A.C. Wilds’ Currents is a tortured, sexy, rollercoaster of a contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heros Worlds project.

Two souls seeped in pain.

Carson Stagg is running from the loss of his brother. His entire world changed the day they killed Eli. Confused and afraid, he stumbles upon Bordentown, a small town on the southern coast of California. There he makes a life for himself, that is unlike the one he was born into. He finds contentment in becoming a lifeguard, but he’s never happy.

Bliss Meyers is a socialite. The picture perfect rich girl who parties too hard and can make anyone believe she’s a fiery mess. But she doesn’t care. Her heart is destroyed, and she’d gladly watch the world burn. Tilly was her best friend, the one she lived for, and they took it all away from her. She’s determined to let life drift by until she’s caught in a net of truth.

The wedding of Bliss’ brother brings her to Bordentown, the last place she wants to be. Her demons still haunt her, and there’s no escape from her family. She faces a week of torture and finds her salvation in a man whose laughter is the perfect distraction, but he’s not the one she’s drawn to. His roommate entrances her with one look and brings feelings she didn’t think she’d experience again. There’s just one problem — he hates her.

With the twirling passion between Carson and Bliss, the temptation to fall for her grows by the day. Carson vowed he’d never return to that life, one of pain and money. His old ways are behind him. He can’t risk becoming that person again, one with no thought for anything beyond his wealth.

Can Carson resist the pull of love? Can Bliss forgive herself enough to let herself fall?

Carson has endured a tragic loss that he believes was preventable, so he has left his previous life in the past. He is trying to keep a low profile and doesn’t allow many people close but when he meets Bliss, he not only recognizes her but can sense that she is a kindred soul.

Bliss has a painful past of her own that she is trying to numb with self-destructive behavior. Having to spend time with her family for her brother’s wedding sends her in a downward spiral.

Carson and Bliss share an emotional connection that goes far beyond the physical as they realize that together they can face anything and that includes their pasts.

This is a new author to me, and I was not sure what to expect, but I will certainly be looking out for this author in the future. This is Carson and Bliss’ story, and what an emotional roller coaster it is. Both characters are broken and haunted by their pasts. Carson is content with his job as a lifesaver who is drifting through life after the loss of his brother, and Bliss is a wealthy socialite who parties hard and she had lost her best friend Tilly. When Bliss reluctantly goes back to her hometown for her brother’s wedding she is drawn towards Carson. Can these broken souls heal each other and move on in life? This is a good story which is emotional, and has drama, which all leads to an intriguing read. I recommend for all.

Carson is running from a tragic past which lands him in Bordentown so he decides to settle there under the radar. Bliss has a tragedy in her past, and while she's not running so much as leaving destruction in her, she's drowning in her soul.  She has to go home to Bordentown for her brother's wedding, so this is when she comes across Carson, and the chemistry is off the charts.  They're trying to ignore it, as Carson doesn't want his old life back & that's what Bliss represents to him.  There's so much emotion in this story that I felt it like it was my own while these two danced around each other, and their painful pasts.  Will these two be able to leave their painful pasts in the past for a new future?!  Hit those one click buttons to find out!  HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

“Fuck. She ghosted me.”
Before this there was a scene where the two MCs spent the night together. He left Before she woke up and didn't leave a note or contact her at all the next day. It's never addressed why, so this scene made me laugh because as far as I'm concerned, tit for tat dude. If it wasn't for his roommate asking him to be at the wedding in his place would the MMC have even contacted her?

I'm a fan of epilogues because I like seeing their future. This book just ends with them kissing after she says she'll marry him. It was anticlimactic basically. But whatever. Repetitive but a sweet short read

Carson and Bliss are products of a screwed up past and both are looking for stability in life. What they get is love with one another. When they meet the connection is strong and exciting. No matter how hard they fight it, it continues to grow. running from their pasts and trying to find some sort of contentment.

This is the first book that I have read from A.C. Wilds and I did enjoy it! I believe that she is more of a paranormal genre writer which isn't usually my "thing" but this book made me want to read more of what she has out there and has to offer.
I enjoyed the suspense that was there until the end when everything came together and I got to the complete "ah-ha moment". I wouldn't say it was complete angsty but it was right there and it definitely kept me engaged.

This is not an easy love story as both Carson and Bliss are running from their pasts and trying to find some sort of contentment. Meeting each other seems like fate and they can't fight the pull. I loved their chemistry even when they tried to deny it. The story is emotional and tense in some parts but it sucked me in and I couldn't help but to continue reading until the very end.

This is one, not like most of her works, but it is amazing. Let her take you and shake you with this one. Be ready to get watery eyes, don't worry, not the whole book will make you watery. Look do yourself a favor and read this one. You have actions, drama, lies, and steam. This is a fast read, so grab, get comfy, and get ready to say wow what happens next.

Carson ad Bliss seemed meant to be. Both had painful pasts they are trying to get over when they met. Will they both be what the other needs to get past their history and find their happiness?
