Huxley Weiss, Hawaiian pineapple farmer and former military hottie, already saved my life once. When I left him at the airport months ago I only dreamed I’d see him again. The memories of us together are hot, but they’re nothing compared to what will happen when he comes to my rescue a second time.
With my ex on the loose and every bad guy from Vegas breaking down my door I’ll need Huxley to keep me safe and the bakery girls to keep me sane.
Will my cowboy hat wearing hunk take the biggest risk and save me or is our time together already finished?
Megan Matthews loves writing humorous romantic suspense featuring heroes with unbelievable abs, billionaire bosses, and heroines with attitude for days. She lives in Michigan with her techie husband, homeschooled son, their cat, and two guinea pigs.
When she’s not writing, you can find her on Instagram posting about reading, home life, half-dead plants, her ridiculous notebook and fancy pen collections, plus the occasional crochet project.
2.75 ⭐️. Spoilers I’m a bit annoyed at myself really that it took me this long to realise that the theme of this series is woman makes multiple decisions suggestive of being TSTL until she realises in her despair that her overly protective partner was right and she shouldn’t be trusted with her own life. I had excused these decisions for many reasons earlier in the series, including without realising that I was re-engineering backstories that didn’t actually exist until I ran out of excuses, much to my disappointment. I love the girl gang, the small town, I just don’t understand why the rescues, who doesn’t love a rescue, needed to consistently occur as a result of really stupid decisions. Winnie and Huxley

This was a good read. Winnie's ex has some bad people after him. They end up going after her too. In comes Hexley who she has a complicated relationship with. Luckily after all the drama with Archer is over they are able to have a happy ending.
This is the sixth book in this series. I have read previous books already. While I enjoy this author I have to admit that i struggled with this story. The story starts out with Winnie. While on vacation in Hawaii she is accidentally kidnapped two days before her trip is over. The kidnappers mistook her for someone else. She is happily rescued by who thinks is just a pineapple farmer; Huxley. He gives her a ride to the airport and gives her his number; saying call if you need help.
Winnie is back in her home town. Having left her life and lying Ex in Las Vegas she is trying to pick up the pieces of her life. Unfortunately, he Ex's bad actions end up dragging her into danger. Enter Huxley. She calls and before she can fully explain, he says I am on my way and catches the next flight out. Upon arrival, he vows to keep her safe. He explains that he is an ex Marine and has the tools to keep her safe. After that, the book is mostly about him shadowing her and trying to keep her safe.
I didn't connect with the main characters. I couldn't believe how stupid Winnie acted and Hexley never calls her on any of it. He just keeps following her around. The relationship didn't really develop either. They never talked to each other. Even though neither of them communicated with each other for the previous four months, it was I'm here to help, I missed you, sex and then declaring love for one another. It was about that fast in the book as well.
It is not a bad book. It is easy to read and follow along. I just wanted to like it more than I did.

This is book six in the Pelican Bay Security series. We’re back in Pelican Bay again woohoo! I was happy to see the whole crew again. I’ve really enjoyed reading this series. Who knew a small town in Maine could have some much drama and intrigue going on? The story is hot, funny and has a good amount of action in it. There’s never a dull moment in Pelican Bay. There is a short story of Huxley and Winnie’s first meeting. You can get it by joining the authors newsletter. You don’t have to read this short story to enjoy this book. This book reads as a standalone, but I think it’s more enjoyable to read the series in order.
Winnie is back in Pelican Bay. She moved away years ago but after finding out her ex is a criminal and being kidnapped in Hawaii, she decides that home is the best place for her to go. She hasn’t told her friends about why she broke up with her ex. She’s afraid of how they’ll react but seeing as she’s friends with Tabitha, Anessa and Katy who have attracted some serious bad trouble themselves she should have known better. When two guys show up at her place looking for her ex, she calls Huxley for help. He drops what he’s doing and leaves Hawaii for Maine. Winnie’s afraid to ask Huck if he’s going to stay. She keeps assuming he’s going to leave but Huck has a plan. Can their budding relationship survive all of Pelican Bay’s craziness?

Pelican Bay is definitely the place to go if you have trouble. The men are fiercely loyal, protective, possessive, and skilled at saving their chosen woman from chaos and danger. The women are snarky, feisty, welcoming, and understanding. And just a little bit on the crazy side! So, of course, this is the perfect place for Winnie to move after she discovers her ex-boyfriend is a small time criminal and then ends up kidnapped from the vacation she took to get away from said ex. Her rescuer, hot and passionate pineapple farmer Huxley. The former Marine is to whom Winnie turns again when trouble rears its head in the small town. Again! Fun and sexy, fast paced and filled with twist and turn, this an action packed rom com that is sure to grab your attention from the first word and keep you captivated until the end. Happy Reading!!

Another great read in the Pelican Bay security series.- Huxley and Winnie. After meeting by chance when Huxley rescues Winnie, they meet again when Winnie finds herself in more trouble. A really enjoyable, easy read book. I loved the connections between both Huxley and Winnie. The book was filled with suspense; will they stay together, will she go back to her ex, will the trouble she has been trying to avoid catch up with her, along with love and romance. I love how all the characters are still involved in each of the books. This book finished on a cliffhanger, I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

I am a fan of Megan Matthews, but Biggest Risk was not a favorite. It felt rushed. Winnie finds herself in trouble when someone looking for her EX accosts and threatens her. She then contacts Huxsley, who rushes to her aid. The story proceeds with them trying to find her Ex. The interactions between Winnie and Huxsley was sporadic at best. It seemed he did a lot of following her around, but little communication between the two. Even the first time they have sex was skipped over and barely rated a mention. I did like the two characters and the story, but it needed more details about their relationship and less about their friends.
A quick read starts as a rom-com and moves to edgy about 40%. Huxley is our hero who keeps saving Winnie. First in Hawaii and then again in Pelican Bay. For a small-town Pelican Bay has a lot of drama going on, testosterone in the way of former military and you have a bunch of unique characters! There are many subplots happening, but in the end, it just works. The humor is threaded all throughout, we also get some small-town crazy: with Pearl as the ringleader and head gossip, you should expect nothing less.
Thank you to Booksprout and the author for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another fun read in this series and once again we are in pelican Bay This is Winnie and Huxley's story By all accounts there is a short novel somewhere about there first meeting I haven't read it and I had no problem following this story
Huxley once again steps up to keep Winnie safe he rescued her in Hawaii when she first left her criminal ex but now she has returned home to Pelican bay Huxley has also come there as he is working with Pelican Bay Security. When danger once again threatens her because of her ex he will step up to keep her safe and in the process they start to realise that something is developing between them Can they have a future together You will. have to read to see
Huxley saved Winnie once in Hawaii, as she was trying to rid herself of her ex, a criminal she wants nothing to do with. Now in Maine, bad guys show up looking for said ex and she calls Huxley asking for help. Love this series and the Maine area that it is detailed in. The strong determined people of that town just added another to the mix and will stop at nothing to be nosy and help when the time is right. The suspense keeps the pages turning and the romance keeps it light hearted. The snark and banter through the book keeps a smile on your face. Can not wait for the next story in the series.

I have been reading this series out of order. While it hasn't hindered my enjoyment of the books, I really need to go back and start from the beginning. This story focuses on Winnie and Huxley. Winnie has returned to Pelican Bay after leaving her ex. When people come looking for said ex, Winnie calls Huxley for help. Overall this was a good read. It just seemed like the plot moved at a slower pace than some of the others in the series.

This book has Huxley and Winnie meeting a couple years ago at a airport and things got interesting. Willie has a boyfriend that was a criminal and left him. But people keep following her looking for him putting her in danger. She goes to Pelican Bay thinking it will be safe. She gets to know the bakery girls and she fits right in. Huxley is there working with Ridge and he’s on hand to help Winnie when she’s in danger! Another great book! Pp

This is book six in The Pelican Bay Security Series and it is Winnie and Huxley's story. I really like this series and enjoyed reading this book so much with all its twists and turns and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. Megan Matthews is a brilliant author and writer and I recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will not be disappointed. I voluntarily reviewed an Arc copy of this book.
Another great book that takes us back to Pelican Bay.. Winnie decided to leave her lboyfriend and tale a trip to Hawaii. While in Hawaii she has a case of mistaken identity and gets kidnapped.
Huxley, a pineapple farmer, almost runs into Winnie. Theu exchange numbers and he comes to her rescue. Once Winnie returns to her hometown of Pelican Bay more trouble finds her and she calls Huxley for help. Can these two find who is after Winnie and make their relationship work?
This book 6 in the Pelican Bay Security Series is a very well-written story that had interesting characters. These well-crafted characters are likable and realistic and have amazing chemistry. This is an interesting, action packed, intense romance story. A must read standalone story in a series of books. They get better with each one and this is one of my favorites

This is the story of Winnie and Huxley. Winnie has come home to Pelican Bay but the danger has followed her. When two men show up at her place looking for her ex, who is a criminal, she calls Huxley for help. He drops everything to get to her. Now that he’s with her, will he stay or go back to Hawaii? I enjoyed this exciting romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I give Huxley 4.5 big bright stars. He is determined and driven and oh so sexy. I love the way he and Winne act together. I love that he confesses to her. Of course visiting with Pelican Bay is always a fun filled ride of twists and turns and it would not be a Pelican Bay story without the action packed, mysterious suspense. Well done.

I struggled a bit with this one. So far I’m loving the series but Winnie was very stupid at times that she didn’t need to be. I tried to understand her point of view but honestly that made me feel she was even stupider.
As a whole the series so far is entertaining and fun, with mostly great characters and action. Sad I didn’t like this one more.
This is the 6th book in the Pelican Bay Security series and it can be read as a stand alone. Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting read. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

As always another great read about Pelican bay. Another female finds her self in trouble when she returns to Pelican bay. Lucily the man she met in Hawaii comes when she calls. Of course it all goes back to Archer and Vegas problems there. Never a dull moment in Pelican bay. Happy ending for them but there's a surprise occurence I can't wait to read a book on that.
I just love all the hot pelican bay security guys in this series and can't wait to read more books in the future. This is Huxley and Winnie's story where he saves Winnie from danger twice. I can't get enough of Megan Matthews books.

The author has taken us back to Pelican Bay so that we can spend some time with our friends and meet some new ones. The story pulls us into the lives of Huxley and Winnie and keeps us intrigued with suspense, danger and love throughout the entire story.

Six book in the series and I'm ready..... Biggest Risk is is hot, fun and has just the right amount of suspense to pull you into Winnie and Huxley's story. Pineapple farmer, mistaken Identity, kidnapped lead to to a story of love and intrigued.
Definitely a book to get lost in.

This was an easy read even with some danger thrown in at Winnie. I had a hard time connecting with her though and at times, with Huxley too. I didn't feel the chemistry as much and Winnie frustrated me to no end with her decisions. It is entertaining but not as good as the other books in the series.
A good addition to the Pelican Bay Security series and I loved being able to go back there and see what has been going on in the lives of the characters from previous books in the series! Huxley (Huck) and Winnie are wonderfully written characters and I enjoyed their story and how they get to their HEA!!

Winnie is in danger again and she needs Huxley. She meet Huxley in Hawaii where she was kidnapped. So it makes sense to call the man who last helped her and promised to again. As soon as Winnie called he ran to help the woman he misses.

Great reading. Would have known that a small town in Maine would have so much going on. With all those x military men there you would have though the criminals would stay away. Highly recommend reading.
I still love Pelican Bay despite all the craziness that happens in this small town! Another damsel in distress and another hunky protective male. Yum! Easy reading, sweet and funny.

Enjoyed the sixth book of the Pelican Security Series with Winnie and Huxsley. He has rescued her before in Hawaii and now he rescued her again from her ex. This is cute romance with some suspense and good characters.
