincing and understandable. It just all felt very flat - but also exagerated. At some point it just stopeed making sense.

I wil not continue reading this series.

Not what I expected

Despite the fact that this is a high school romance it was good. At my age I don’t typically read school age books because I can’t relate. However that being said this was really good. Several things happened that I did not see coming which is always a great surprise. The way the kids reacted to things was true to their age which does not always happen in high school books. Reading Sabrina go through so many emotions was heart wrenching. I can’t wait for the next book.

3 stars for Wolf Bonded by Eden Beck. This is book one in the Wolfish series. Ok so Sabrina is a 16 year old who has been on the run from her abusive father. She meets Rory, Marlowe, and Kaleb and they are instantly drawn to each other. So, for me there are a lot of parallels between this book and the Twilight series. I still enjoyed the story and all that came with it.

Rough Twilight fanfic (down to being in Washington…but at least it’s not in Forks, I guess?) the pacing was way too fast and cringey. Also, Romulus is a POS. I seriously hate his character so much I can’t finish the series.

Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.

Wolf Bonded is the first book in the Wolfish series by Eden Beck. This is a (limited) multiple perspective ya paranormal reverse harem. I haven't really come across to many ya reverse harems so I found this book to be very interesting. I mean with a reverse harem there are certain aspects I have become used to and it was interesting to see the author work around the age appropriateness relationships in the story.

Sabrina has a decent head on her shoulders but she still has her moments of bad decision making. I do find her reactions to certain situations to be annoying, like the so-called "friends" she connects with, she needed to be a little more forceful. As for her reaction to the guy's secret was kinda classic, lately, there have been the "Bella Swan" reactions, where the girl isn't totally freaked out but Sabrina had the appropriate reaction, which with my twisted sense of humor, I found kinda funny. Sabrina is a decent character, what I like most about her is that she listens to her instincts.

Her love interests in this book... what can I say, Kaleb is my favorite and the other two need a little work. I hate how they acted towards Sabrina in the beginning, and then they let her in a little but still kept her at arm's length. It kinda seemed like the bond was forced upon them and that kinda sucked for Sabrina. Not gonna lie, it kinda seems like everyone in her life is a real piece of work, I'm not overly joyful about anyone in this book, except maybe Kaleb.

The story was good but for some reason, I couldn't really lose myself like I normally could. There was something off, a missing element and the story just couldn't quite get there for me. That's not saying that I didn't enjoy it, because I did, and I have so many questions. I want to know more about the different packs, the rules, relationships, how things are gonna work out for Sabrina and the guys, and so much more. The overall development of the story was good and I expect it to get even better in the next book.

Wolf Bonded had a lot of the things you would expect in a paranormal ya reverse harem, there was magic, angst, family issues, broody teenage boys, kissing and danger in all forms. Up next in the series is Wolf Broken and I would like to continue with the series to see what happens next.

I don't read too many YA books, but this one really drew me in since I'm a huge sucker for shifter books. Along with the interesting storyline, and resilient main character, Sabrina, I was instantly hooked. Her and her mother have had a troublesome past (and kind of present with them constantly being on the run from Sabrina's father) A lot of times with abuse victims, they want to get out of their situation but are at a point where they are stuck. Oftentimes an abuser ostracizes their victims and makes them rely on their abuser to support them financially. It makes it hard to evict yourself from the environment. It was admirable seeing how Sabrina and her mother did everything they could to live an abuse-free life. At her age, Sabrina has been through more trauma than most adults yet is able to keep a strong head on her shoulders and seems to be more sensible than her own mother at times. She's someone who doesn't trust easy, relies on her gut instincts, and is cautious for good reason. I'm excited to see her open up more as this series continues but still keep that stubborn and smart attitude of hers. The guys, Marlowe, Rory, and Kaleb will help with that, I'm sure. Sabrina is a very resilient girl and handles all of the new information she finds out from them with stride, but she's from a whole different world. I know the guys say that she's one of them now and they'll do anything for her, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will bring her into the inner circle to be in the know about everything werewolf related. I'm pretty sure that it is going to be a complicated mess and not just with the werewolf issue. Tom is one character I'm a little wary about. We don't hear much about him or her friends after a certain point in the book. I expect Tom to make more of an appearance in the next book. Something is up with that kid and I want to know what. Looking forward to finding out in the second book!

I found this author on TikTok so I really wanted to like this book because I enjoyed her content otherwise.

But it’s not a good book.

The writing is stilted and disjointed - the setting changes feel forced, later chapters don’t seem to consider the context of the earlier ones, there’s very little emotive description. Things just don’t make sense.

Sabrina says “haha how *deep* I chose to study a lycanthrope in my Greek classics class” after she finds out the boys are shifters, ignoring how she specifically, textually, chose a wolf because there were bunches of wolves around it gave her a sense of control. Never-mind how a school so small has a class on the Greek classics. Never-mind how the school is so small elementary-highschool are all in the same classrooms and this is.....never mentioned again.

The characterizations of the brothers aren’t exactly inconsistent but they certainly don’t make sense. The characterization of the mother is sparse and played for an excuse to have Sabrina do whatever she wants - until her mother inexplicably invites back her abusive husband - at which point we get an underwhelming scene that doesn’t seem to give proper weight to domestic violence, and the boys “taking care” of her father in the most confusing way.

There’s lots of little points an optimistic reader might get excited about, little things you might be mislead into thinking will go somewhere (like the coupon book with Sabrina’s name on it - where did it come from? Why did she get a coupon book in the first place?) but they never do - all out plot twists come completely from nowhere and don’t have much setup.

Very disappointing, and there’s no adult content to boot.

Wolf Bonded is the story of Sabrina, Harlowe, Rory, and Kaleb.

Insta love I think, fated mates, three brothers and one girl. Kaleb is the cocky one and the youngest, Harlowe is the sweet caring one, and Rory is the grumpy oldest one. They’re all shifters and we’re drawn to her the moment they met her or saved her at the gas station. She’s running away from her abusive father with her mother which at the end her mother calls him back and he drags them with him to go back and she jumps out and gets nearly killed by wolf girl but gets saved by the boys. They all like her but Rory is stubborn and doesn’t want to admit it, Kaleb wants to be with her badly but is held back by his brothers and Harlowe is I’m guessing indecisive or feels the same way. Anyways they keep their wolf self a secret from her until they’re forced to tell her since she passed out from being pushed in the river by Tom which required Rory to give her CPR and also a little kiss. They tell her everything but they can’t invite her to pack things cuz it’s to them not safe for her. Their parents Romulus and Lydia are straight forward and cutthroat and their dad just makes me wanna punch him and Lydia is so petty. But they’re OKAY. Anyways at the end she’s at the hospital after being attacked by wolf girl and her men are there with her till the end. I think they feel guilty. Oh and it’s set in a high school in a small town.

Solid 4.75/5, I just don’t get why Rory and Romulus were so rude to her.

Kinda disappointed with this book

There's so much to unpack here. The struggle between the characters is unreal. And by unreal I mean over the top kinda drama you're going to find in unpleasant to watch shows. The friend situation with the river occurs and she just rolls with it? PTSD doesn't work like that. No normal person would've been like ah shucks guys. I guess you got me out here. After the river the friends just miraculously disappear? There's no more mention of them at all, not even a reference to a confrontation. The whole you can never be together..... all fanfare and brooding music please. Seriously the over the topness was.... hard to read. And the mom.... that whole thing... just no. Honestly I ended up skimming through the last portion just to finish it but there's no plan at all to finish the series. I gave it a 3 because I've read worse books but really some parts were 2 or less. There's just not enough realism in the book to make reading it worthwhile. And before you say but how can werewolves be realistic... psychology is psychology and if you took werewolves out of it, it still wouldn't fit the picture that was trying to be portrayed .

An amazing start to what I suspect is going to be an action packed series... in all forms;) A girl on the run, a toxic home relationship, 3 seriously handsome men and a secret they all have to keep makes for amazing characters. This book read so incredibly quick and kept me on my toes the whole time. This story builds so much into a new world and alternative characters that I can’t wait for the next one. Oh and the ending in this book... I’ve got so many questions and predictions!!! If I were to try and describe it to someone to relate to another book out there I would say it feeds my die hard twilight heart, the story that’s in written where Bella would have been with my choice of man, Jacob, except in this book she’s not the damsel (she’s a smart level headed woman with determination) and she’s got 3 hot wolves as mates... (fans myself aggressively). It’s everything my heart has hoped for in a werewolf/shifter story since my young teenage self read the books and became obsessed with hot werewolf dudes! Thank you Eden!!!

Absolutely loved it!!! A must read!!

If you love wolf shifter romance you must read this story!!! I absolutely enjoyed reading the beginning of the bond between Sabrina and her guys. The little moments and the big moments. I couldn’t stop reading once I started. I am sad about how it’s said she can’t be with her bonded. Although I am curious how she kind of has shown Wolf like tendencies with her hearing, smell, and even instincts. And if it’s not possible for shifters to bond to humans than what is Sabrina really? I’m hoping a hybrid that maybe helps save the species, or a new breed of wolf shifter entirely. I’m really hoping she wont just be a werewolf.
I can’t wait for her dad to get what’s coming to him. And wow if her mom really gave up and let him come back dang the betrayal. And as for Rory, Marlowe, and Kalebs parents wow so not supportive. I can’t wait to see their minds changed.
Awesome and amazing read! I can’t wait to read the next installment!!!

Wolf Bonded

This book is about the dark side of life with the mystical added to it. Sabrina and her mother are on the run from her father. He was very abusive to both of them. They kept moving every couple of months when they felt he was getting close to finding them.
Sabrina's mother, Deliah, has taken a job in the far north of Washington and working under the table so that they cannot be traced. They rent a cabin from a man that has a mansion on the mountain above the cabin. What Delish does not know, is that he is still alive and has three sons that will be in school with Sabrina. Sabrina meets them unexpectedly at the store when a stranger tries to attack her.
Sabrina is too curious for her own safety. She ends up finding out who the three are and who they are. She is having weird feelings about all three that she does not understand.
There is mystery, suspense, and violence within the story.

Here I am again... and honestly am not mad in the slightest at where I have ended up. I have had this book saved for a pretty long time, but something in the blurb just really kept me from wanting to read it. Then, I had tried to read a different book yesterday, and just did not like it, so I ended up DNFing it. I then fell into a small reading slump. I was looking for a book that sounded good, and I stumbled upon this book, and decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad that I did!

I really ended up liking this book, and I will definitely be moving on to the next book. I will be honest, I read the blurb of the next book, and it did not sound that appealing, so I should honestly just stop reading the blurbs, maybe that would help.

I just loved everything about this book, and I am excited to continue on with the series :)

I was on the arc list for this book and let me tell you, I am glad I was! This book was intriguing and enticing from the first page. Sabrina, the FMC, is strong, resilient and ready to love and be loved. Rory, Marlowe and Kaleb, the MMC’s, are well thought out characters with lots of depth and personality. I especially lobe Kaleb’s “gung-ho” attitude. The storyline is easy to follow, but that doesn’t mean you can predict everything that happens. I know I was pleasantly surprised during a few surprising turns in the book. The book does end in a cliff hanger of sorts, which leaves me wanting to find out what happens in the next book, desperately! Lol!

If you’re into RH’s, wolf shifters, PNR, or just looking for a well written and fantastic story, I 100% recommend this book. 🖤

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

This is a great start to a new series! Wow! I fell in love with the characters immediately. This is a slow burn book but you still get all the feels and it leaves you wanting more from the characters.

Sabrina and her mother are running from her abusive father. They try to go off the grid as much as possible. This lands them living right near some wolves and 3 of them are irresistible to Sabrina. She is their mate and they are not allowed to turn her into a wolf without causing a war.

I cannot wait for book 2 in the series! I am looking forward to seeing where this goes with Sabrina and her mates! I think things are going to get interesting.

Ok start

Not my favorite wolf shifter book. I don't want to give any spoilers but I didn't feel like the characters connected enough to be considered mates. I'm still unsure as to what the plot is supposed to be... I found myself skimming through the last couple chapters... maybe next book will be better.

This is the first book in the series and it started with a bang. From the first page, I just couldn't put it down. It had me intrigued and wanting answers. this book has the suspense and I was immediately drawn to the plot and characters. Meeting Sabrina gave me so many emotions, watching her navigate her new world. The boys were wonderful and I wanted to know more about them from the first meeting. The story builds and gives us a rollercoaster of emotions. There's action and a little bit of romance that had me wishing for my own 3 men! And that ending had me wishing I could drive straight into book 2. I want more!

Who doesn’t love a good Wolf shifter story?Sabrina, Rory, Marlowe and Kaleb. These guys are THE gang to watch out for!
Sabrina is your everyday girl just trying to make it through high school. But she has baggage. And he seems to find her wherever she goes.
The boys you’ll fall in love with right away. Rory is your big jock personality, Marlowe is your loveable boy next door type and Kaleb is your energetic younger brother. They are all different but are so on the same wavelength. I can not wait to watch this series and characters grow during the next book!

I really enjoyed this book! It's a slow burn RH about a wolf pack, three of which go to the MC's high school. The MC, Sabrina, has moved with her mother to escape their past and the book is about the developing relationship with the wolves. I love the three boys and their distinctive personalities. This plot and characters are well thought out and the book has a great flow. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait for the second book to come out! If you like wolf shifter's, true mate bonds, a strong MC, action and emotion then this book is for you!

I loved meeting Sabrina who is strong, resilient and intelligent and her shifter guys Marlowe, Rory and Kaleb who turn her life upside down! The storyline flowed throughout with many a twists and turns! The book was bursting with emotion coming of the page! There’s intrigue, action and a sprinkle of romance! This is a book not to be missed! Roll on Book 2!!!

While this book had good potential to be an amazing book, the similarities to Twilight's plot and characters were too close to this book....they were essentially the same set up but with wolves instead of vampires, and multiple mates instead of just the one. Sabrina's character is quite inconsistent as well...since she's running from an abusive father she's getting herself into a whole lot of situations that are potentially dangerous and stupid at night time...but when the lights are back on during the day, she jumps at every little noise and cowers behind items like her life depends on it.

Great start to a new series.
Slow burn werewolf RH

Sabrina and her mother arrive in North Port, Washington looking for a fresh start, there she meets Rory, Marlowe and Kaleb - our werewolves. When Sabrina learns their secret her whole world changes.

I can’t really get in to much without giving away some spoilers but this book gave me some serious twilight vibes at times. Overall I enjoyed and will be keeping an eye out for book 2.

This was a disappointment

It started okay then every scenario was from twilight. Moving to small town in washington, brooding mysterious boys, no ones been to thier big house on the hill, they are drawn to her scent, not being able to be together, jumping off the cliff almost drowning, getting roughed up then bitten and surprise her mates find her, she wakes in hospital with them there and her mom getting coffee. Even phrases are from twilight. This was a waste of time.

DNF @ 34%

I couldn’t care less that I didn’t even get halfway through. Like just no. The setup is a bit too close to Twilight, the MC has the same abusive backstory the damsel always gets. She also has no backbone and is so passive. Also, obnoxious friend/acquaintance/whatevers she is incapable of not being pressured by. I wanted to stop earlier realizing the MC was 16 and I was going to be stuck reading cheap YA and I should have followed my instincts. It is just weak and uncompelling.

So so

I couldn't finish, I tried really hard but just couldn't finish the book. It started out nicely but then had so many contradictions: she was afraid of strangers and being found by her father, yet she wanders in the forest in the middle of the nights where people could get lost and never found as she said. The writing perspective good from a teen's point of view, but the storyline was just too bland - all I could think was Twlight and Jacob.

Reminiscent of Twilight, this was still an engaging book! I liked that the mating was with all three of the brothers and that they weren’t really fighting over her. I was skeptical at first due to the similarities with Twilight but I was pleasantly surprised as I continued reading. I do wish there had been more to do with her father rather than just the mating with the three brothers. But I’m hopeful for book 2

***SPOILERS***

I did not finish this book. I bailed on page 74. There are many similarities to Twilight:

1. There are 3 boys in the family with a patriarch (they were adopted into the family over time)
2. The boys are back in highschool eventhough two of them already matriculated
3. The family had lived in the town before, left, and then came back again
4. The main character makes a group of friends comprising a girl (who admires the boys but tells the main character to not waste her time as they aren't interested in anybody in town) and a boy who is infatuated with the main character.
5. The main character and he friends sit at the lunch table lusting over the boys
6. The boys mysteriously don't show up to school for a few days
