Белгийската писателка и психоаналитичка Жаклин Харпман (1929 - 2012) е автор на трийсетина произведения и лауреат на престижната френска награда "Медисис" за романа "Орланда" (1996), на белгийската награда "Виктор Росел" за "Кратка Аркадия" (1959) и на наградата на Френскоезичната общност в Белгия за романа "Успението на любовниците" (2003). Член на Белгийското психоаналитично общество и на Международната психоаналитична асоциация, тя до края на дните си ще съвместява работата на писател с тази на психоаналитик.

"Бог и аз" е нейната трета, преведена на български език книга, след "Пропуснато бъдеще" и "Аз, която не познах мъжете".

About the author

Jacqueline Harpman was born in Etterbeek, Belgium, in 1929. Being half Jewish, the family moved to Casablanca when the Nazis invaded, and returned home after the war. After studying French literature she started training to be a doctor, but could not complete her medical studies when she contracted tuberculosis. She turned to writing in 1954 and her first work was published in 1958. In 1980 she qualified as a psychoanalyst. She had given up writing after her fourth book was published, and resumed her career as a novelist only some twenty years later. She wrote twelve novels and won several literary prizes, most recently the Médicis for the present novel. She was married to an architect and had two children.

Dieu et moi était prometteur dans l'intention, et j'attendais de Jacqueline Harpman qu'elle donne de la substance à ce dialogue entre Dieu et une athée. Malheureusement, on ne sort jamais du vaudeville, où Dieu et Jacqueline se poursuivent de pièce en pièce, sans jamais créer un embryon de conversation nourrissante... dommage.
