Nadia Sanders is in Jamaica preparing for the most spectacular event of her life. Gia is there to make sure nothing spoils her best friend’s big day. But that was not to be when Keith White is offended by what Nadia says. It ruins what is supposed to be.
Business brings Nadia and Marcel Baptiste into the same boardroom. Marcel likes what he sees on and off paper and is convinced Nadia can keep her end of the bargain for the business side. However, what he’s more interested in is if she can handle him on the romantic side. Even though she is drawn to him, Nadia is not in a hurry to meet Marcel’s love requirements, but there is no denying he does more than his due diligence to make sure she meets him halfway.
Nadia pushes and Marcel pulls being forced to stand his ground. Can Nadia handle a man who refuses to be anything less than a real man no matter how hard she pushes? Find out what’s really in store for these two as they take us on an interesting journey of heartbreak, disappointment, and love.

**This book contains a rape scene. If you do not like this element in a romance read, this is not the book for you.**

From romance to psychological thrillers, to a good family gathering, I love to read it and talk about it so I definitely love to write about it. My characters tell me what they want you to know. I am only the chosen vessel speaking on their behalf. I hope you enjoy what you read and follow me on my social media platforms to find out what character has spoken and what they have to say.

"Cautiously" by S. Shanee Byers

My Speculation:

'Cautiously' will leave you feeling somewhat sorry for Nadia in how she grow up without a loving mom. That presented issues for her in dealing with her life, especially when it came to men in how she treated them. Even though Nadia had a loving father, sister, brother, and best friend, will she be able to see that she needed some help [therapy] in her situation, especially when it came to her mom and her dealing with men? I am not saying that the guy she was going to marry, taking abuse from him during their sex time, was OK because it was not!

It wasn't until Nadia met Marcel that she began to get the support that she needed because one could see how he was there for her through the thick and thin of it all. It was good to see how the author brings the group therapy sessions in with her family; that was greatly needed with that mother. And in the end, all seemed to work out 'Cautiously.'

Love With Caution

The beginning of this book had me HOTT and not in a good way. I didn't like the main character Nadia, at all for how she treated her fiancee, Keith, before they were going to get married. And the way she just casually threw out the word rape was a HUGE no-no. That relationship was over well before it ended officially and Keith should've ended it BEFORE letting all their family and friends travel all the way to Jamaica. What a disaster.

Speaking of disaster, Nadia's mom, Nita was a Complete Disaster. WOW 😳! She was horrible to her husband and daughter. Just WOW🤦🏾‍♀️.

Now, Gia, Nadia's best friend was a true friend bc I would've bounced on Nadia and her ways years ago. I loved Gia.

For the little part they showed up in the book, I liked Nadia's siblings, Donte and Naomi. I loved all 3 of their bond.

Now, as for the 2nd part of the book, I really liked Marcel. Sweet and manly. He was what Nadia needed; a real man who helped her heal and see her true self. I loved that he stood by her even when it got ugly.

Everyone needs a loving father like Darren. He was super dad and I felt his pain and love.

This was a good read. I'm enjoying this series.

Wasted potential

This story could have been great. Unfortunately the author just presented the issues , and didn't really show growth or progress to resolve the issues of the main character. She basically beat a decent man down, cancelled a wedding, went home focused on work , met another man, something felt different than other relationships. Her mother is a shrew who she basically mimics all without realizing it. Wasted 2 hours of my day.

Bitter Relationships

In the end Nadia found the right person for her..Marcel loved her for her. Nadia’s relationship with her mother hindered many of the previous relationships she had and left her bitter and always wondering what was wrong with her her questioning why they were interested.

Very good read but slow in the beginning for me.
