After the cliffhanger of book 1 - Entrance, Enlighten - Book 2 of Thornhill trilogy takes the reader back into the glamorous world of Aidan Thornhill and Clarissa Moone, where secrets are revealed, but can their insatiable love continue?
"I’d never tasted so many tears. My pillow was saturated with misery. Aidan was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen. He was also the only man I’d ever been with. He was the catch of the century. Or, so my best friend told me. I had to agree. But it was his past, buried in nightmares, that Aidan couldn’t speak of. Then there were the women. His haughty ex, in particular, hell-bent on winning him back. Her icy green eyes laughed at me as I fell to the floor after she revealed an ugly truth, that I soon discovered was an ugly lie. As we drove back to paradise, blood coursed through me. My soul awakened. No more a shriveled ball, my heart expanded. A sigh of hope left my lips when the car ascended that steep hill back to Aidan Thornhill’s beguiling estate."

Chapter 2 in this series, of Aidan Thornhill & Clarissa Moone, love story, has Just as much drama. suspense as the first one. The one good thing is that Aiden comes clean with his secrets. Clarissa is willing to except his demons. I enjoy that Aiden realizes what real love can do to a persons heart & soul. I do feel Aiden's characters get a bit to possessive of Clarissa; But considering his enemies it makes sense. Aiden doesn't want to lose the only solid, real aspect of his life. As to Clarissa, I feel at times they make her quite naïve. Her jealous so easily when it comes to the fake EX. Though, she doesn't seem to realize all the fuss when it comes to men being attracted to her. Why Aiden would feel insecure. Maybe because he doesn't feel he deservers her? It seems they both have many of the same insecurities when it comes to there acceptance of being worthy of each others love. Now as to the secondary characters~ I think it's great that Julian & Greta found each other. Seems like her father is having his own fairytale. Now as to Tabitha. I'm sorry, I cannot stand her. This jumping from one man to another, all to have better sex. That isn't only what love is about. I'm surprise she didn't have more enemies then she did. I don't know how I feel about a special forces guy having sadistic issues. But then again, that is part of PTSD from war. I think Tabitha should take more responsibility of her own life. She seems to want one Sugar daddy after another. When will she ever get a job & make something of herself? I don't want anymore of her story in the third chapter. But I know that isn't possible. Her excuse because of her mother passing, just doesn't cut it for me? The years before Clarissa's mom past didn't influence her at all. Clarissa & Aiden's sex does get a bit insatiable, but you do see both characters become more intimate & attached with each other. To me that is very important. It's written as though both characters are the other half of their coin. Two hearts becoming one soul. I do hope we don't get Jessica & Chris destroying their relationship in the last chapter. I dislike both of the characters. I might not understand art but I don't see the attraction to Chris just because he is a talented artist. Drugs, degrading women. Sorry not my cup of tea. I don't want to find out his characters gets the Vets hooked to drugs, because it will bring out their talent. Well, lets see how smoothly chapter 3 holds up. Will we get to read about their wedding?

JJ Sorel picks up where we left off in book 1, as Aidan and Clarissa are apart. But their attraction is so strong, they keep coming back to each other. I love the quirkiness of Clarissa and the over protectiveness of Aidan. But what I find really intriguing in this part of the story are the secondary characters. Chris, the artist comes into play as does Aidan's mother, Brock and Jessica all bringing their own chances to add conflict and craziness to the couple. Now completely invested in their happiness I have to listen to book 3 to see where it all plays out!
Narrated by Meghan Andrzejeweski & Thomas Hart, the story continues with consistency. There is nothing better than recognizing characters from book to book and these two keep the story flowing with wonderful voices and a good pace.
I read book 1 and started this book with enthusiasm but that quickly fell away. Clarissa is young and immature. She became high maintenance and whining…never attractive features. She also tends to run at the first sign of trouble. As another reviewer mentioned there is quite a lot of repetition in the dialogue. Towards the end of book one there is a lot of angst around Tabitha, Clarissa’s best friend and the fact that she is suddenly in a relationship with Aidan’s father. At least a chapter is spent on how Clarissa is going to tell Aidan, but this is not explained. In the next chapter it is mentioned in a passing comment between Clarissa and Aiden and he clearly knows what is going on between Tabitha and his father…but how? I have been drawn into this saga and will read book 3 but I hope there is a bit more variety in the dialogue.

I honestly feel as though this is a period read that was refashioned for the 20th century. The author rights a strong, borderline contemporary novel. The characters are often whiny, forgetful of what they have said or done in previous stories and do not speak like Californians. But overall the story was sweet. Sexual time overshadowed the books meaning. I think the author may have a stunted view of BDSM. Book 3 here I come. Must know the ending. The enemies have not even attached yet. They have piled together but there vengeance will begin in book 3.
Aiden and Clarissa become more deeply attached to one another and their feelings strengthen. But those feelings seem to be continuously tested by people from Aiden's past. It's become necessary to step up security, not only for Aiden but for Clarissa as well, because of potential threats. It's not all bad news though, Aiden's aunt and Clarissa's father marry and Clarissa accepts Aiden's marriage proposal.
This book has been very enjoyable. I love how the rich gorgeous guy falls for the plain vintage living virgin. There story is exiting and plenty of drama follows them. If there was one thing I had to criticise it would be that the same phrases are used often and it's gets a bit repetitive at times, in many of the sexy parts especially making it a bit predictable, e.g. This I going to be quick !! you will see the rest. But this is still a great read and defo worth it
When I started this journey I was very excited, not that I have changed my mind about the author, but in book#2 she has a lot going on.She was making a great picture in the first book but she seems to have gotten side tracked. This is a love story like none before I fell in love with the couple and I'm compelled to see it to the end.
DNF at 68%. I thought I could overlook some of the plots in this book, but I couldn’t. Not only does this book give an antiquated tone, but the H seems to just overlook major issues! I honestly felt like this series had so much potential and I kept hoping it’d improve, but it kept falling short for me. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be able to come back to this!
This is the second book in the Thornhill Trilogy, a Billionaire romance. The story continues where the first book left off. The storyline is interesting, and there is a lot going on in this installment. The secondary characters are intriguing. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Enfold. Mehgan Andrzejewski and Thomas Hart did a good job with the narration.
This story! This author! Characters are so well developed, even supporting one. I do not care fore Clarissa’s friend, Jessica, and am anticipating she is going to cause serious problems before this story is over.
3.5 sigue la misma linea del anterior, me gusta como es la relación de Aiden y clarissa, me agradá Greta, la propuesta declaración fue linda, pero la amiga Tabitha es totalmente inmadura
this was a great audio book to listen to while driving. I am enjoying listening to Clarissa's and Aidain's love story. I don't like her friend, Tabitha, too slutty for me.
Oh what are Jessica and Bryce upto, probally no good, and as for Tabitha well will that end well. Lets hope.they all don't pull Aiden and Clarissa down with them.
