Backwoods Preaching: God Driven Livin' In Uncertain Times

Rate this book
Hearing Paul Perkins preach is to consider Jesus as a southerner and a bit of a country boy, which suits Jesus just fine, since Nazareth was the backwoods of Israel. Most obvious to anyone working their way through the pages of this book is how Paul Perkins finds Jesus alive and at work in the plain moments of life. I believe the Lord would have it no other way." ~ Rick Soto, Author, Simple Bible CommentaryChapters 1. Servin' Ain't Easy 2. Mud-Puddle Missions 3. The Piglet Sermon 4. WD-40 5. The gospel truth laced throughout this book is outstanding! Paul hits hard and tells it how it is. His ability to mix the truth of Christ, missions, and the gospel with mud puddles, humor, and WD-40 make the pages fly by! Anyone who knows a little about farming or the country lifestyle will feel right at home. I found myself reading sections to my wife aloud as I went, cause it was too good not to share! I challenge you to put your tractor up early, leave the TV off, and put your cell phone away. Dig in and hunker down. It’ll hit you like a ton of bricks, good bricks.
