In an increasingly modern world where we are highly dependent on technology and our attention spans and patience are on an all time low level, what we seek is mindfulness.
Though the concept is alluring yet we find it difficult to practice and inculcate it in our daily lives. This book however can do away with this difficulty as it contains daily practices for leading a mindful life. It contains a variety of exercises and is very practical. It contains various meditations, affirmations and also some quotes which can help you instill mindfulness in your daily life.
I have read a lot of self help books but this one scores high on the practical front as it is super easy to apply in our daily life and it is to the point. If you want to be more mindful, calm and productive, this book can really help you. It's definitely a good one!
This book is a collection of 365 quotes, mantras, meditation type, self-help activities and exercises. Throughout the book, you’ll encounter a variety of meditations, exercises, and mantras that speak to developing and growing from a mindfulness practice.
The book is a self-guide and is a great tool for taking great care of yourself, advancing yourself psychologically and establishing a greater sense of well-being.
The author has talked about everything important in life- health, hope, self-love, kindness, motivation, love, happiness. The writing style is so intriguing and everything is written perfectly. The book is like a calendar and for every day there is an activity or a quote. This is a book that will stay in your library forever.
Some of the instances that I loved from this book- 🌻When our days become dreary with low- hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that can make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows. 🌻If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I would spend the first four hours sharpening the axe. 🌻“I seek and strive for progress in my life. I do not need or expect perfection.” 🌻Reflect on your habits, decisions, and behaviours. Practice asking yourself, “Does this support the life I am trying to create?
Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you’re sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgement. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress. It’s an act where people focus only what they are doing or concentrate only what they are thinking respective of the surroundings who there are, what they are doing and so on. Suppose, if we are eating then we must concentrate on the flavour of food, temperature, aroma, taste and ho it is made but not on the people sitting with us to dine in or the smartphone we are carrying with us or the television that is showing any program. This is what mindfulness is. Here, I am going to write about the book which is recently discovered and is quite useful as well as worth reading. ‘Daily Mindfulness: 365 Exercises to Deepen’ by ‘Benjamin W. Decker’ is a book which put emphasis on the topic mindfulness and lay us to the importance of it as well as the techniques that we must follow to be one individual with mindful concentration on what we are do or what we speak. I guess title of the book is sufficient to give an idea to the readers that what it is about. The ‘365 Exercises’ which is mentioned in the title gives an idea that author has given 365 techniques to be mindful each for each day for 365 days. One quoting from book to have a glimpse: - ‘January 10th: - Envision an invisible field of energy connecting everyone and everything together. As we breathe, we draw upon the same life force energy that all other beings draw upon.’ In the introduction of the book author has mentioned that how her mother has taught him to be mindful and now he wants to share the experience as well as the way for his readers and peoples to be the one. I appreciate author’s work that he has written this work which is great asset for the people if they follow and practice the ways for each different day i.e., mentioned which makes it interesting to follow. One must definitely read and follow the same.
Affirmation for Resilience – The only constant is change – I am naturally very resilient.’ The above line is taken from ‘Daily Mindfulness’ by ‘Benjamin W. Decker’ which is a self help book and is quite helpful for the individuals those who does not stay calm and composed. What does this word ‘mindfulness’ mean? It is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique. In today’s modern era where we are using 5G and 4G networks, groceries and edibles are delivered to our home in a tip of app or a call, can book a cab or bike and visit to the place, can book an appointment while residing in home. There are various things like this which we can do while sitting idle in a certain place which hampers our physical movement. Thus, it is not wrong in saying that these techs are making us lazy and sick.
There is a saying that ‘Necessity is the mother of Invention’ but I think what we are having now days we don’t need at all for our daily actions. In coming days, these generation will be more equipped with highly developed techs and will lead to less mental peace. Here author comes with 365 systematic meditation ways for mind and body. It has mind exercises for each day of the year. Sounds strange! Isn’t it? We are aware of physical exercise where we train our body but what about mind, there are very fewer exercises that we know. In this book author ha focused on the exercise which involves our mind. If one goes through the book, he/she will find that the technique about which author has mentioned to practice will take only 5-6 minutes daily and one can fill refreshing after completing the session.
Though, it’s a long book but when one starts reading, they will not find it as only the techniques are mentioned with simple and lucid language style. Recommended to all and at least try the techniques and see the effect.
"Daily Mindfulness : 365 Exercises to Deepen Your Practice and Find Peace" written by Benjamin W. Decker is like a daily guide which consists of various kinds of exercises starting from January to December. The exercises are small and help in enhancing one's concentration, focus and overall performance. The author says in the beginning that his parents taught him and his brothers about mindfulness when they were growing up. They called it 'reverence' which they practised on a daily basis by folding their arms, sitting quietly and listening. Practicing reverence in childhood led the author to commit his life to the practice and study of mindfulness. He wrote his first book 'Practical Meditation for Beginners' after having years of hands-on experience with students and with committed practice. Establishing a daily mindfulness practice is a powerful decision. Even 5 minutes a day of meditation for a whole year has incredible effects. This book is like a calendar from 1 January to 31 December and consists of mindfulness exercises, meditations, affirmations and inspirational quotes. Open the page according to the date and dive into a relaxing and rewarding mindfulness exercise. I felt so calm and composed after reading this book. It's not just a book, it's like a guide to me. I start my day by doing the exercises mentioned in that particular date. I am grateful to have recieved this book. I always wanted to include meditation in my schedule. Now, it fits perfectly in my schedule. If you also feel like meditating on a regular basis, then do not miss out on this one.
This is an excellent self help book for beginners, It shares a lot of quotes, mantras, meditation techniques and definitely much much more for one to become calm and more mindful in life.
I am a lover of self help books however, some books do kind of get a bit boring. This one was just the opposite, Why this book was so interesting as the Author has divided the books into a calender and he gives a technique to do everyday, some days it's just an inspirational quote, some days they are meditation techniques some days they are life lessons. So it doesn't have to be read at one go. Depends on the reader, if they want to read it in one day or one year. Depends if one wants to read it from the end, beginning or middle.
It's a book of 273 pages and every page is as beautiful and lovely as the next. Today's quote is (March 5th) - With open eyes practice walking as a meditation. It then tells you how to do it. One doesn't have to get it right in the first try. Practice is the key. The authors mother has taught him and his brothers how to be mindful, that has helped the author and he wants others to be aware of it, Do read the introduction as one gets the idea behind this book from reading that
If one is able to read and practice the writings of the author, I am quite certain the mind will be more relaxed and one will give a better output in one's life.
The language are so simple that anyone can read it.
Each celestial body, in fact each and every atom, produces a particular sound on account of its movement, its rhythm or vibration. All these sounds and vibrations form a universal harmony in which each element, while having its own function and character, contributes to the whole. —Pythagoras #quote from the book.
This is a unique self help book of 365 systematic meditation ways for the mind and body. It has mind exercises and self affirmations for each day of the year.
I saw this as a mind journal which will diversify and expand the radius of our thinking. It will help in improving the alertness of the mind, questioning the reason for our inner turmoil. Also there is a way of interpretation of our dreams and visions which I found quite interesting.
These steps have a yogic pattern where it focuses on breathing to release stress and awareness of the surrounding as well as within, which helps in development of a bond between the body and the mind.
Everyday few minutes of these mindful exercises with the help of meditation and self affirmations can improve mental health, which in turn can improve physical, emotional, psychology health.
This absolutely subtle, practicable guide to mindfulness by the author who is a meditation teacher himself, is a must read for people of all age groups and all walks of life.

The book is divided into 12 chapters- each named after the months of a year. And in each chapter, we can find the number of chapters as the same number of days and a different exercise for each of them. Yes,we all were irritated to sit and home and follow the new normal initially, but later we got used to it though we don’t like. Through this book one can attain peace and happy life following very easy steps.
The approach of the book is effective. The author has penned motivational and meditation techniques according to the days. The concept starts from January 1 and ends by December 31 that completes the 365 days. The book educates on how meditation helps in attaining goals and leading a peaceful life. Not all fitness freaks practice meditation, but inculcating it is really hard. Once it’s practiced, its advantages are really more. The book is written in a brief manner, the explanations are practical and isn’t a boring theory.
This book is very informative and educative. A unique book covering most important aspect essential for present life. In my opinion, I feel this is one must read book in order to have better and peaceful life.
This book is a soulful experience of the inner journey accomplished by the author and with this book, he wishes to take the learnings to every reader in a way so eternal and so philosophical with the moment of awareness and self realisation. The book cannot be accounted for a self help genre, rather it's a different take on self awakening.
It is about finding your voice in silence, letting your expressions get channelized through words that are meant to be felt and imbibed, and not just read. The book creates an aura of healing space for the readers to let them delve into the infinite divinity and dive through rivers of self exploration.
All the aspects of sustainability, emotional, physical and mental - all these energies as transformative, the book brings about the knowledge and wisdom of the author to let people know a certain truth which can only be found when one learns to govern his own psyche.

My Perspective: This is a book you need to read if you want to get out of the happy-reading bubble. This is a genre I wanted to try for a long and it was quite unique and interesting. I especially liked the way the author emphasized emotions while narrating this.
About the Book: This book has a beautiful cover in my favorite color purple, with a shaded sky and bridge with a man in a red hoodie.
About the Story: The book is divided into 4 short stories- Ashtami, pandemic, fault lines, and the chronicler of the Hooghly. These stories have different emotions to share such as sadness, greed, anger, etc. These stories have something in each which defines a specific purpose. A curse of a fabled pearl, societal conditions, and development, Challenges of migration, face-to-face encounters with past demons are some areas focused on in this book.
About the Author: The author of this book is an engineer by profession, graduate, and coach. He loves to explore relationships within emergent situations.
I still remember when government imposed lockdown last year and it continues for more than half year. It wasn't that easy to sit in your home whole day and you weren't permitted to go outside. That time somewhere i lost peace of my mind. I felt meditation was the best way to calmer my mind but i didn't know how to do. I regret why didn't i get this book that time.
Daily Mindfulness is very unique self help book i have ever came across. There are 365 meditation techniques given in this book tiltle by days ie.. 1 January, 2 January etc.
Mindfulness is the total awareness of all our senses. Meditation is the best way to reach this stage.
These exercises are best way to start our day and it won't take longer than 5-10 minutes.
Writing is simple and lucid. There are also many quotes written in this book and i feel "a book is incomplete without quotes"
It's worth reading. I highly recommend this book everyone who is feeling low.
“I am capable of cultivating calmness and peace even in the face of challenges great and small.”
This book is one of the best self help books available. I was very astonished by seeing it's unique and different concept unlike other self help books. It has 365 exercises and positive affirmations for each and every day of the year. I have personally tried the exercises which was very calming. Positive affirmations are really motivating and impactful on the reader , one such affirmation is mentioned above. It is not tuff to follow the exercises on daily basis, they're very easy to do. The use of language and procedure of doing the exercises is clear and easy which makes this book comfortable to read and understand. Kudos to the author for thinking of 365 ways to calm a complex human mind, and i think it would have been tuff to think of so many ways and these should affect a larger crowd. Everyone of us needs some Daily mindfulness, everyone of us needs self help and this an effective way to do so. I would recommend it to everyone irrespective of age group.
"When our days become dreary with low hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows... " I have read so many books on this genre, but I must say that this is really unique. The best part is that all things are explained in a simple manner. The way the author explained all the things step by step, the techniques of meditation and all the things in simple language is just awesome! The practical approach of the book made this one more prominent. I really loved the quotes from this book, they are really inspiring! The daily exercises that mentioned in the book is really helpful. The cover is simply and beautiful. The language is simple yet lucid. Overall, a good one!
In an increasingly modern world where we are highly dependent on technology and our attention spans and patience are on an all time low level, what we seek is mindfulness. This book isn't just 365 meditations -- the meditations are labeled by dates. So you turn to the date, read and meditate. Some are actual meditations with body scans. Others are meditations you can carry throughout the day, such as focusing on finding the positive in others. I've used these as a morning meditation that I carry with me. That's when the app works better because if I'm trying to do something throughout the day, the reminders that a meditation app send throughout the day are really helpful in re-centering me. With a book, I often forget the focus early on as the day gets busy. But that's on me to notice and grow into. If you've never meditated before, I'm not sure this book gives enough to get you up and running in a committed way

In today's busy life we have so many distractions which do not let us focus on the task at hand. Mindfulness has proven to be the solution to this problem. Mindfulness is based on increasing our awareness of the present by acknowledging it through our senses.
The author has given us 365 mindfulness exercises in this book. One exercise per day. On some days there is no exercise just a quote or a short paragraph.
The book contains a combination of affirmations, meditations, quotes, exercises, introspection, and some things that I did not understand like the exercise about talking to water.
I feel some of these things like affirmations, meditations, and a few exercises should be done daily because doing it once a year is not going to be helpful.
Many activities are for personality development and would also be helpful in developing self-confidence.
This book is recommended to those who enjoy self-help books.
