An interesting collection of stories for a great cause. Each story offers something different with a theme of torture. This isn’t my usual genre but I enjoyed the change.

5 Torturing, Mind Blowing Stars!

I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Hell’s Table by A.J. Blackburn
Hell’s Table is an intriguing and captivating paranormal story. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this story at first, and very cleverly, A.J. Blackburn pulls you in, has you hooked, you see one plot twist that you didn’t expect, and as another unfolds, she leaves you hanging! To be continued… were the words I read and shouted aloud, because I needed the rest of the story right there and then! With this said, the story does have a concluded ending, however, it also has so much more to tell us, and I cannot wait to read the full story. I am now stalking this author, eagerly await the release of Hell’s Table and to look at her other books.

Brazen by Anna Edwards
I enjoyed Anna Edwards take on the underworld. This short paranormal romance story is intriguing, and I was not always sure where it was heading. I admit I did not see the twists 100%, and I loved how she showed us a possible softer side to the devil.

Night Vengeance by Claire Marta
Claire Marta has written a fascinating story, based upon a legendary character, and put a modern spin upon it. The story kept me captivated and did not reveal the truth behind the main character straight away. This story is cleverly scripted, to keep us the reader on our toes!

Fractured Remains by Crystal North
Dark, captivating and intriguing harem story, that left me needing and wanting more! The characters are fascinating, and have you loving each of them for different reasons. The subject of this story is one that sadly happens, and this little story gives you an insight into the how. Fractured Remains ends with, to be continued… ARGH! I should feel annoyed, because I was so invested in this story, I wanted to devour it all! However, I love how Crystal North has pulled me in and had me looking to pre-order the full-length novel. I may also now be stalking her on social media.

Piper by Emma Luna
Crazy, dark and twisted is how I would describe this story from Emma Luna. A story that went a little out of my comfort zone. However, I cannot deny how intrigued I was by Piper, and although I had kind of worked out what was going to happen, I did not quite see it panning out the way it did. I am impressed with Emma’s imagination, she certainly has a deep, dark, crazy side, and has found a way to share it with us. Not usually my cup of tea, but I cannot deny it has intrigued me to read more. This story does conclude. However, it is another story waiting to be continued and I might just have to read it!

Sins of the Brother by L M Morgan
A little Dark Mafia story that had me hooked! The St Claire brothers had me intrigued, especially Chuck. He was not your typical mafia brother, and it was clear it was not a life he happily chooses. His father and older brother, are the darkest characters, twisted and crazy. His older brother soon discovers his actions will not always go unnoticed. LM Morgan introduced us to a Welcome Parade, and not of the friendly kind. I would be open to more from the St Claire family, ‘hint, hint’!

Revenge: A Dish Best Served Screaming
A story about revenge, to punish those who had taken a young, innocent life. This story was a surprise, I did not see the twist coming at all! Even when it was revealed, I still sat thinking, no this cannot be true? Can it? Paula Acton has a great talent for keeping the mystery about a story, captivating you, building up the tension, keeping the reader guessing and surprising you with a huge plot twist!

Breathe Again by Samantha Lewis
A dark, shocking story, that had me filling with rage, and wanting to crawl into the story to inflict revenge on a vile, sick twisted man. However, I am not sure my torture would have been as well delivered and as excruciating as it was in this story. Samantha Lewis has written a great story, of how one’s torture is what fuels them, when they get chance to deliver revenge. A heart-breaking story, but with a deliciously dark revenged ending.

The Witches of North Berwick House by T.J. Podger
A mysteriously, ghostly, story that captivates you from start to finish. Berwick House is dangerous, yet there is a pull to it, that you struggle to fight. Frederick has witnessed as a young boy what things happen at Berwick house, and although he begs his wife to avoid the house, she cannot keep away. Loved this mysterious story, and it was a great addition to the novella, The Last Witch of North Berwick House also by T.J. Podger, is another book I would highly recommend.

DO NOT let the, ‘to be continued stories’, put you off this anthology! You WILL want to buy those stories when the full-length novels are released, and you do not want to miss the other fantastic stories this Anthology and its awesome authors have to offer. These stories are all perfect for a short read to unwind, before heading to bed. It stops the need for ‘one more chapter’ that is never just one and has you awake until the early hours because you cannot put the book down!

Crystal north--Fractured Remains 🖤
Omg I need more!!! I'm a crazy for loving this story? Because it was amazing. It's dark af, with the torture and kidnapping, but damn I'm addicted. I'm in love with Tex, he's got a sweet, guy next door look on the outside, but it's a beast on the inside. And even though the other two didn't have as much spotlight, I'm sure we will hear more from them later. And that bomb that was dropped at the end? I wasn't expecting that shit, but fuck if it doesn't spike my curiosity even more. Crystal North kept to her name, the queen of cliffhangers, and I can't wait to read the rest 🖤

AJ Blackburn--Hells table 🖤
So so good!! I was a bit scared at the beginning, with the torture and stuff, but damn what a plot twist. I don't think I'll go to a Halloween party ever again, this scared me to death 😂 I wasn't expecting that ending at all and I was hating on Dante thinking is was a fucking psycho (wich he is) but he's actually a good fucking psycho 😂
Even though this was just a prequel of what's to come, I can't wait to read about Dani's path to discover her magic, to discover herself and kill some fuckers with sexy af Dante 🖤

Wow just wow, I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I started this book but it definitely wasn't this. This book for some of the stories definitely needs as many trigger warnings written on them as possible. I'm someone who has a high tolerance for themes and usually count myself as having no trigger but there was definitely one or two where even I had to consider if I wanted to keep reading with the sheer darkness contained within the pages.

The subject matter of the book is pretty much the title, Torture. And there are definitely some weird and wonderful displays of torture within the stories. Some are short stories that I believe once told, no more will be added but there are a few that are used as prequels to a larger story in the future.

Although each story was brilliant in its own right with their own intriguing stories and intricate characters, I want to give a special shout out to AJ Blackburn's, Hell's Table, and Crystal North's Fractured Remains, these are definitely two I would happily read more of in the future.

This Anthology is not for the faint hearted.

A collection of short stories and excerpts from different authors. I have a love hate relationship with these books, I get to read stories I might not usually go for but I’m so greedy I just want more.

This book is true to its title with Torture being the main theme throughout and is most definitely not for the faint hearted. It’s dark and twisted with some truly horrifying scenes. It’s the perfect Halloween read.

A couple of the short stories would make amazing full length novels and as always with anthology’s the excerpts Of full stories have left me desperate for more.

Hells table by AJ Blackburn and Fractured Remains by Crystal North really stood out to me and I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of their stories.
I need to make a special mention of Piper by Emma Luna, girl your mind is dark and I am here for it. I was horrified yet couldn’t tear my eyes from the pages.

Torture: A Halloween Anthology, written by nine authors, specifically for Halloween.
From what I've read so far, it's definitely going to be perfect for Halloween.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Brazen by Anna Edwards

The story of Adam and Eve but not as you know it.
Eve is a succubus, working for the Devil himself. She takes the souls of men to create the next generation of demons for Lucifer's army.

"𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏."

In a bar in the human world, she sets her sights on Adam. He'll make good, strong demons. When the time comes to let him die, something changes and she finds herself unable to finish the job. Is Eve developing feelings?

I love Anna Edwards' paranormal works. Brazen is an intriguing read, creative and captivating. A little dark but delicious, just the way I like it.
I'd love more from Eve and Adam and this world....pretty please!

This review is for Samantha Lewis Book

This is a dark read.
Elisia's father Simon is one of the heads in a racketeering business along with his best friend Jez Walker. Jez's son Seb is to wed Elisia, but with inside information Seb tells his father what he knows and things heat up.
When Elisia finds herself on the wrong side of her father things take a turn for the worse, been treated like every other girl that they have kidnapped, what with being beaten, raped and tourched.
As I said a dark read, but you will want to keep turning them pages.

This review is specifically for Fractured Remains by Crystal North. I'll update with others as I finish them!

First a note on the whole book - it's a Halloween Anthology by British authors, so expect dark, tortures souls. All the stories come with trigger warnings; this isn't sugar and spice and all things nice!

The story centres round Callie, who is recovering from an incident that is hinted at, but not fully explored, and her three friends and protectors. The three guys are there to both protect Callie and help her heal, and to hunt down and avenge the bad guys.

For a short (approx 16k word count) story, the characters are quickly and effectively developed, looking at both past and future relationships, and the how of what happened to Callie is told via flashbacks to text messages and one hell of a twist/cliffhanger at the end!

In line with the warnings, there's one torture scene which I'd describe as descriptive rather than gory, and in fitting with the rest of the story.

As mentioned, it ends on a cliffhanger, with the follow up due next year. Can't wait!

HOLY DARK AND SCARY HELL! I've always known that I'm dark & twisty so it takes a lot to actually make me blink, but I'm here to say that this Anthology did just that. Torture is theme of the day in this insane experience of bite size stories that had me blinking from new to me authors. I promise that this anthology isn't for the faint hearted since there's all kinds dark, twisted, and torture scenes that will shock the hell out of you as goosebumps rise all over you body. I had to take breaks, and yet, I couldn't leave it for long because I was fully drawn into it (however I did sleep with the light on that night after I finished it LOL). These authors are straight up brilliant, dark, and descriptive geniuses as I felt like I was in the brutally insane scenes along with the victims. So, if you're brave enough (& I would totally understand if you weren't) so buckle the hell up & grab the holy water for the insane ride on the dark side! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO THOSE BRAVE ENOUGH!

This review is for a few short stories in this antho. There are nine short stories in this antho and I have currently read two. Here are the following reviews;

Piper-Emma Luna
Well this story was crazy good. So you have Piper who has had a horrible past and decided to make sure that she will always be in control of her life and nothing will hurt her again. It is dark and twisted which I love. Even though it is twisted, there are some hot moments too. I would really like to know what will happen between Ollie and Piper.

Fractured Remains- Crystal North
This little short story had me on edge and angsty. It is so good. Even though it is short, it gives you a lot of information in pieces. You have Callie who has been through something horrible, her room mates Tex, Devon, and East who obviously have feelings for Callie. These guys are trying to figure out what and how something happened to Callie. This story will grip your heart and play with all your emotions. I cannot wait for the full book to come out. It is so good.

I will update this review once I complete the other stories but so far so good.

This is a review for Piper by Emma Luna only, full review of the Torture Anthology will be released at a later date.

I’m speechless! I honestly don’t know what to say about this book. I have a few ideas of what I could say but I don’t think that would be close to how I want to describe it. Emma Luna left me speechless! This books was GRITTY! It wasn’t what I expected but yet I was so intrigued and definitely want more. Piper is such an interesting woman. You learn a little about here in this anthology. I am craving to know more of her story. I’m sure it will help explain why she does things she was she does. Then there is Ollie. He is so dedicated to Piper I love it! You can see the connection instantly between the two. It’s so sexy between the two! This is definitely left on a cliffhanger that I know I need to see where it goes! It’s such an intersecting story and I’m so excited to read more and get the full book!

This Halloween Anthology is a captivating read filled with dark, twisted short and full length stories that held my attention from the first page until the last. I loved that the money raised by the sale of this book is going to a great cause. I've read all of the stories in this anthology and I loved them all. Here are a couple of my favorites.
Brazen: By Anna Edwards
Brazen is a dark and twisted story of Adam and Eve. In this book Eve is a succubus who is sent by the Devil to take men's souls in order to build Lucifer's army. This author writes the best paranormal books and I really hope this short story turns into a series. It's that good.
Night Vengeance: By Claire Marta
Night Vengeance is a short, dark and creepy story about Frankenstein. This is a fast paced read filled with interesting characters and a twisted story that would make a great series.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this anthology.

***This review is Crystal North’s portion of this anthology titled Fractured Remains***

Callie barely survives a trafficking abduction and her three best friends East, Tex and Devon are there to help her heal from such a horrific event that left her broken.
Their love and fierce need to protect Callie came through strong with the lengths they go to as they secretly hunt down those who abducted and tortured her.

This short teaser was everything and more as it ever so slowly revealed some of the story while leaving me desperate to know everything else that happened and how it will all turn out!!! I seriously cannot wait to read the full story, as this captivating dark RH revenge romance will bring out every emotion.

This anthology is full of spooky, captivating and dark short stories.
They are definitely not for the faint-hearted. This book is perfect for the Halloween month.

I love anthologies because they give me the chance to read short stories and to experience new authors. I have found some amazing new authors to follow and stalk. Hehe.

Some of these short stories would make amazing full-length novels, and maybe we will get more of them in the future. These stories were dark and full of twists. I loved these.

I would recommend reading this collection, and you will also be helping at the same time because the money made from this book is going to charity.

I received a free ARC copy of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

I read Fractured Remains by Crystal North and Oh My Sh** it was amazing. It is super dark and is not for people that have triggers. There is a lot of story packed into this short novella, building a foundation for a bigger story later (I hope). This story leaves you wanting more, not in the lacking way, but in the, "This is totally amazing, I need more!" kind of way.

There are a lot of questions posed and North takes us through a story jumping back and forth between now and before the FMC was kidnapped. The story from before the kidnapping is told through text messages between the FMC and her kidnapper. All of this leading up to a shocking twist and cliffhanger at the end. I can't wait until we can get the full story. This has definitely whet my appetite and I need more.

This could be her best writing yet, which is saying a lot since everything she writes is amazing. I could not set this book down for even a second. I was COMPLETELY hooked to this story from the first page to the last. It's going to be so so hard waiting for the rest of the story.

I have been excited for this anthology to come out. Amazing talented authors all joined together for a great cause. You seriously can't go wrong. However after reading Crystal Norths piece to this I'm even more excited. Everyone needs to buy this book now!

I read Crystal North - fractured remains

Wow, what a fantastic and dark story. There's everything you could ask for in this dark tale, including kidnapping and torture. It's the kind of book that you just can't look away. I loved the characters and the direction of the story. That ending had my wanting to throw my kindle. It was delicious and completely mind altering. I can't wait for more... Because I need more! Crystal has a fantastic way of telling a story that has depth, emotions and rawness that has you thinking about the book long after you've done!

My review for Fractured Remains by Crystal North

Dark & bloody but my god is its a flaming good read. Callie (FMC) has been kidnapped and tortured. This book/taster picks up with the aftermath of that as well as the repercussions of that event. Struggling to live her life after all thats happened Callie's only lifelines are East, Devon and Tex but they are more than seem. Im dying to get my hands on the full book now because this one was so good

I must admit I have only read the short story Fractured Remains as I am a big Crystal North fan. And OMG! I can't wait til she releases the whole story. It sucked me in right away. I loved the guys. I loved our female lead. My brain was constantly trying to work through all the things they were feeling in the aftermath of the incident that left our main FC with "fractured remains." This review is for Fractured Remains by Crystal North.
From the start, you can tell how important Callie is to the guys. Crystal did a great job of expressing that through each point of view. Details about who the guys are and what happened to Callie are revealed throughout the book. This made me want to continue reading.
The cliffhanger does just that, drops a bomb then leaves you hanging. I can't wait for the next book to learn more about Callie’s story.
