Interesting perspective

This is a concise history of fasting as well as an overview of different types of fasting. There are extreme fasting methods discussed like 7 to 14 day long fasts, but the focus is mostly on the 16/8 fast. This means that you eat for 8 hours a day and fast for 16 hours. I liked that each time the author examined a fasting method, she discussed what types of people it is aimed at and what it is meant to achieve. I took off one star because some of the language is.odd, like substituing the word quick for the diet of a fast. So that was a bit jarring to try to.understand.

Fasting

This book is well written and easy to understand as it takes you thru the steps and reasoning behind fasting. When I think fasting I think I'm terms of days not the 16 hours that is most popular in this book. It also he!ps you to pair it with a good diet like me to to make the effort more successful. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how to program their body to lose weight.

Take control of your health

This book talks about the 16/8 intermittent fasting method. You fast for 16 hours and then eat healthy for the remaining 8 hours. Your diet should consist of a balance of fat, protein and high fiber carbs. There are lots of recipes to get you started, but the Bacon, Avocado and Turkey Lettuce Wraps are especially delicious!

Great information on intermittent fasting, benefits, and drawbacks to this lifestyle. The recipes included are healthful and sound delicious! Can’t wait to try them.

Fasting

I'm hoping to lower my blood glucose levels with intermittent fasting. I would rather not take medication, so I'm hoping that changing my eating habits will do the trick. Book includes recipes for breaking fast.

Excellent!

I had no idea that fasting could be effective in weight loss! This book was phenomenal! It was very thourough in explaing how to fast and provided recipes to ensure that your body would get the nutrients needed. The stuffed peppers were amazing!

This book breaks down the different kinds of fasting there is and how it effects the body. There are also some great recipes.

Enlightening!

I've made several attempts at IF for weight loss with no results; this book helped me to understand why. While this will not be my last read on IF, I feel more sure footed as I start this lifestyle change to help me lose weight and gain control over my blood sugar.

Gives a new outlook on fasting

Was looking for a weight loss guide and stumbled on this. I was skeptical at first but if you fast the right ways, it can work wonders.
