The end of a legend . . . the beginning of a legacy.
In the brutal, ever-changing world of the verdant rainforest, tensions have never been higher. As the three colonies which inhabit it battle one another, the only chance for peace lies in the hands of one who has the power to change the course of history.
With her unique blue hair and dual parentage, Syriel is half of two worlds, with no claim to either—not Yurelle like her mother, or Zrti like her father. With drive, passion, and the conviction to defend it, she’d be the perfect heir apparent to take her mother’s place as Grand Chancellor . . . if her mother hadn’t promised her to the She’ehlarah when she was just a baby.
Syriel’s marriage to Prince Zona, heir to the crown of his entire nation, would join a queendom, a senate, and a kingdom with one piece of paper, ensuring harmony for generations. It would also condemn her to a life sentence with a stranger when her heart belongs to another. But the She’ehlarah are vulnerable, and as Syriel grapples with an impossible choice, the fate of a kingdom hangs in the balance.
Blending political intrigue with fantasy in a richly drawn world beneath the forest canopy, Legends That Bleed is the first book in the Cerulean Queendom series.
Tegan Abbott is an Australian born creative writer and novelist. Despite leaving school at fifteen, she finished her first book just after turning eighteen.
Her passion for storytelling was sparked by playing table-top games in her childhood. Writing stories collaboratively remains an important part of her life as she still plays table top games with her friends today.
A lot of her first book was written during her breaks while working full time in aged care. She later branched out into psychiatric and disabled care. Helping people has always been a fundamental value to her, particularly those who can’t help themselves.
Tegan joined the military at the age of nineteen to seek more challenges and embark on real life adventures. Her time in the military was incomparable and redefining for her. When she left, she returned to care work and soon after, published her first novel.
Tegan’s 2012 epic fantasy series “Blood Gift”, is a story of redemption. Readers follow the journey of a character who lost himself, yet develops into a hero while fighting his own complicated internal battle.
Tegan’s 2020 political fantasy series “The Cerulean Queendom”, features tiny ant evolved people in Australia’s ancient Daintree Rainforest. It centres around a character born of two worlds, with claim to neither.
The rainforest is already deadly to all within. When a new queen leaves her colony, she no longer recognizes the last as her kin. Every colony, though related, views each other as outsiders. As enemies.
Tegan’s third completed series is unpublished. It is her deepest story. Hope and light shines brightest in the dark. Determination and resolve are the core of her dark fantasy and horror.
All of Tegan’s stories, beat with the same promise; not all characters survive. But those who do, cherish their hard-fought victories, and lament their losses dearly.
