Cassidy O'Shea overheard what should have been a patient's deathbed confession--except the cartel hitman lived. She's lost two years of her life being in witness protection, but nothing will stop her from attending the funeral of Hal, her ex-stepfather and the only father figure she's ever known. Except her quick trip to Fort Bragg is exactly what an assassin hoped for.
AN ELITE SOLDIER WANTING JUSTICE
Learning his Special Ops mentor was murdered, AJ Rozanski's suspicions turn to Hal's mysterious stepdaughter who appeared at the funeral. He's stunned to learn her testimony is needed to bring down the head of a major arms cartel. When the marshals request the Bad Karma team's aid to persuade Cassidy to stay in the Witness Protection program, AJ is determined to convince her to do the right thing--and to find Hal's killer. He's supposed to be protecting her, not falling for a woman he may never see again.
A PAWN IN THE JUSTICE SYSTEM
An attempt on her life sends Cassidy to the only people she trusts--and back into AJ's arms. His team sets a trap for the assassin who killed Hal, but that won't end the threats to Cassidy and her family. The only way to escape spending her life in WITSEC is for the hitman she helped save to testify against the head of the arms cartel, except he's not motivated to talk. Can she outlast and outwit him in a deadly game of survival?

Tracy Brody has written a series of single-title romances featuring the Bad Karma Special Ops team whose love lives are as dangerous as their missions. A SHOT WORTH TAKING and IN THE WRONG SIGHTS won the Golden Heart® for romantic suspense in 2015 and 2016. DEADLY AIM was a four-time finalist in the Golden Heart.
She is now working on a romantic comedy series featuring Army heroes and hopes to make you laugh and cry and fall in love with her characters.
She has a background in banking, retired to become a domestic engineer, and aims to supplement her husband’s retirement using her overactive imagination. Tracy began writing spec movie and TV scripts, however, when two friends gave her the same feedback on a script, saying that they’d love to see it as a book, she didn’t need to be hit over the head with a literal 2” x 4” to get the message. She joined RWA® and developed her craft and is still working on using commas correctly
Tracy and her husband live in North Carolina. She’s the proud mother of a daughter and son and now a mother-in-law. She invokes her sense of humor while volunteering at the USO. You may spot her dancing in the grocery story aisles or talking to herself as she plots books and scenes while walking in her neighborhood, the park, or at the beach on retreats with friends.
Great well thought out story. Longest book I’ve read in a long time but you just want to keep reading with all the twists that come up. Very believable characters, very human, flawed, caring. Would recommend to anyone who wants a really meaty book
This book has a good story plot going but I couldn’t get pass 60% because some of things the author proposed as conceivable just were not at all plausible. But what turned me off the most was the author incessant need to put O-V-E-R several times throughout the book or when the author would say oh that’s the their I mean business face or time to get down to action face. If you describe it well enough I certainly don’t need the added description of what you want perceived.
This is the first book I've read by this author, and I am hooked! Tracy Brody knows how to write a damn good story. Well-written with a hero and heroine you want to root for, IN THE WRONG SIGHTS is a page-turner to the end. I really enjoyed Cassidy's spunk, and AJs swoon worthy protectiveness. Book 4 in the Bad Karma series, I now have to go back and one-click books 1 to 3! Highly recommend.
Besides just plain old good writing, this novel contains multiple plots, and multi-level characters , good and evil. And somehow love and sex find a place, several places. This was a fun, challenging read.
DNF at 12%, for several reasons. First, the points of view are okay but uneven, and mostly without any tension. There's supposed to be tension, but it isn't working on me. Second, the plot to this point is referenced but nonexistent. And third, the dog, which should be a great emotional source, is more like furniture.
I expect better writing from book 4 in a series, and I don't have time for mediocre stories.
This was free, so I gave it a try. And now I'm done.
I thought this would be good based on the first several chapters but then around 40% I completely stopped caring. After about 65% I quit reading. Just wasn’t keeping my attention.
I love this series. I read all four in2 1/2 days and need more. The story line holds your interest and you can't put the book down. You finish one and reach for another. I like all four books and would highly recommend them for a good read. I think my favorite the helicopter pilot. Trying not to give anything away.
This was such a fantastic exciting adventurous story with just the right amount of mystery and suspense to mark it a perfect story. This whole series has been one of the best.
I have to confess that I had not read the previous stories in this series, so I wasn’t if I would be able to follow the plot without getting frustrated. Rest assure, this is truly a stand alone. The story centers around Cassidy O’Shea and AJ Rozanski. Cassidy, a nurse accidentally hears a confession of a dying man, a cartel hitman. But when he doesn’t die, her witnessing the confession puts her in danger. A danger that has led her to be in the WITSEC program for the past 2 years. In hiding for that time, everything changes when she’s determined to attend the funeral of someone dear to her heart, her step-father. Needless to say, her outing makes a target once again. AJ, A member of Bad Karma Ops, also attends the funeral. Hal was his mentor and his murder is not something AJ takes lightly. At the funeral he suspects Cassidy until he finds out she’s in the WITSEC program and is waiting to testify against the a cartel’s boss. Needing help , the Marshal’s ask for Bad Karma Ops help and from then on the suspense, danger and yes, attraction, intensifies. This is a story with an engaging plot , complex characters, a slew of bad guys and hunky good ones, and of course romance. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I love the guys of Bad Karma and this latest installment is just as much of a thrill ride as the previous ones have been You are kept engaged and wondering right until you turn the last page and their is some sizzle as you ride along. While this is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone but do yourself a favour read the entire series You won't be disappointed
Cassidy O’Shea was a trauma nurse who overheard a murder confession at work from a hit man who thought he was dying when he survives he is determined to silence her she reported it and had to be put into the witness protection system. Now the man that raised her has died and she feels she has no choice but to break protocol to attend his funeral after all he was like a dad to her. AJ Rozanski is also at the funeral Hal was his mentor and he wants to pay his respects and also find out who murdered him When a target is painted on Cassidy's back and she is attacked he steps in to save her. Meanwhile passion is flaring between these two but is it the danger or is there something for them to base a future on You will have to read to see
An absolute thrill ride from beginning to end! Cassidy O’Shea rushes to attend the funeral of her stepfather and is now AWOL from her placement in WITSEC. She just learned of his death and can’t miss paying her respects to the man who was a father to her. At the funeral she meets A.J. Rozanski, a member of the Bad Karma Team. Cassidy, a trauma nurse, has been in WITSEC for two years following her report to the police of a murder confession she overheard at work. When an attempt is made on her life, and worried that there is a leak within the program, she turns to A.J. and his team for protection. While they race to keep her safe and find the man who is stalking her, the attraction between A.J. and Cassidy blazes out of control. Will she ever be safe as long as there is a contract on her life? Ms. Brody takes the reader through every possible emotion as Cassidy tries to stay alive. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
This intriguing storyline grabs you from the beginning to the very end. This has Avila cartel, witness protection, murder, danger and so much more. Cassidy move to Chicago for work until Renaldo Flores was wheeled into her emergency department which screwed up her life. Hal was married to her mother and even after the divorce he still cared about Cassidy. He paid her college tuition which helped her get her nursing degree.
AJ is a Special Ops team member who found his mentor dead in his cabin. He meets Cassidy at the burial. After she returns to NY, AJ finds out Hal was murdered and Cassidy is in witness protection. The storyline was well written and entertaining. I absolutely adored the Bad Karma members and the women they love. Even though this is book four in the series. this can be read s a standalone. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
All Cassidy's wanted to do is save people ever since an event when she was younger, but now her job she once loved has put her and her family in danger and may have even killed someone. AJ is torn how he feels about Cassidy as well as suspicious of her but the more he learns about her the more he wants nothing more to protect her which is pretty difficult with being in WITSEC. You feel for how torn Cassidy is versus wanting to do the right thing, but when your life isn't safe no matter what you do and for two years she hasn't seen any of her friends and family so when AJ yet again comes back into her life she has to trust he and his team will do what they can. There is loads of action, danger, mystery as well as attraction, love and times where you are torn about how you feel about what's going on and one hella of a cute dog!
When a beloved member of the Special Forces dies, the Bad Karma team is there to send him off. AJ's lost his mentor and feels less than charitable towards the woman who's apparently family but shows up late to the funeral. Cassidy's had a rough 2 years and when she learns belatedly of her stepfather's death, she'll risk everything to pay her respect. When the Bad Karma team learns what happened to Cassidy and that Hank's death wasn't an accident, they're all in to make it right. Cassidy knows she can't have a future with AJ, not with a past that won't let her go, but AJ won't give upon their relationship without a fight. Not only is the Bad Karma team onboard to help but their wives and girlfriends claim her as one of their own too. Enjoy another fast paced, action filled romance Bad Karma style.
Spec Ops operator AJ Rozanski resented ex-trauma nurse Cassidy O’Shea being given the flag that draped Bad Karma’s mentor’s coffin. of Hal, the Bad Karma team’s mentor, but he had to swallow that resentment as well as her unconventional arrival at the funeral. AJ hadn’t recognized her as Hal’s ex-stepdaughter but easily remembered Hal’s tentative hints the two should meet.
Hal was bigger than life and Cassidy had to come, Hal was the only father she’d ever known, he was bigger than life, though Cassidy hadn’t seen Hal in years she had to be at his funeral. Hal was worth breaking strict witness protection protocol, rules she’d lived under for two years. AJ jumped to the wrong conclusion but quickly changed his mind after learning she was a witness that could incriminate a cartel head. The team also learns Hal’s death was no accident! Rating: 4.25stars
Another brilliant book in the Bad Karma series. The book can be read as a standalone but is much better if the series is read in order. Cassidy overhears a deathbed confession of a hitman who goes on to survive. Persuaded to testify she goes into the witness protection programme. Sometimes doing the right thing comes at a very high cost. The witness programme is a lonely and isolated place full of rules and fear. The decision to break a single rule starts a chain of events that pulls in the Bad Karma team and specifically AJ Rozanski. A story full of action, loyalty, honour, the true meaning of family, an amazing military dog, love and romance. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cassidy was a trauma nurse until she hears a man’s death bed confession. Except the man lives and he belongs to a drug cartel and now he wants to kill her. She’s been in witness protection for two years when she finds out her stepfather, Hal has died. She sneaks off and attends the funeral. AJ is in Special Forces and was one of the men mentored by Hal. He blames Cassidy for Hal’s death until he finds out she’s supposed to testify against the hit man. When her dog alerts her to something being wrong and she finds the gas blocked off, she goes to the only men she trusts. Can AJ protect her and his heart at the same time?
Excellent story. Action, suspense and some sex. I enjoyed the characters because the author makes you feel like you are right there.
I love the story, Its well written and i fell in love with the characters. Cassidy is a trauma nurse in a busy ER She overhears a cartel hitman admit to murder and goes to the authorities. She ends up in the Witness Protection Program. She is very lonely and misses her job. Her mother tells her that her beloved step-father died and she sneaks to the funeral. There she ends up with his dog Champ and meets AJ. AJ takes her places while her car is being fixed and then sends her back to her life. They never expect to see each other again Champ shows Cassidy where someone has messed with her chimney in order to kill her and she calls AJ. Their adventure begins.
Great story. You really feel for Cassidy and all that she has endured to do the right thing. Then to lose someone who guided and mentored her when he didn’t ever really have to. Loved how the guys rallied around Cassidy in honor of her step dad. Loved champ! There was action, covert ops, multiple possible bad guys, tension and definite chemistry and steam. Can’t wait for more.
Love this book. It's well written with plenty of action, suspense and heat. Cassidy was a trauma nurse when she heard a confession that would put her life in danger and people she loves. She was put in WITSEC protection and sneaked to Hal's funeral (her step dad). That's where she saw AJ and his team. Now the killer is looking for her and they are trying to keep her alive. HEA
*****In the Wrong Sights (ARC) by Tracy Brody: well written with a fine edge I loved this story! AJ and Cassidy are good together, but due to witness protection - family, friends, and relationships are forfeited. Danger and high risk are daily concerns. This story has a good pace, a fine tension, all the feels with some serious heat and a satisfying HEA. Loved it!
Another great novel for our Karma guys. Strong characters and all of the previous characters play a pretty good part in this one. I couldn’t put it down. Now, I honestly prefer my books without the steamy scenes, but these plots and everything is put together are so great and thrilling that I have to read them!
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Another great story that shows how honor and integrity should be. I loved how the entire pulls together to provide safety for Cassidy after just meeting her until the danger is over. Even with her being in Witsec she still doesn't feel safe unless she's with AJ. I hope to read more of this Series. I always hate it when I get to the last book.
Cassidy was a witness. AJ was military. They had Hal in common. Danger lurked in every corner of Cassidy us life. But after initially believing Cassidy was the person behind Hall's death he and his team became her champions. And AJ became more. Follow them into danger.
#4 in Tracy Brody's Bad Karma series. As wonderful as the other's in the series. I loved AJ & Cassidy's story. And adored AJ & Cassidy. And of course, Champ. I didn't want to put it down. I'm addicted to this series, and can't wait for the next one.
Love the Bad Karma books. I especially love this one, because it has a dog. Lots of twists and turns, and real emotions and feelings. Great writing style.
