He hates me.
Every look, every word tells me so.
Maybe it’s my weakness, my scars.
Whatever his reasons, he’s determined to drive me out of the Brotherhood.
If his taunts and insults don’t break me…his kisses will.

Good. But...

I give this story 3.5 stars. This book was better than Ms. Blue’s last few offerings but I still felt like something was missing. I understand that Shay’s scars were what defined her but couldn’t she have provided a more detailed description of her looks other than the fact she had large breasts and a big butt. She also didn’t provide a great description of Riker, in my opinion. Also, maybe I’m to blood thirsty but there was a scene I would have enjoyed a lot more if there had been some bloodletting. My final critique is with regard to the editing. I received at least three previews so it seems there was time to ensure the sentences made sense. Words were out of sequence, missing, etc. All in all it was decent enough for me to read in a couple of hours but it didn’t resonate with me like her earlier books. I can’t see myself reading this again unlike the Romanian Mob Chronicles. I read the first two books in this series via KU but the previews made this one seem more promising, but for me it didn’t quite get there. Please read for yourself. I bought, but would suggest KU then if you enjoy it make the purchase to add to your library.

Riker did not disappoint!

I loved his attitude and personality right from the start. With his slick mouth and no nonsense ways, it only seems fitting that his heart would lean towards his exact opposite. Shay is quiet, a bit meek, and very self conscious, so being around someone like Riker was more than nerve wracking. When they put down the boxing gloves long enough to realize that the saying "there's a thin line between love and hate" might just have some truth to it, it was too late to turn back. This is definitely my favorite, so far.

Better than previous book

I liked this book far better than the last on. Ryker and Shay's story had a more natural and realistic flow to it. I also liked the way the way Shay's came to realise just how toxic her father was and even though she loved him, especially after what he did and allowed to be done to her, she finally let him go.
The four stars are because for some reason Erin's (from book 1) name was change to Angel.

Growth

Well Shay’s daddy will not get the Father of the Year Award! Did Pavel know that it was her father stealing from him all along? Why did Pavel when he knew that it was Shay’s father who had stolen from him did he insinuate that he would hurt the only person who could fix the problem instead of the one that caused the problem? So glad that Shay had some emotional growth. Riker , the man of a few words was a hoot!

Good book

I generally am a big Kaye fan and probably read most if not all of her books. However, the grammatical errors in this book was very off putting to me. I know she’s been ill and dealing with a lot this year so I’ll definitely give her some much needed and deserved grace.
I liked this book and the characters. I would like a little bit more action though or the book begins to get boring. It’s supposed to be a mafia story, but where’s the mafia drama?

Enemies to Friends

Shay and Riker have circled around each other for ten years. Ten years of hating each other until in a moment sexual awareness enters the picture and hate turns to love.

Their scenes together were hot but this book dragged on a little bit too long ever though it was a short read.

I don’t understand the character name change though. Sasha married Erin in book 1, she was Erin in book 2, and now book 3 all of a sudden her name is Angel.

So looking forward to this book

Having read the two previous books,I was already smitten with Riker and What and their tempestuous relationship!! The story gets better. However some little inconsistencies: Pavel would not have gone to the meeting place alone. One of his goons would have been there. And Kaye, the name of your protagonist in the first book in the series "Obsessed" is Erin so who is this "Angel" you keep referring to??

Cruel?

During the previous books, I wondered what was Riker’s issue and now we know. The first two books were good, but so far Riker is my favorite. The bluntness and seemingly cruelty of Riker was needed for Shay to come out of her shell. The final installment is too far away, but I’m sure will be worth it.

A Little Better...

To be " mafia" based books, there's really not a lot of action as far as what real gangsters would do in any of the situations in all of these books. Not a bad storyline but really too tame. And the typo's could use a good proof reader

This is not for the faint of heart

I'm a romantic at heart and a large part of this book does NOT fit the bill. Riker is not the typical hero and Shay is definitely no heroine. I'd have liked for the Brotherhood to have taken Shay's father to the same place they took Plavel.

hot and heavy

Damn! This book is fire! Love the storyline and the characters they are each unique in their own way. The brotherhood is very much like a family a mob family. Worth the read with actions and romance all at once.

Sweet!

I love all her books. Sexy funny sweet suspense . There’s not a book by her I haven’t loved. This has been one of the best. Loved both characters.

Liked it

I enjoy Kaye Blue and this story didn’t disappoint. Riker and Shay were good together. I loved that he saw her for her and helped her to see her beauty. It’s a sweet story
