Bella Andre drew me in with the first Sullivan story she published. What a wonderful family and I love that we are getting to meet all the extensions of them. From San Francisco to Seattle … from New York to Maine … hopefully onto England as well … I will never NOT read a Bella Andre story about this wonderful family. But Duncan and Lola’s story was a bit different for me. I truly wasn’t a fan of either character. They didn’t grab me from the beginning that most of her characters do. It was a fast romance and then came to a complete halt. The story went from love to hate then back to love in a matter of chapters. I felt like I had whiplash with the way Lola changed her feelings. I wasn’t sure if Lola was in her 20’s or 12 at times. And some of the dialogue was downright teenagerish. I felt like Duncan was sometimes reading from a piece of paper instead of telling his true feelings … his professions of love were very much like a sonnet instead of being from the heart. Duncan had good intentions but really didn’t know how to communicate them. When he finally did, it made some sense but not complete sense.

The story line was was interesting. I never heard of cartography but, learned a lot about it. And, we all know that Lola works with textiles. I like how the two came together and how they sort of intertwined with each other. Of course, there was more to it than that and cartography was just a hobby for Duncan. His real job is what totally torn them apart.

So, I guess I really didn’t connect with When You Kiss Me. Highly unusual for me with a Sullivan book. But, does that mean that I will ever stop reading a story in this series? NO! A glitch in 21 stories about a family that I would love to be a part of … that’s all this was. And it is highly unusual for Bella Andre.

With this one you really had to suspend belief. Lola and Duncan met in her class, feel a spark, sit by each other at lunch, then spend time together afterwards. Heck Duncan even spends the night, they are in love in less than 24 hours. She's gushing to her family about the new relationship and being in love, he's changing his schedule in Boston and figuring out a way to go back to Bar Harbor for the weekend and even move there, again all after 24 hours. I found myself shaking my head and just went with it.

Of course I knew when Moria showed up what would happen, knew also that while Lola was angry to start with she would want answers and to speak to Duncan again. And of course she would pull in her cousins to help Duncan and they were able to clear him of some pretty serious crimes with the FBI all within a week. More head shaking, but now with an eye roll.

By the end of the book I was just glad to be done, too many things that were just too hard for me to buy into, even when reading fiction.

I always look forward to a Bella Andre book because of how simple and sweet they are and I think these two words really describe this book well. WHEN YOU KISS ME is book three in the Maine Sullivans series, but you can definitely read it as a standalone.

I really enjoyed the sweet love story between Lola and Duncan. There was a sophisticated air when it came to these two and I loved how Andre really takes her time with the romance. She brings these two together and allows them to really get to know each other. She makes them talk about their interests, their dreams, their secrets, so that by the time the physical stuff happens, you really do feel a connection between the two. This obviously takes time and I love that Andre paid attention to the little details. It certainly makes a difference.

This book has a slightly slower pace to it, but I think that’s actually what readers tend to love about this series. It certainly fits the characters as well as the genre and setting. I really can’t wait for more Bella Andre books. They are amongst my favorites when it comes to Contemporary Romance.

When You Kiss Me was the third book in the Maine Sullivan series by Bella Andre. It was also the twenty first book in the long line of Sullivan series. And although part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone.

Lola Sullivan was drop dead gorgeous. She had always been beautiful and most had only seen her beauty but were unable to get past that for her intelligence and loving heart. She had given up on men when she crossed paths with Duncan.

Duncan Lyman was the founder of an investment firm. He had committed his life for the past five years to helping start ups become successful. His assistant felt he worked too hard and gifted him a class in map drawing, a hobby which he was never able to devote much time. Enter Lola, the instructor who was most beautiful and brightest person he had ever met.

The storyline was told with a double POV. And true to Andre’s form, it was well written, well developed and full of depth and dimension. The plot was the strong foundation with a few surprises that needed to be navigated through. Andre also included a wide range of Sullivan cousins. It was a treat for the long time Andre fans and the perfect introduction for those that haven’t yet read the full series. The storyline was fairly predictable but was still intriguing, entertaining and satisfying. I can’t wait for more Maine Sullivan’s!

Another amazing Sullivan family saga. So worth the wait. Lola and Duncan have an instant attraction to each other. Love at first sight. Lola has always had a hard time trusting men and when she meets Duncan she thinks the same of him. Can their love past the test. The Sullivan family is close and always there to help. Another amazing story.

So great to get back to the Sullivans!!

Now it is Lola's turn. She hides a fear that paralyzes her in relationships. Duncan's is trying to make amends for sins of his brother. What they didn't count on is the explosive chemistry between them and the past that could tear them apart.

Loved these two and can't wait to see what happens next!

This is one of my favorite contemporary family sagas and I’m always excited wherever a new story is released. While I loved the unconditional support of the Sullivans from all over, I found this latest installment falling a bit short of the series’ usual magic.

Bella has utilized love-at-first sight to better effect in previous books. This one seems too rushed. I understand the insta-lust. Their insta-love after only one night together wasn’t given enough foundation.

I wanted to be shown Lola’s textile talents instead of merely told that she’s exceptional at it. I also wanted more depth from her aside from her extraordinary beauty and body.

Duncan is a bit blah. His conflict with his brother didn’t feel explosive enough to warrant the kind of support he received from the Sullivans.

I hope Ashley’s upcoming story is better. Maybe slower burn.

I love reading about the Sullivans. It would be wonderful to have a large, supportive, and caring family like they do. It was nice watching Lola and Duncan fall in love so quickly. It broke my heart when someone unknowingly tore them apart. We all see other people and think how nice it would be to be them. Lola knew what it was like to have people only look at her and see her beauty and either be jealous of her or want her for sex. I couldn’t imagine how she felt especially with how smart she is too. The way Duncan was brought up and what his older brother did to him broke my heart. I could see what a good man Duncan was and wanted good things for him. I was glad to see that Lola had to finally hear Duncan out so she could decide how she really felt about him. Once you start reading this book, you won’t want to put it down. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

This series just gets better

I love the Sullivans. I especially love the ones in Maine because of their Irish heritage. Lola is afraid to love because her experience with men has been less than stellar. Jerks who thought that she was nothing but eye candy, brainless and easy to take advantage of. When Duncan bowls her over with love at first sight, and then she finds out about his past, she thinks that she has been suckered again.
Can she overcome her fears to not only forgive him, but believe him and help him through the fight he’s about to face?
I really loved this book and would recommend it to everyone. I can’t wait for more!

I’ve waited SO long for the next Sullivan installment that I read this in a single afternoon. The characters are richly developed, likable and relatable. Both Lola & Duncan are well rounded, flawed, afraid, brave and honest. Honest with themselves, honest with each other and honest with their feelings about each other and their families. I read this series thinking that eventually the plot line or character interactions will be contrived or repetitive but, thankfully, that has not happened. I love that Bella includes many of the previous Sullivan’s in each book. Like catching up with a trusted friend

Wonderful heartfelt story of Duncan and Lola. Love at first sight was their beginning, but sometimes circumstances get in the way. Their trust has been shattered but will they find that trust in each other. The Sullivans once again come to the rescue. Can’t get enough of these awesome characters. I received this arc for an honest review.💕💕

I loved this book. Loved how quickly Lola and Duncan fell for each other. It’s so sweet. But he’s held off telling her something, and I wasn’t prepared to feel so heartbroken. I cried so hard for them. Loved being so emotionally connected. Will Lola give him another chance? Love how the Sullivans all come together, the love of this family is very heartwarming. Had some happy tears in the ending. Can’t wait for Ashley’s story, which looks like it’s next. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Lola and Duncan’s story was great. Their journey was so relatable. Their loves was so strong that even though they were scared and listened to others their love always brought them back. I loved their story along with all the other Sullivan books. It was great seeing how close knit the extended family is, that all it takes is a phone call. Again amazing story.

This is my first Maine Sullivans book, but I don’t feel like I was missing much by not reading the previous ones. And honestly, if you’re new to any of the Sullivan world, you could read this as a stand-alone.
But I was disappointed in this story, because I never really got a handle on Lola or Duncan. And frankly, insta-Love is definitely not my favorite trope. So Lola thinks men just see her outside and not her heart and soul. Okay, I get that...some men can be shallow. But to want the reader to believe that, less than 24 hours of acquaintance, she’s found The One...it’s a stretch for me. And while Duncan seems charming, just because he can draw a map isn’t a good enough reason to be throwing I love you around.
I didn’t care about either character enough to make this book either memorable or one that I’d recommend to others.

I received an arc for an honest review

When You Kiss Me is the latest release in the Maine Sullivans series from Bella Andre. The Sullivan family absolutely is one of my favorite series of characters ever, and I love there are so many branches of this family tree. When You Kiss Me is Lola Sullivan's story, and I absolutely couldn't put this book down!

Lola Sullivan is a beautiful voluptuous woman. Most men have only looked at her and seen what she looked like without ever caring to learn more. As this has happened to her most of her life, she is very careful around men and very slow to trust anything at face value. Duncan Lyman has his own trust issues thanks to his older brother, and is still working on righting the wrongs his brother did 5 years ago. When he meets Lola, he is absolutely drawn to her, and that Duncan saw Lola's inner beauty shining through. I loved neither could really take their eyes off the other and they didn't want to be apart from one another long.

I knew Duncan delaying telling Lola about his past with his brother could come back to bite him in the ass, just not quite in the way that it did. I also understood how hurt, upset, and angry Lola was, especially as she shared things from her past she hadn't even shared with her sisters. Lola had been burned in the past, and I hated she felt doubts about her instincts. Lola is such a passionate woman, and I loved even in her anger, she started seeing things didn't add up as they should for Duncan to be the bad guy.

Something that runs pretty true for many of the Sullivan offspring is knowing almost from the moment they meet "the one" they have meet their other half. Lola and Duncan connected from the moment they first saw each other, and I absolutely felt a happy sigh when they both struggled to stop staring. Add in their smoking hot chemistry, while trying to wait a bit to make love, and I was hooked on them as a couple, even when things looked bleak. I have mad love for Lola and Duncan as a couple.

Bella Andre has once again given me a beautiful, sexy, and emotional romance right when I needed it. Between all the various branches of the Sullivan family, this is the 21st book in the series, and they continue to entertain and keep me coming back for more with each new installment.

Between COVID-19, distance learning and all that stress, I must admit my reading habits have changed somewhat. I’ve been reading darker romances with definitely-not traditional heroes, paranormal adventures, etc. So it was a wonderful change to pace to enter back into to the sweet and lovable world of the Sullivans with When You Kiss Me by Bella Andre.

In When You Kiss Me, Duncan and Lola meet when he signs up for her class. She designs fabrics and he is an aspiring cartographer (really different, I know, but I found it interesting) . It’s pretty much an instant attraction that quickly leads to love. However, as with many of Bella Andre’s books, you get much more. Our heroine has been hurt too many times before; our hero has a secret and then when you add family drama…well it all comes together in a quick and delightful read!

When You Kiss Me is a standalone in the Sullivan universe - a really large and wonderful, dream family. You don’t have to read the other books to enjoy this story, but if you love charming and light romances with great family dynamics, you’ll enjoy this series.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this novel. I am voluntarily and freely providing an honest review.

Another great read about the Maine Sullivan’s. Lola Sullivan meets Duncan when he takes a class she is teaching on drawing maps. Duncan has always loved doing this and knew he could learn a lot from her. When he meets her he is instantly attracted and she feels the same. Lola has been burned by men in the past but she feels differently about Duncan. Duncan has a past he can’t escape from. His older brother raised him when their parents died. So when his brother started a business, Duncan joined him. Then he found out his brother was a crook. He got the information needed to take him down but his brother destroyed it. So he has been estranged from his brother for five years. When Duncan started his own business he vowed to make everything up to the people his brother cheated. And he did with the exception of one woman he could not find. Before he gets the chance to tell Lola about his past he comes face to face with the woman he could not find. She is a part of Lolas family. When she realized who Duncan is she tells everything. And Lola wants nothing to do with him. How can he possibly fox this? Read to find out what happens.

I really enjoyed this new Bella Andre book. I love the Sullivans so much!! Every time I read about them I always wish I was part of their family. This story is a case where the insta-love really makes sense. Both Lola and Duncan are so jaded and affected by their pasts that when they meet and click on every level possible, there is no denying what they have found in each other. I love them as a couple so much!!!!! Unfortunately something happens to ruin their very new relationship, at least for a while that is. I am glad Lola gave him a chance to explain everything. Truth and love prevail thankfully and we get another very enjoyable read and happily ever after for Lola Sullivan. As always having multiple Sullivans traipsing throughout the story is just perfect! Another sweet and heartwarming read!

ARC for honest review with no compensation

When You Kiss Me is book 3 in the Maine Sullivans (Book 21 in the Sullivan Series) by Bella Andre. Up next is Lola and Duncan.

Lola Sullivan has never had a man see her for who she really is...smart, gorgeous and a talented textile designer until she meets Duncan Lyman a man with secrets. The instant attraction, insta-love greets these two on a deep level that neither has ever felt.

What happens next...fears, instant attraction, secrets, trust issues, family lending a helping hand and second chances...can they find their HEA or will the secrets destroy it all?

WHEN YOU KISS ME.......Belle Andre
Lola and Duncan after thirty years, to find your mate, it was mutual, and full of passion and promise. He was a new student at her textile design class, his goal was to hand draw maps, loves the characters that they take on when done by hand. Her mother feeding lunch to her students, turned to matchmaking when she met Duncan.. He was definitely smitten with her, a secret about his brother would probably destroy any chance. He just didn’t know that this family was different, his battle was now theirs, to fight for justice. A heartwarming story of finding love, after a lot of disappointments.
Given Arc for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Lola Sullivan is a very good looking woman who has men staring at her on a regular basis. She owns her own studio doing textile designing.
Duncan Lyman owns his own business as a Venture Capitalist and has a dark secret he keeps hidden from everyone.
One day his secretary gives him a gift to attend one of Lola's classes. When they meet the sparks fly and they both are shook by their feelings.
There is love and some mystery that will keep your attention throughout the entire book. I highly recommend this book.
I was offered this ARC in return for an honest review.

I have slightly mixed feelings about this addition to the long running Sullivan series.
We meet Lola (one of the Maine Sullivans) and Duncan when he takes one of her drawing classes. While I liked these two characters and appreciated their instant attraction, the "I love yous" in less than 24 hours seemed a bit too much. That "bit too much" seemed to be a recurring theme for me - I won't go into details because I don't want to spoil the story for anyone.

With any book by Ms Andre, I know going in that it's going to be a highly romantic story. I expect the quick evolution to the story, but I feel like something with the stories has changed. I found Lola and Duncan to be sweet and their conflict interesting. Secondary characters were used well and loyal readers will enjoy seeing familiar faces.

I'm not sure what the element that is missing in the most recent Sullivan books that I was there in the earlier books, but there is something that has changed for me.

When you kiss me is definitely a must read. Lola and Duncan have been through so much in life that they never thought they could find love and be happy. And once they were honest with each other and spilled their darkest secrets they were able to love each other unconditionally. This is another homerun for Bella. A true love story. And of course all the Sullivans are so amazing.

This has to be one of my favorite series of books. The Sullivan's are this huge amazing family that you just want to be a part of. Lola is a firecracker. Intelligent and independent. Duncan is this hot guy who shows up and sparks fly. You will love reading about them and also hearing from so many of the cousins in the Sullivan family. I cant wait for the next book!

Love this series but hated this one. Started to read it over a month ago and skimmed almost 85%. I honestly could not get on board with the falling in love the same day they met and everything that came along with that, then leading to these ups and downs. It was so annoying and unrealistic, super disappointed in this one. Couldn’t wait for it to end.

When You Kiss Me
Maine Sullivan’s #3
Bella Andre
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Sullivan’s as a whole are always an entertaining bunch, with each sibling, and cousin having their own special happy ever after, in Maine, it is Lola Sullivan who gets her turn. As a stunning, smart and talented sketcher and designer, life had not always been easy. She’s beautiful, and that had not always made got good decisions, men only took in those looks not the talent behind it. It has taken her many years, but her full of life colourful demeaned is pleasant to those who really know the woman inside.

Duncan Lyman runs his own venture capital company, he uses his money to help and nurture new and innovative ways in the world, from renewable fabrics, friendly farming to prosthetic devices for kids. He really is the perfect package. He meets Lola during a drawing class run threw her textile business, and it’s pretty fair to satay they fall instantly for each other. This story literally takes insta-love to a new level. After overhearing a phone call from a distributor that wasn’t particularly nice, Duncan offers a chance to pitch to her…. she’s is taken by his everything so takes the meeting, this is where the falling begins.

As Lola truly falls for Duncan there is a part of him she does t know about, a part he intended to tell her, that how do you explain to the woman you love about a criminal brother and the devastation left behind??? When he is caught out, Lola is furious as is the rest of her family, and he is thrown to the curb. But for Lola, she needs to know why, why lie about it? why let her fall for him? Why did she trust him? Out to get blood Lola leaves Bar Harbour and drives to Boston to grill Duncan face to face.

It is here her life will change forever. Confronting Duncan was her best decision, because she gets all the answers and more, when it’s obvious Duncan has been taken advantage of, scary Lola makes an appearance, and you know if you upset one Sullivan every Sullivan will come after you. Duncan’s brother is about to discover what a Sullivan intervention looks like, it’s not pretty but it works a treat, if only Duncan can win his girl back!
