Wow! What a great surprise read. I wasn't expecting anything like this. A journalist goes on the hunt for an archaeologist who disappeared in mysterious circumstances. The action moves all over the world, ending up in the Middle East before finally returning to the UK. It really reminded me of THE ENGLISH PATIENT. The protagonist is like a more educated British version of INDIANA JONES. The ending came out of the blue.
