For centuries fairy tales have enlivened the imaginations of readers of all ages. More than just cautionary folklore with magical characters and strange scenarios, the greatest fairy tales exemplify the best that children's literature has to offer, masterfully revealing deep truths that have the power to cultivate the moral imagination of readers, thus making them an essential part of any quality reading life. Tales of Wonder Volume II provides eight of the most popular fairy tales ever told, as recorded by Andrew Lang, Charles Perrault, and Hans Christian Anderson. No matter how old your students are (or if you are the student), this book offers a context for contemplative reading and deep thinking about the most lively, enjoyable, and transformative stories ever told.

It wouldn't normally take us this long to read a short book with 8 or so stories, but school started and routine changed, and that's why it took two months. Ha! Thank you Fall Break!
Again, a delightful selection of stores with probing questions. Some of my girls were able to pick out more bible correlations this time around. They don't always have them in the book but thoughts like, "Mom, could it be like..." and they mention some story in the bible and we talk about it. It's also interesting to get a short history on the author and the history of the tale.
These are books worth having... and now I need to go build my fairy tale collection.
Another great compilation of stories from Circe. We read this in our homeschool morning time as apart of “Fairy Tale Friday” and my kids would get so excited for Friday! Hoping another one comes out soon!
