Blake Karrington is more than an author. He’s a storyteller who places his readers in action-filled moments. It’s in these creative spaces that readers are allowed to get to know his complex characters as if they’re really alive.
Most of Blake’s titles are in the South in urban settings that are often overlooked by the mainstream. But through Blake’s eyes, readers quickly learn that places like Charlotte, NC can be as gritty as they come. It’s in these streets of this oft overlooked world where Blake portrays murderers and thieves alike as believable characters. Without judgement, he weaves humanizing backstories that serve up compelling reasons for why a drug dealer might choose a life of crime.
Readers of speak of the roller coaster ride of emotions that ensues from feeling anger at empathetic characters who always seem to do the wrong thing at the right to keep the story moving forward.
In terms of setting,Blake’s stories introduce his readers to spaces they may or may not be used to - streetscapes with unkept, cracked sidewalks where poverty prevails, times are depressed and people are broke and desperate. In Blake storytelling space, morality is so curved that rooting for bad guys to get away with murder can sometimes seem like the right thing for the reader to do - even when it’s not.
Readers who connect with Blake find him to be relatable. Likening him to a bad-boy gone good, they see a storyteller who writes as if he’s lived in world’s he generously shares, readily conveying his message that humanity is everywhere, especially in the unlikely, mean streets of cities like Charlotte.
I almost threw my iPad about 4 times in this book. Men and their lies and egos will drive you up the wall. Ughhhh, I know part 3 will have me ready to fight so let me get ready now.
This just keeps getting better! The drama pulled me in in book one, and books two tops that. Can't wait to see what's going on with everyone in the next book.
Okay I was really looking forward to see what Simone would do about the baby. I never expected for her ex to act like a whole female and blow up like that. Her and Zion really need to talk things through because he definitely feeling his little assistant. There is also another problem on the horizon his ex who is also his stalker. Now that she has tried to take her life, old feelings will definitely surface. Poor Marcus he let Is gonna hate him. I hate he didn't control his anger now he seems like a woman beater. I feel she wanted him to react like this as a type of payback. Tori let that man feel her head with all these lies. I hope Kim is really someone she can trust because she is giving her way too much information and access to get money.Ready for part 3.
Confessions of An Urban Author 2: “And This To Shall Pass” by Blake Karrington is interesting and amazing story. Once again, Blake Karrington does a good job. It’s well written and it’s phenomenal page.
Social media is not good place to telling your personal business to random people. Authors need to be careful who they trust with their business. Some readers can be messy as hell. Author’s personal relationship can be messy as hell too.
Good read Book Nerd Drama Continues 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Honestly, I’m confused with the content & was expecting something different/resolute in book 2. Nonetheless, Confessions of an Urban Author 2: “And This To Shall Pass” Episode 2 (Confession of an Urban Author)” was an okay read. …the storylines and additional characters were just as frustrating (unrealistic) as in book one. “Rich Gang Publishing” is still one hot mess 🤬‼️…Zion needs to handle his unresolved “club” business rather than being preoccupied with his or RGP image statements on social media platforms. …And in what fantasy land would a landscaper become a publishing company overnight 🤨. WHAT ⁉️..too much, too soon & too convoluted 🤷🏾♀️‼️
Okkkkkk part 2!!! Part 2 dug deeper with the scandals and some aired out dirty laundry. New characters are mentioned and more author drama unfolding. Ppl are showing their true colors and now taking everything in a different light. A blast from Zion past is mentioned and the readers learn more about his mystery. It’s another book so I’m knowing it’s more drama even though no names were dropped I think I filled in the blanks lol but overall great storyline and amazing editing.
When I tell you shit really hit the fan, bruh! I got to the last page and was like wait, it's over already 😩😩. Talk about the drama, I'm all into it. I'm tryna figure out if these stories based on the truth cuz if so, I wanna know who 👀. I liked this new character Tori but sis let's be real, you should've known Dom wasn't going to hold you down. Smh. I love how real this feels. Readers are definitely like this and some of these authors have scandals sometimes. Lawd where is the next episode and what's going to happen???
Man, this book got me looking at authors side eyed. Dom is a total bum and I definitely don’t understand why Tori thought that she could leave him in charge of her stuff for two whole years. Come to think of it, most of these men are a trip. Marcus beating on women, Zion couldn’t call Simone back and Rico was just worthless. I can’t wait to see what happens in book three.
Let me start by saying this lil short series is fye. These characters are something else. I can't believe Rico would put Simone business out there like that. I thought zion was kool until now he treated Simone the way he did. That's wasn't kool at all. Dom really showing his true colors when it comes to Tori. I hope old crazy Sanai didn't try to kill herself cause what Rico posted.
New person was introduced to us, Tori, another publisher and wow...it was like that. There is a connection somewhere...hmmm...Marcus is still caught up and smooth Zion is getting unexpectedly rattled. Rico is a punk.. Then just like that, Blake leaves us in anticipation of Episode 3. He needs to hurry up!
Man if you haven’t gotten into this series you are missing out. Watching the dram unfold from the first page got my mouth dragging the ground. Baby I swear I feel like I need to put my Inspector Gadget hat on because this is too f’n good and vivid to be fiction. Once again awesome job to the author. Next installment me please!!!!!
I really didn't think the tea could get any hotter, boy was I wrong. This book is the second episode in Blake's newest series and he did not disappoint with the follow up. The characters from the first episode return and we even get introduced to a new character. Things are definitely heating up in this series and I'm definitely interested in seeing where this story goes.
This 2nd installment was just as good as the first you know I read this quickly. Marcus doing stuff that gets him in trouble. Now Zion that came back to get him but it's not that bad... Tori going to be alright but Dom was shady for doing that. Come I i need more...😂😂😂...
Blake came back with part two of “confessions of a urban author” and came out the gate swinging! Part two is just as juicy as part one and even introduce some new characters. All I can do is shake my head and pray part three will be released like yesterday!
It was well worth the wait, now i have to wait again! This was a so good the shorts are almost like watching my weekly soaps from back in the day. So much high ghetto drama! I love it.
And the p!ot thickens! Blake you really outdid yourself on this series! Zion and Marcus is a mess but that damn Tori and Dom needs to be a whole nother book! Man book 3 needs to come out immediately!
I read this book in 30 minutes. Even though it was short it was good as ever. Wtf is going on wit dom see that’s what I wanna know. I got a feeling but I don’t wanna say nothing. And Rico? Issa bihhhhh period. Love it keep it coming!
Quick read full of drama like the first book. Rico, Marcus, and Dom must be drinking the same stupid juice. Zion can’t catch a break and Simone got side swiped. I hope part three is here sooner than later.
Blake has done it again. I hate Tori trusted Dom dusty tail with her fortune, at least she found out early. Simone poor thing couldn't think last getting wasted and bagging the owner of the publishing company. This is reality Tv for you.
Tea and more Tea! Like someone said the book industry is looking more like a soap opera and ain’t never lied. You can’t trust no one and I’m dying to see what’s coming next. Let’s go Part 3.
Definitely a worthy read! Filled with all the gossip tea and drama that makes the urban world a rollercoaster. Episode three wya? Simone we need answers!
