The book feels rushed and ``first draft''. To my taste, it tries too hard to have lighter tone and be friendly to the point that text sometimes feels cheesy and as if it was for children. ``Keep reading to learn more'' — I am already reading it, there is no need to sell the book to me in the middle of the text. Those are stylistic issues anyway, but they do affect my perception of a book.

That said, it still is a nice and fast (re)introduction to RabbitMQ and AMQP in general on a somewhat practical example. I believe it is a good start for beginners, where concepts are explained one at a time, and I think that this book some times does it better than the official RabbitMQ documentation. Later could be used to fill in the gaps in already established understanding of a service.
