An invasion by stealth. A ruthless mercenary. A wild hope of survival.

Alissa returns to Kar in her quest to track down the shadowy syndicate behind the plot in the desert––only to find her search blocked as much by the constraints of university life as by the threats and deadly attacks she encountered in Irithen.

Until the assassin strikes, revealing a whole new level of intrigue and expertise.

Fleeing to the capital to discover who is behind the conspiracy is one way of taking the initiative.

It also takes her into greater danger as she comes face to face with the invaders––and the terrifying Captain Reith who has haunted her dreams for reasons she still does not understand.

Maybe love will prove more powerful than war…

But the heart of the enemy is a dangerous place.

Webdancer is the second book in the Stormweaver series, the far-future fantasy epic by Jay Aspen.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. I’m Jay, a sci-fi, thriller and occasional fantasy author from the wild Welsh borders!
I love weaving my (sometimes hair-raising) experiences of extreme sports into my stories as well as painting scenes from my travels into both contemporary and imagined worlds.
When I’m reading, I find the blend of fast-paced plots and interesting, compelling characters is what keeps the pages turning – so that is how I like to write.
I hope you’ll love my stories – there are more of them due out this year!

Great story

I really enjoyed this book and found myself getting caught up in the story at the very beginning. The characters were well developed and easy to identify with. I liked the author's style of weaving a believable tale full of action and adventure. I really liked this book and I highly recommend it.

I raced through this one. It's well written and I enjoyed the fast pace, range of clearly drawn characters (some likeable plus a few unlikeable villains). There were some sharp insights into a strange, dangerous, but compelling world.

Exciting and origional! This fast paced novel has great charactors and a very interesting world, the concept of tuning into the frequency of the planet is mind bending. Great world building , hard to put down!

What lurks in the Web's heart...?

Alissa doesn't repeat her mistakes, but will her rigorous preparations keep her safe during her hunt for well-guarded high-tech secrets? Are the faint disturbances she senses in the world just her imagination, or does she face fresh perils and dangers her training hasn't prepared her for?

In a world where humans have tailored plants to suit their needs, Aspen weaves vivid images and sharply drawn characters to create a story which will transport you into a fresh and dynamic world. Strongly recommended.

As with the previous book, fast paced from the outset. Details from a new world woven with with action and dialogue had me speedy through to the end! An extreme confrontation between capitalism and a society in synchronicity with its environment makes for interesting moral problems. Waiting for the next one....
