Last year when I went on my poetry binge, there were some authors that I thought to read again, so I went back through my reviews and decided to see what else DaKiara had done. I looked at a few of her other projects before I saw Simple Complexity and fell in love with the cover! It didn’t seem like it would be too heavy from the synopsis and I just wanted a relatively light read at the moment, so Simple Complexity felt like the right book for me. It turned out that it really was, it did tug on my heartstrings a little, but I enjoyed the poems in this collection. My only note was that while the design on the page was beautiful, a little bit of the poem was cut off sometimes and I couldn’t always tell what a line or word was supposed to be. However, I was still able to understand the poem and there were times when the poem started and ended the same way, so I wouldn’t let that be a reason for you to not pick this up. I really enjoyed Simple Complexity and DaKaria’s poem style and I will pick her up again.

A great collection of well-written poetry on love, everyday struggles, and life in general. I have read this author before. She has a lot of great books. Would and will definitely read her again.
