Mace is the opposite of his brother Angus in most ways. He’s easygoing, quick to laugh, and a man who isn’t afraid to voice his opinion. A favor for his sister-in-law puts him in just the right place to meet a woman who looks like everything he’s dreamed of. A long afternoon chat in a bookstore leaves him wishing for just a little more of her time.

Reba is a single mom who can do it all. At least that is what she keeps telling herself as she runs a mile a minute working to give her family a life she only got glimpses of as a child herself. Reba’s first true love, her high school sweetheart and father to her children, burned bright until he winked out and changed into a man she didn’t know. She picks up her kids and moves to Rojo to be close to the only people she considers family and makes a happy life for the three of them.

A dark part of her past comes to haunt her and she is ready to run with her children, run away from everything they’ve ever known to anywhere that will keep them safe from harm. With the help of her family, new friends, and Mace, she stays and fights for her family and the life she’s always dreamed of.

With Mace by her side, she conquers the demon from her past and turns toward a brighter future. Mace says it best. “Even a good man is only as strong as the woman by his side. I can do anything with you.”

Mace is doing a favor for his brothers wife when he meets her physical therapist Reba. Mace is charmed by the sassy woman who is a single mother of two. Something between them is building and Mace wants to know more. Reba has not dated much but feels something for Mace. Things are going well until someone from Reba's past comes back upending her life and possibly her future with Mace. Reba though should know that once a Conner falls there is no coming back, they are all in where the love of their lives are concerned.

This was great, Reba is a strong woman. I loved her daughter, she had me laughing out loud and brought humor into the story repeatedly. Mace had been the laid back brother in the other books but you see a different side of him in this one. Terrific read.

Mace and Reba were so cute together. I was glad that both of them went with the attraction and that Mace didn't shy away from Reba's kids. When he talked to them, he treated them like little people, which went a long way. When Reba's past came at her fast, Mace was there for her, giving her a spot to let go of her breath and just be. When things got really crazy he was there for her as well and they took care business. But the best was the aftermath, where Mace took advantage of the situation and moved Reba and her kids in, starting their new life as a family.

Mace Finds His Forever Girl

Mace is a fun character. He’s still struggling, like all his family, after the death of his sisters and his parents. He loves the baby twins that Finn is raising with Lena and is happy to pitch in to help out, especially when they keep Finn and Lena up half the night. Essentially he’s a good guy, he works hard, he loves his family and isn’t particularly looking for a relationship and then he meets Reba, Lena’s physiotherapist and there are instant sparks.

Reba married her high school sweetheart, the football star, when she was really young. Her immediate family were a nightmare and leaving with her husband helped get her free of a really difficult childhood. After her marriage fell apart she moved to Rojo to be near her Uncle Tink and Aunt Sandy who were in Texas Knights MC. She has two kids, both in the same year at school, born 11 months apart. They are cute, bright and fight like cats and dogs with each other because they are so different.

I really like how their relationship starts out with lots of talking and laughing, along with the raunchy side of things. Their conversations are funny and easy going and they get each other to laugh all the time.

This book really pulls together the three series that this author has written about Rojo, Texas, and I liked how it connects them up. It’s a small town and of course people are going to know, or know of, each other.

It’s not all light hearted fun, though there is plenty of that. There is some peril and angst, but it’s not the main feeling you get whilst reading the book. I really enjoyed the book, as I have all the others by this author. They are great small town romances that don’t take themselves too seriously.

4 1/2 stars!

I do NOT consider it to be a STAND-ALONE read. Cee Bowerman authors multiple series set within Rojo, Texas and they are intertwined. There is a correct reading order and it can be found on her website (ceebowermanbooks.com). These really do need to be read in that order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe (world building), with past and concurrent timelines and overarching themes.

** There are some scenes that will be a trigger for sensitive readers. I have included examples below. Also, if you have not read the previous story in this series, the following may contain SPOILERS **

Another great story in Rojo, Texas! While neither Reba nor Mace belong to a MC, there is character interaction and crossover so I left the topics covered for all of the Rojo series. We meet Sonny’s cousin, Reba, who is a divorced single mother of two young children, and learn more about Mace (aka not the grumpy twin), one of the Connor brothers and twin to Angus (the grumpy one), who hasn’t been featured heavily in the past.

Despite the darker themes, this is written with a sense of humor. There are scenes that are LOL hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣 Reba’s mini me is something else and a real scene stealer, even her son is a charmer.

I was surprised by how unfamiliar Mace was with members of the Kings and Knights, even though they would be of a similar age, are in similar professions with some of them, and would have crossed paths somewhat in school, the community, etc. unless Mace only dealt in finishing work. That has been a bit of a gap for me in this series as a whole. What exactly does each brother do within their company? Plus what happened to the bet they had on the next brother to fall? The open threads when. combined with the grammatical issues (see below for more info) was why I struggled with giving this a full 5 stars, even though I enjoyed it tremendously.

In this story, Reba is a physical therapist who just recently moved to Rojo to be near her family. She has two young children (quite the characters 😂). Reba meets Mace when she and Lena go for coffee after one of Lena’s PT sessions and he was her transportation. The two of them hit it off and he asks her out on a date.

Reba has trust issues after what she went through with her now ex-husband, who was her high school sweetheart, and his mother. She is willing to go out with someone, but will wait for their actions to speak for them. Mace trips all of buttons and whistles and she starts to care for him very quickly, and the feeling seems to be mutual.

Mace and Reba have an awesome first date! Then her former mother-in-law starts coming around and Reba finds out her ex-husband is out of jail. Sonny works with his MC to help protect her and the kids. One of the Kings’ prospects will stay at her house and others will rotate outside coverage as needed.

Then things take a really bad turn when additional information comes to light about someone from her past. Can Mace and others keep her and her babies safe? Can Mace convince her to stay in town and not run where she would be on her own? Will he even want to?

One last note before I wrap this part up for readers not sure about the genre … the MC genre contains several different branches from sweet to outlaw to one percenters. While the Texas Knights MC is in the middle imo, the Texas Kings MC is more of the outlaw variety. Both focus on love, brotherhood, families and support, but the Texas Kings also bring vengeance to the table.

⛔️ The interwoven SERIES contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, (play) spanking for pleasure, restraints, “bottom” play, breath play, sensory deprivation, voyeurism, exhibitionism, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, alcoholism, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, rape, attempted rape, stalking, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, arson, drug use, drug addiction, drug manufacturing, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females and/or children, polygamy, etc.

** Caution: The series contains scenes with reference to, or detailed graphic violence against females and children that fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **

There are a few grammatical issues in this story. I highlighted a few of the errors and uploaded them to Goodreads.com for anyone interested. One of those include an incorrect name. I am mentioning these issues for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

Mace is book 3 in the new series Conner Brothers Construction written by the talented author Cee Bowerman. Another fantastic addition to the series! I love all Cee Bowermans books and her writing style. This is Mace and Reba story. Reba is a single mother of two and Lena’s physiotherapist, they meet through Lena. Mace is another of the Conner brothers, one of those twins, charming, loyal and a hard worker. The story line is full of loyalty and family love, humor, banter, amazing characters,a bit of suspense and danger, funny children and romance. A MUST READ!!! I would definitely recommend this book!! Can't wait for more stories from the hot Connor brothers!

Loved it!

Reba and Mace. Two people connected by more than what they feel.
Reba is a divorced mother of two, working to give her kids the best she can. Mace is one of the Conner brothers, one of those twins. Their paths were meant to cross and intersect. The way their lives are already intertwined, is amazing. The family ties, they bind tightly. Proving once again, that family isn't always by blood.
The epilogue was proof of how strong both Reba and Mace are. Strong as individuals and strong as a couple.

Love Her Books

Another smashing hit, seriously your pumping these out and not a single one has fallen flat for me. I will admit I love the brothers less than your MC books. However it’s really like loving an Oreo verses an chocolate chip cookie they both satisfy a craving and in the end ummm yeah chocolate. I loved the kids and Mace turned up to be the sweetest brother of the clan so far so that poked me in the feels. Thank you for continuing your amazing Rojo families, it gives us readers so much joy and escape in these harsh times.

Oh WOW!

Cee, you did it again. If you are a fan of "The Texas Knights MC" series or " The Texas King's MC" series, you will find a few old friends show up in this book. The way Cee has all 3 of her book series weave and intermingle is awesome. Characters you love pop up and their stories fill out in and among the Conner Brothers books. This story had me laughing, crying, cheering and at times holding my breath. Thank you Cee for an amazing story! Cannot wait for the next one.

Another great sidewinder construction

Anyone who likes a little spice with their sweet and a little drama thrown in will love this book, as well as the first two and the ones to follow. The Connor brothers are easy to fall in love with and the women that love them are strong, resilient and have a great sense of humor. It is so much fun to be a part of these characters falling in love, fighting their demons and living their happily ever after. Mace and Reba are no exception; be prepared to not put this book down until the end and then say, "I want more".

Mace and Reba

This was an exciting story. Mace falls for Reba who has an ex druggie husband, a crazy ex mother-in-law and a wonderfully caring aunt, uncle and cousins. She needs all the support she can get when her brother decides to kill her. It’s an exciting story wrapped around a romance with Mace. Her kids are delightful and the supporting characters from previous books are like visiting friends. I loved this one! I can always count on this author to provide hours of reading pleasure!

Good Read

Another brother bites in the dust in this book which tells Mace and Reba’s story. I really love in these books how the characters from the different series pop up and how it really seems to be a small world with some of the connections. I enjoyed the story and loved Reba’s kids, they reminded me so much of my childhood. I found some parts to be quite an emotional journey and really felt for the characters at those points. Overall, it was a really good read and one I would recommend.

Mace and Reba meet through Lena as she is Lena's therapist. Sparks fly, they hit it off and man things go from zero to hot real quick. Throw in a deranged brother and you have yourself a hell of a story. Cee's stories seamless interwine around each other and each series. I love how you get glimpses of Texas Kings, Texas Knights. This gives a whole new meaning of 6 degrees of separation!. Loved this book. Love this series and totally Love this author.

Mace and Reba!

This book was so good! The author once again weaves a fresh and interesting story into the world of Rojo, Texas. We see a bunch of favorite characters make appearances in this book, but you don’t need to know the history to follow the plot.

Reba is a strong lead. Her kids are a hoot. Mace is drool worthy, and a nice guy. The dialog between characters is fantastic, and draws you into the book.

Another fantastic addition to the series!

This has been a wild ride of a series, and this story was no exception. With awesome characters, lots of humor, crazy family members, suspense, and unexpected twists and turns, this is certainly a story that you won't want to miss.
I would highly recommend reading the other series by this author as well, especially since they're all absolutely amazing stories.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

Mace and Reba

Another fabulous story. I really enjoyed the interaction between Cyrus and Vada, showing themselves as typical younger siblings. Wow with the mother in law from hell and how she was enabling her grown son, who apparently cared more about his drugs, than his children. Thank goodness he got the help he needed. Poor Reba with the psycho brother and he finally got what he deserved. Happy reading ladies.

More suspense than the last book

I'm so glad for the drama and suspense to be longer than the last book. Thank you Cee. I loved all the characters and reading about the old together. Only had one problem. At the 10 year fast forward how many kids did they have. Was very bummed about not reading that. You don't do a fast forward with that grrr. On to the next book hopefully it's in that one.

WHAT A SWEETHEART!

I thoroughly enjoyed this third book in the Conner Brother Construction series. Each brother is the epitome of what we are all looking for in a man. They're smart, good looking, great sense of humor, talented, own their own business, devoted to their women, and great lovers! Plus they each own their own beautiful home on what I can only envision as a compound. What more do we need!

A good sweet love story between Mace and Reba. It's nice to see a story that includes children already by one partner and that the new partner makes an effort to bond with them.. The threat of her brother coming after her seemed to drag a bit and the fact that Darryl was able to circumvent all their preparations and almost killed Jace in the end it is just a little far fetched but when it comes to a love story you have to have some kind of evil doer for them to triumph over.

Reba and mace are great together this book is full of laughs tears and drama and leads into the books and not the last time we see the characters from this books I recommend you read them all and maybe look at cees reading order as the conners brothers knights kings and rojo books are link but you can read independently as a great job of explaining characters

IDK this one just didn’t do it for me. I’m pretty sure it’s the lack of sizzle between the MC’s and definitely their lack of character development.

Mace was a snooze fest and she was just … IDK what she was. Boring. Dull. Uninteresting 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I couldn’t see these two together. And all these kids. It’s like these stories are about the kids and not about the couple. And their mission in life is to procreate versus have a relationship develop first.

Loved it!

See has given us another brother to love. I loved how strong both of them are, even when they didn't realize it. Veda could give everyone a run for their money and i think that was hilarious. It was so nice to get more of a glimpse of more of the Knights and Kings in this one as well....can I please move to Rojo now??

I think this is my favourite book to date. It had everything from laughter to action, coupled with great chemistry and the reintroduction of characters you've come to love.

I found Car's books by accident but what a great accident. I enjoyed the romance between Mace and Reba. I love how the whole family interacts and you can picture it all happening. I wonder who in the MC Vada will end up with!! The possibilities are endless. I can't wait for the next installment. Thanks for a good read.

Mace & Reba

I really enjoyed this book, it’s was great to see so many familiar faces pop up from the other series. For a small town in Texas there are a lot of beautiful people roaming around, I wonder if it’s something in the water or the sunlight that beams down on this fictional town that I really wish I could visit.
