Sleep Meditations: to help tired minds unwind and drift off…

Rate this book
The sleep meditations in this beautifully illustrated book are written specifically to help the reader slow down a busy mind, let go of the day and relax into a restful night's sleep. All the senses are gently engaged to enhance the process, and research now shows that imagining a sea breeze or a still lake is as mentally beneficial as being there. Similarly, meditations included help the reader to put down their worries and turn them over to the unconscious world, and welcome in calm and restoring energy. The visual design of the book has been created to enhance the relaxing reading experience, with plenty of space to breathe... I read through this in one sitting and found it to be a beautiful little book. Just reading the words slowly was very relaxing in itself , without doing the physical act of meditation.

I am not new to meditation at all and I don’t usually use guided ones to connect within. However having read this gem of a book, I am excited to try these out.
The book comprises of 5 evening meditations and 10 meditations for sleep. I loved them all.

Think mountains, lakes, the beach , forest walks aaah ... if you are an outdoorsy person and love being in nature you will love these visualisations.

The author suggests ways to prepare yourself for each meditation using essential oils to aid the process. In some cases Epsom salt baths, candles and crystals may be also suggested.
I don’t think you need to necessarily go out and buy these to begin the process of meditation but if you have the oils to hand then it’s definitely something that can enhance the meditations and support relaxation and sleep.

I love essential oils personally and use them in my home so when I saw them mentioned I was so excited.

The author guides you through every step of the meditations. You can read them and meditate along with the book or record yourself reading them slowly and calmly and then play them back to yourself while you follow.

This little hardback book would make a lovely gift for someone who is on a spiritual path, whether a newbie or otherwise.

I recommend for anyone who wants to explore ways of dealing with stress and/or has trouble relaxing before bed and struggle to get to sleep.

This book details a series of meditations to assist in getting a good nights rest.

I picked this book up as, probably like the majority of the population, I have had a few sleepless nights. I found the first couple of sections (such as 'The bridge to') helpful / thought provoking, but after that it lost me.

Reading time around two hours.
