This is such a great trilogy! I read each one singly as they came out and loved them. The trilogy box set is so great because you have all the books at once and you don't have to search or wait for the next one. This story will have you on the edge of your seat with the action! So get your set and come along with Gunner Fox(hubba...hubba) and his crew and enjoy the ride!
The following are my individual reviews for each book.
Discovery:
As the world population goes about their daily lives, they have no idea of the danger that is lurking in space. Unbeknownst to the innocent people, a killer is hurtling through space on a collision course with planet Earth.
As if asking the magic eight ball, Bobby Akart has once again hit on a topic that probably could come to pass. I don’t know of anything that could be scarier as an asteroid on a collision course with the Earth. The devastation from one this size could be the end once again of civilization as happened 66 million years ago. Asteroid Discovery starts our journey as the government discovers that an asteroid is hiding behind a once in a life time comet which is coming close to our planet. All is kept hush hush from the American people in order to find a way to save the Earth…or are they? Behind the scenes, deals are being made but are they the right ones? One man who is a maverick in his own right is called upon to answer the call of duty to his country. Enter Gunner Fox. Air Force major, pilot, son, friend, widow. My first impression of Gunner was that he was an arrogant, egotistical bastard, who thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Then as I read along, I came to realize that he is a very complicated individual with a heavy heart. One that will in all likeliness never heal. Gunner is the main character in this trilogy and truthfully, not a bad guy. Along with Gunner we meet Cameron Mills aka Cam, who is a childhood friend and is on the quick-reaction team and also in the Air Force and works along with Major Fox. There is Staff Sergeant Barret King who is known as Bear because of his size who is also on the team with Gunner and Cam, Granville Fox, also called Pop, retired from the Air Force and is Gunner’s dad and last but certainly not least, is Howard. Howard is a Basset Hound who loves to sleep. You can’t help but like this group because of their love for each other and their friendship.
All in all. This first book in the trilogy is one of excitement, action and learning and I loved every page I have read! There were many “hold on to your seat”, “don’t forget to breathe” and “Oh crap” moments along the way, along with so much action, heart breaking moments and Oh no…he didn’t just do that! I know everyone will enjoy this new journey that we have all embarked on with Bobby because he will make sure we do. Thank you Bobby for another exciting start to an adventure that I can’t wait to finish reading about!
Diversion:
Space…the final frontier… (said in my best Jean Luc Picard voice). Those words couldn’t be truer right now for the inhabitants of the planet Earth. A killer asteroid, 2029 IM 86, which is on a direct course for impact with Earth, an asteroid so large that it could mean the extinction of mankind. The same type of extinction that took place over sixty million years ago in which the dinosaurs that walked the lands, were completely wiped out. One man, whose prowess is well known is called upon to take on the mission to fly into space and destroy this monster. Gunner Fox…a major in the United States Air Force, takes on the mission without hesitation. What follows in the story after he agrees is totally phenomenal!!! I sat here with my heart racing, holding my breath, crying at revelations that had happened and for those who were lost, cursing at the author and most of all…thoroughly enjoying this book!!! People often say that a book is action packed, heart stopping, etc. Well, Diversion is all of that and then some! I kid you not! I whole-heartedly recommend this trilogy to anyone who enjoys one helluva an excellent story! Do not miss this one…seriously!
Destruction:
As with all of Bobby Akart’s releases, I always have it pre-ordered and when my Kindle dings at midnight I know I’m in for a treat and with Asteroid Destruction, Mr. Akart DID NOT let me down! Holy cow!!! Talk about a book with excitement! This one had it all just as the previous book in this trilogy, Asteroid Diversion did! I seriously had major heart palpitations while reading this one, never knowing who would make it out alive; because if you have read any of Bobby’s books before, you know…NO ONE IS EVER SAFE!!! Without giving any spoilers away (I HATE when people do that in reviews!), I will say I was very happy with how this book ended. Yes, some were lost along the way but not everyone can survive when you are fighting to save the world from a massive killer who will take no prisoners and leave destruction where ever it goes. My emotions were all over the place with this entire trilogy. I was a mess! But in the end, when I turned that last page on my Kindle…I smiled (and you will too 😊) Thank you once again Bobby Akart for a riveting story that hopefully will never come true, though with the way things are looking out there in the darkness of that big vacuum called space, it is only a matter of time!

I really enjoyed this boxset..Had me on the edge of my chair and biting fingernails from the first chapter..This author puts feelings in his books and brings you into his storylines, makes you care about every single character. You're drawn into his books and don't want to put them down until you're finished whole book

sly and satisfying, like a Fox
