Jerricho didn’t expect his first solo mission to send him to the Middle East nor to rescue his journalist ex-wife and her cameraperson. Finding out why they and the other women had been taken was horrifying in itself, but saving a larger group than he’d first expected then complicates the rescue in a much bigger way.
Brenna had hopes that her ex would show up, as she knew the type of work he did. She’d always wanted a chance to show him how much she’d changed. This was hardly the ideal time, but she might not get a second chance.
Rescuing the women and taking out the kidnappers should have been the end of it, until they realize it’s not as simple as it first seems. The women were objects initially; now they’re targets …

An intense hunt for his ex-wife, Brenna, makes Jerricho believe this could be a lot bigger than the team originally thought. Brenna, a U.N. Journalist, and her cameraman, Jessie, are separated from their group and taken hostage and forced onto a derelict boat on their way to who knows where somewhere along the Middle Eastern coast.
Jerricho and his teammate, Killian, will do whatever it takes to find them and bring them home. How do you find a specific boat in the middle of the ocean, if it’s even in the middle of the ocean? Jerricho’s former partner on the last mission, Diesel, is the guys’ main contact with the Mavericks and is helping with the logistics, but Jerricho & Killian need to be hyper-vigilant of their surroundings when there are many armed pirates sailing near by.
Finding Brenna & Jessie among a group of other women being held captive definitely surprises the team. Getting them all out safely will be a huge challenge. During their time fleeing the armed captors, the group make their way to the shore to board a waiting boat while Jerricho and Brenna reconnect with the life stories they experienced since they were together. A bond starts to form between the two and forgiveness is equal. Some of her memories might be harsh for Brenna, but for Jerricho, time means they both grew up and circumstances and Brenna are different now.
This story has a lot of action, fear of the pirates finding them, and the suspense of sailing into unknown areas no knowing who waits for them. The twists and turns keep you guessing about who is behind the kidnapping and when that nugget is revealed, it’s quite a surprise! A great second-chance romance to round out the story!
TheThe Mavericks are a black ops secret government agency. Two ex-SEALs work together on missions with the Mavericks providing intel and anything else they may need. Diesel is notified that Jericho’s ex-wife Brenna is missing, he offers Jericho the opportunity to rescue her which he accepts. Jericho and Killian are working together on the mission with Diesel providing all the support that they need. They discover that Brenna is a journalist on assignment when she was kidnapped along with her cameraperson Jessie. Through the mavericks, Jericho and Killian track Brenna and Jessie from one ship to another. As they follow their trail, they find out that the women are scheduled to be auctioned soon. Jericho and Killian need to rescue the women now. After rescuing all the women that were to be auctioned, it seems like the story was over and it was only chapter 4. I really liked that the action starts up again. First there are pirates to contend with, then Brenda is kidnapped again, and there is the case of the stolen American intelligence. Like the other books in the series, it cannot end without finding love or in this case rekindling love. This is another great book in the Maverick series.

Jericho Hickory had completed a successful mission with Denzil Edwards for the Mavericks. The Mavericks are a black opps organization made up of highly trained military personnel, but who preferred to work without the constraints of the military. Jericho hadn't even had time to do his laundry before he got a call for his next mission, it was his turn to lead, his partner was to be Killian Nordstrum , he had worked well with Killian on several missions when they had both been navy SEALS, Denzil was to be their contact. This mission was personal, the missing person was Jericho's ex wife Brenna, as much as he had loved Jenna he couldn't live with her. Brenna came from a wealthy family who had spoilt her, she was a stuck up, judgemental bitch.....but there had been good times and Jericho would find her. Brenna a journalist, along with her cameraperson Jessie, was following a story in Libya when their disappearance had been reported. Where were the girls ?Why had they disappeared ? Jericho and Killian's intel led them to a boat which turned out to be empty, Jericho had a shock when he saw a note with his name on it, the handwriting was Brenna's.....they were on the right track. Brenna had come to realise what an insufferable bitch she had been and had made a concerted effort to change. This story follows the perilous journey to rescue the women, the horror involved and deaths along the way, the unexpected twists but most of all the rekindling of the love between Brenna and Jericho. Another fantastic story in the brilliant Maverick series.

Jerricho has barely settled on his deck with a beer when Diesel calls him with his mission. Apparently his journalist ex-wife, Brenna and her cameraperson have gone missing in a part of the world where a disappearance usually isn't very good. His partner on this assignment is Killian, and with the data they are getting from the Mavericks they are chasing camera sightings.
Brenna and Jessie are being shuttled from place to place on boats, she's also been leaving notes where she can. When they reach their final destination they are placed in a paddock with other women. Women from all over the world some crying, some beaten, others just huddled together. One woman brave enough to speak tells Brenna there were more women coming and they were all being sold. Now more than ever, Brenna hopes Jerricho or some SEALs show up to rescue them.
Jerricho is surprised and a bit dismayed when he finds one of Brenna's note, it simply had his name and an old phone number of his. They also manage to get some additional information that has them needing to find the women quickly. There's also the problem that there will be more than just two women, and they couldn't in good conscience leave any of them.
Things are not going to be simple and it takes quite a while to get the women to relative safety.
In the process Jerricho and Brenna get to know one another again. Brenna has changed a lot since they were together, an awakening of sorts. Of course Jerricho is a bit clueless that he's falling for his ex and Killian is more than a little amused by that.
Full of suspense, intrigue, action and a touch of sizzle. I couldn't put this book down!
Mavericks member Jerricho was surprised when his first solo mission was to the Middle East to rescue his ex-wife who was working as a journalist there together with her cameraman. Finding out how and why they and other women were taken is horrifying enough but it also complicates the rescue as it is not just two people now. Brenna has a hope that her ex-husband will turn up as she knows the type of work he does makes him a good candidate plus she has wanted for a long time to show him how much she has changed since they were together - yes it's not a great time but it might be the only chance she has. Rescuing the women and taking out the kidnappers should have been the end of it until they realize it’s not as simple as it first seems. The women were objects initially; now they’re targets. Can Jerricho get to the bottom of it all?
This was action-packed and full of twists and turns. I loved the way that things were tentative and uncertain at first as Brenna did more work on her changes and accepted that Jerricho could see her for what she was now which was a well rounded normal person. I loved the way that the underlying love between them was easy to adapt to the way they were now. Easy to read and understand, this was definitely a rollercoaster ride which you just had to hang on and read faster in order to know what was going to happen next. Contains just a little sexual content at the end.

If you like action-packed, page-turners, “The Mavericks” series by Dale Mayer is the series for you! Every time I think the series cannot get any more exciting or any more electrifying, I am amazed when the next book surpasses the last! This is especially true of Jerricho’s story!
This story is incredibly fast-moving, riveting and, off-the-chart, suspenseful. Ms. Mayer creates a plot with many twists and turns and lots of surprises that continue until the very last chapter.
The main characters are strong, independent and fascinating. Jerricho is a former SEAL who now works with The Mavericks organization. Brenna is a journalist who, when the story begins, has been kidnapped while working overseas. Her situation is terrifying and dangerous. Jerricho is sent to rescue her, her photographer and the other kidnapped women before it is too late.
Brenna is an imperfect character who worked very hard to alter her personality. When the readers meet Brenna, she is a completely changed person who has devoted her life to atoning for her mistakes. She devotes her life to informing the American government about problems around the world.
I like Brenna because she is definitely not your typical heroine who is naturally good-natured.
Can be read as a stand alone. Jerricho is off to the middle east for his solo mission with the black ops team Maverick. Killian is his back up - partner. His ex wife, Brenna (reporter) and camera person are missing. This had a slightly different spin on Brenna, she came from a rich house hold and was extremely selfish and immature - hence the break up. All Jerrichos buddies told him he was better off. He does his job and heads middle east to find her. In the midst of the terror (human trafficking) smugglers and the trek he finds she has changed, she has grown up. Can he believe that? Can she believe in herself? Their relationship expounds and grows in such a realistic way. In the midst of this there are twists a few surprises and we get to meet our M16 guy again. I wonder if he get a story down the line. As always Dales books have a serious thread that its touched on, dealt with lightly as she gently shines a light on some of the horrors in the world. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
Jerricho by Dale Mayer The Mavericks Series Book Fourteen Jerricho Dante is sent out on a mission, along with Killian. The mission was a little personal. His ex-wife, who he hadn't been in contact since their divorce, has gone missing overseas. Even if they didn't survive marriage at such a young age...it wouldn't stop him from finding her. That was who he was, a man who would help those who needed it.
Brenna had changed a lot. She had married young, divorced young. And then, when she was going to marry again...it turned ugly. She had to face who she was and make a change in her life. A big change. Working as a journalist, she traveled the world, never expecting to be kidnapped. And only one person came to mind who would be able to find her and rescue her. The man from the long ago past. Jerricho. But, would he even want to try?
Fast-paced story that takes some unusual twists and turns before it slows down enough for this couple to stop and realize they still cared for each other. **Sexual content https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Jerricho heads out towards Africa to rescue his journalist ex-wife Brenna and her camera operator Jessie. Jerricho and Brenna married and divorced when they were very young and he hasn't seen her since. Knowing that Jerricho is a SEAL, Brenna is hoping that he will find and rescue them. When more kidnapped women join them, Brenna knows that she faces the possibility of a horrifying future. Regretting her past attitude and behavior, Brenna also wants to show Jerricho that she has changed. Jerrich knows getting the women away from the kidnappers doesn't get them out of danger. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a very suspenseful book. I enjoy reading how the women are found and rescued. I also love how this mission gives Jerricho and Brenna a second chance. What I enjoyed most about this book is there was an unexpected twist near the end.
I always love it when an ex reappears for these guys as it becomes a will I like them or loath them scenario and I was glad this time around I really loved Brenna but felt gutted for how much self loathing she had for how she was when she was young and knew no different. Now her past is once again front and center as her ex Jericho is assigned to her rescue mission and a good thing too as not everything is at it seems with the others they rescue. The way Jericho sees what happened with their past and how he is happy for who she is now was great and got Brenna to really accept she is not all to blame for how she was and it's time to move on, however there seems to be danger at every turn which doesn't add up for why she and co worker Jessie were kidnapped. This has me guessing on what was really going on and was not expecting what we find out as was so not expecting that!!

Sure he still cared about his ex-wife but why was he in the Middle East trying to find out what happened to her? Brenna was kidnapped along with her cameraman Jesse. No ransom, no one knows why. Jerricho is trying to find them and a lot more than expected causing even more concern and adding even more questions than answers. Where did all these women come from? Why were they herded into corrals? The answers are not what anyone wants to hear and of course, Brenna is not leaving without saving them all. The logistics are mind-boggling but the Mavericks can overcome just about anything at any time. However, there is more and for the life of me I cannot come up with a way of saying it without spoilers. Suffice it to say that Dale Mayer's books are full of intrigue, suspense, and drama. You will never be bored by a Dale Mayer book.

I can't believe this is book #14 in the Maverick series! Believe me it is still going strong with Jerricho off to the Middle East to rescue his ex-wife and her cameraman. As two turn into more the intrigue heightens! Brenna (Jerricho's ex) has matured over the years and has become a much wiser, less self centered woman than the one Jerricho married which is a nice surprise. The escape was difficult and the rescue ship even more so. Mystery involved as well making this book difficult to put down. I really enjoyed this story, the dedication, integrity and honor. These are things I'll never tire of. The epilogue talks of Killian's adventure to save a kidnap victim and I'm looking forward to this new book too!
Jerricho is sent on a mission to rescue Brenna, who happens to be his ex-wife. Killian is sent along to assist. Brenna is a journalist and has been kidnapped along with her photographer Jessa and they are being taken to a human auction along with 38 other women. while being held in a corral like cattle Jerrico and Killian get all the women out, kill the kidnappers and transport the women down the river and out to the ocean and onto a ship waiting for them. however the ship had been taken over by pirates that have tobe taken down. The mission continues on even into England. There is a surprise near the end that readers will enjoy.

When Brenna is kidnapped, her ex Jerricho who is now part of the Mavericks gets the assignment. He hasn’t seen Brenna in years and the last he heard she was getting married but that doesn’t stop him from trying to find and rescue her. Brenna had a lot of growing up to do and in the years since she last saw Jerricho, she has emotionally and mentally matured, turning her life around. She’s now a journalist who has been kidnapped with her photographer and the two women have stay alive for Jerricho to find them....before it’s too late. Another good read in the Mavericks series, second chances, no drama, a bit of steam, suspense, some twists and turns and great characters. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
A light suspense read mixed with second chance romance with lots of action. Not my fav though, because it felt rushed from scene to scene, the mystery still got me confused and I found it unbelievable and the romance part is sweet and adorable but I felt sometimes it was misplaced, but loveeee love love the actions, especially the rescue of the kidnapping victims, really got me on the edge of my seat with danger in every corner. Loveeee the characters too, Jericho and Killian are amazing teammate, the team work always superb and love the story how Breanna changed to be a better person. So overall it's an enjoyable entertaining read for me.
If you're looking for a fast-paced light suspense romance, try this one.
Jerricho is going on his mission as the lead and Killian will be with him. The mission is to locate and rescue a UN reporter and her cameraperson. The UN report is Jerricho's ex-wife, Brenna. The last Jerricho heard she was getting married again. Brenna is single, the marriage did not happen and due to a hurtful experience Brenna decided she needed to change her attitude and her life. Brenna is hoping that Jerricho will rescue her since he was former military and has the skills to save her and her cameraperson. There are a lot of twists and turn to this story and it had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I love this story as well as the series. This is a must read.
This suspense filled thriller with romance to will keep you on the edge of your seats. The characters will captivate you. Herrick just got back from helping Diesel on a successful mission where Diesel met Eva an feel in love. Now he's home with a beer an unwinding when his phone rings Jericho asks miss me already an catch any fish this morning.Diesel says pack your bag you've got a mission your lead this time .He tells Herrick your ex wife has been kidnapped.Herrick starts packing his bag right away. They may not have worked out when married but he will always love her. This story has danger, suspense, and second chances.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.
Although Jerricho’s marriage to his ex-wife Brenna didn’t end well he doesn’t wish her any harm so when he finds out his next assignment is rescuing her after she was abducted he is determined to bring her home safe.
Brenna regrets the events that resulted in the divorce, but that woman has evolved into a better version of herself who is focused on others and not herself. When she finds herself in a dire situation she hopes that Jerricho will be able to find her before her fate is sealed and will this be their new beginning or the end?
Surprises, steam and the right time for two people who have always loved each other.
I love the Mavericks, a covert black ops team, written by one of my favorite authors, Dale Mayer and "Jerricho" checked all the boxes for a great military romantic adventure with great characters and a story filled with twists and turns that immediately grabbed my attention and kept me totally involved in all that was happening until I read the last word. I loved the undeniable chemistry and second-chance romance between Jerricho and his ex-wife Brenna when he and Killian go on a mission to the Middle East to rescue her and her cameraperson who have been kidnapped. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
The author has given us a fantastic story that pulls us into the lives of Jerricho and Brenna and does not let go. A entertaining read with interesting characters, drama and suspenseful action that will have you glued to the pages right to the last word. The story keeps you turning the pages with action, danger and suspense with just the right amount of swoony, and steamy romance. Which is perfect for this story. I just can’t get enough of this author and her books. I don’t think I’ve ever not loved her books. Keep them coming. I always look forward to reading them when they come out. Happy reading everyone!!
Former Navy Seals are part of an elite organization that doesn't have restrictions like the Navy. They do the same thing but have more leeway to get the job done. Two-man teams get an assignment to rescue victims. Each story lead finds romance/partner.
Interesting story. The stories are more authentic when using their skills to rescue victims. Even when it is your ex-wife.
The men all sound the same, with the same values in life, who want justice for the victims and to make the world a better place to live. There will always be evil people in the world. Their jobs will never end in the fight against evil.
A mission to save his ex wife proves to be a twisted journey and not all as expected. Far more is going on and can certain people be trusted. Lots of suspense and some action, a woman who has worked hard to change her life and behaviour, Jerrico and Killian had their hands full, in fact overflowing at some points. Strong and likeable characters, a plot that is interesting and exciting, sucking me in as a reader and holding me hostage till the mission is solved successfully. And another hero bites the dust, Killian is up next. Started 2/6/21 Finished 3/6/21
Another adventure for 'The Mavericks' this time with Jerricho at the helm and Killian as his trustyside kick. They set off to rescue a journalist and her cameraman who have disappeared whilst on assignment. It transpires that the journalist is Jerricho's ex wife and the camera man is in fact a female. The story explodes as they search for the woman only to find alot more than they bargained for. There is a few twists and turns along the way making it a very enjoyable read.

Brenna and her cameraman were sent overseas for a story. However, somehow they were separated from the other journalists and kidnapped by traffickers. Enter the Mavericks via Jerricho, who used to be married to her, to rescue them. The rescue isn't easy and includes some twists before all the women are on their way home. But the question remains as to why Brenna was taken. Was she targeted? If so, who was behind it? And as Brenna and Jerricho talk, they see the changes in each other and get drawn together.
Jerricho doesn't hesitate to go in and rescue his ex wife, but the Brenna he rescues is not the Brenna he divorced. In a dangerous world of deceit and double crossing Jerricho fights to keep Brenna alive...but will he also fight for a second chance with his first love. Older, wiser and more self aware Brenna knows she did Jerricho wrong when they were married, seeing her struggle to forgive herself shows just how much she has grown and matured. But the older, more improved Jerricho calls to her soul, she just needs to survive so she can claim him once again.
This is a great series! The books can be read as stand alone or in the series order. Jericho is sent on a mission to find 2 missing women associated with the media in the U.S. One of the missing is an ex-wife and isn't too excited about it being her he has to rescue. Ad he and Killian start their rescue trip they find way more trouble than they anticipated and just when they think they have completed the mission, they're caught up in it again. Fast paced with twists you won't see coming.
Another great episode of the Mavericks. Journalist Brenna and her photographer Jessie have been kidnapped and are going to be auctioned. Jerricho and his partner Killian have been dispatched to rescue them as well as the other women being held with them. They manage to rescue them all but there are many complications which muddy the relationships between Jerricho and his ex-wife Brenna as well as the kidnapped women. Lots of action and suspense as well as a sprinkling of romance. Good book as always from Ms Mayer.
Jerricho is on a mission to save his ex-wife, who is now a reporter and went missing in the middle east. Killian is his backup for the mission, which is much more than the two anticipate. Brenna and her camera woman, Jessie, have been kidnapped and are to be auctioned as part of a sex-slavery ring, but all is not as it appears. Can Jerricho rescue Brenna and the others before it's too late? Can they re-connect after everything that's happened? Read and find out!
I don't think I've been disappointed with any books in all the series I've read from this author. This one captured my attention from the beginning. Jerricho's mission involves finding his ex wife, a journalist in the middle east. Was she kidnapped or worse? It would seem many women were taken, finding them is one thing but rescuing another. There's enough action and suspense in this story to keep you on the edge of your seat. Great storyline and wonderful characters, I loved every minute.
Jericho has been tasked with finding Brenna, his exwife, who is a journalist on a story in North Africa when she and her photographer, Jessie, go missing. Lots of twists and turns in this intriguing story. Near the end when things look as though everything is covered you will be surprised.
As usual an excellent read from Dale Mayer!
